Visible is easier to budget month to month: its base plan is $25 with taxes included and no contract, and it offers unlimited hotspot data at speeds up to 5 Mbps. The plans use different networks and handle data and hotspot differently, so the right choice depends on your location, payment preference, and usage—not the word “unlimited.” Prices and terms below reflect the carriers’ official pages accessed October 9, 2026, and may change.
Mint Mobile vs. Visible at a glance
| Plan detail | Mint Mobile Unlimited | Visible base plan |
|---|---|---|
| Price and payment | New-customer offer: $15 per month equivalent for the initial term, paid upfront: $45 for three months, $90 for six months, or $180 for twelve months. Standard rates shown are $30 per month for three or twelve months, or $35 per month for six months. | $25 per month, billed monthly; not an introductory price and no contract. |
| Taxes and fees | Extra; the final total depends on applicable taxes and fees. | Included in the listed price; plan facts state no provider monthly fees or one-time purchase fees. |
| Data | Unlimited plan; Mint says the first 50 GB is at 5G/4G LTE speeds. Above 50 GB, speeds may be reduced for the rest of the cycle in certain locations when the network is busy. | Unlimited plan data. Visible says data may temporarily be slower than other traffic during busy periods. |
| Hotspot | Up to 20 GB of hotspot data on the Unlimited plan. | Unlimited hotspot data, with speeds up to 5 Mbps. |
| Network | T-Mobile | Verizon 5G and 4G LTE |
| Best starting point | Consider it if the offer and prepaid term suit your budget and T-Mobile works well where you use your phone. | Consider it if you want a predictable monthly bill or a large hotspot allowance and 5 Mbps is enough for your devices. |
Mint’s advertised $15 monthly equivalent is an offer for new customers’ initial term, not a month-to-month price. Its standard rates and required upfront payments are listed on Mint’s Unlimited plan page. Visible’s price, tax treatment, and plan details are in its official plan information.

Which plan costs less?
Mint’s offer can lower the initial plan cost
At the offer terms displayed October 9, 2026, Mint charges new customers the equivalent of $15 per month for an initial three-, six-, or twelve-month term. You pay the full term in advance. Taxes and fees are additional, so the amount due at checkout will exceed the advertised plan total. After the offer term, Mint’s listed standard rates are $30 per month for three or twelve months, or $35 per month for six months; check the renewal option and its total before signing up.
Visible makes the monthly total easier to predict
Visible lists its base plan at $25 per month with government taxes included, no contract, and no provider monthly or one-time purchase fees in its plan facts. That makes the listed price more straightforward to budget than Mint’s prepaid offer, though it does not mean Visible will be the cheaper choice for every customer over time. Compare what you will actually pay for your intended period, including Mint’s taxes and renewal rate.

What “unlimited” means for data and speed
Mint: a 50 GB threshold with a specific busy-network condition
Mint describes the first 50 GB on its Unlimited plan as available at 5G/4G LTE speeds. If you use more than 50 GB in a month, Mint says you may experience reduced speeds for the remainder of the cycle in certain locations when the network is busy. This is a conditional slowdown policy, not a promise that every customer will see a fixed speed reduction at exactly 50 GB.
Visible: unlimited plan data, with possible temporary slowdowns
Visible also advertises unlimited data, but warns that traffic may temporarily slow compared with other traffic during busy periods. That disclosure is not the same as Mint’s stated 50 GB threshold. Visible’s premium tiers have separate premium-data terms: Visible+ and Visible+ Pro include unlimited premium data on Verizon 5G/4G LTE when 5G Ultra Wideband is unavailable, with additional terms for Ultra Wideband described in the plan footnotes. See Visible’s current plan details if you are considering a premium tier.

Visible’s Broadband Facts list typical download speeds of 20–148 Mbps and typical upload speeds of 2–15 Mbps for its 5G/4G LTE base plan. These are carrier-disclosed typical ranges, not an independent comparison with Mint or a guarantee of the speed you will receive.

Hotspot: compare both data allowance and speed
The key difference is the trade-off between an allowance and a speed cap. Mint’s Unlimited plan includes up to 20 GB of hotspot data. Visible’s base plan advertises unlimited hotspot data, but its speed is capped at up to 5 Mbps. “Unlimited” therefore describes the amount of hotspot data, not an uncapped connection speed.

Visible lists higher hotspot speed ceilings on its paid-up tiers: up to 10 Mbps on Visible+ and up to 15 Mbps on Visible+ Pro. Those tiers cost more than the $25 base plan; the listed prices are $35 and $45 per month, respectively, with taxes included. These are still capped speeds, not promises of a specific real-world result. For frequent laptop work, large downloads, or video calls, consider whether the amount of hotspot data or the speed ceiling is the more important constraint.
Which network works better where you live?
Mint uses T-Mobile’s network, while Visible uses Verizon 5G and 4G LTE. Neither carrier is a universal coverage winner: reception and performance depend on the places you use service, your phone’s capabilities, and network availability. A national comparison cannot tell you whether service will be reliable inside your home, at work, or along your regular routes.

- Confirm the exact phone model is compatible with the carrier and network you intend to use.

Check phone compatibility before switching
Both options require a compatible device. Mint supports bringing your own phone and advises customers to check compatibility; its eSIM guidance requires an unlocked device. Do not assume that every unlocked phone will work on both networks. Use the carrier’s current compatibility information for your exact model and confirm eSIM support if you plan to activate digitally. Mint’s guidance is available in its plan and compatibility FAQs; check Visible’s current plan information for its device requirements.
Choose Mint if you value the introductory price; choose Visible if you value monthly predictability
Mint is a stronger fit when
- You qualify for the new-customer offer and can pay the full term upfront.
- You expect to keep the service through that term and have checked the standard renewal price.
- T-Mobile coverage suits the places you use your phone.
- Your data use and hotspot needs fit the plan’s stated thresholds and allowance.
Visible base is a stronger fit when
- You prefer a monthly bill with taxes included and no contract.
- You value unlimited hotspot data and can work within the up-to-5-Mbps hotspot speed cap.
- Verizon coverage works well at your home, work, and regular destinations.
Consider Visible+ separately if you need its premium-data terms
Visible+ and Visible+ Pro are different, higher-priced plans, not the $25 base offer. Compare their current data-priority terms and hotspot speed caps against your needs before choosing one.
