Before reinstalling or changing your save, verify your platform’s installed version, apply any pending update, fully restart the game, and reopen map selection. Is the Mini Motorways Rome update out?
There is no official confirmation of a Rome map in the developer and platform information reviewed through October 19, 2026. That means there is currently no supported unlock sequence, code, purchase or download that can add Rome to an ordinary installation.

A video, social post, search result or mod page can therefore be showing fan-made content, a concept, a test build, speculation or a different game. None of those is evidence that Rome is part of the current official build. Wait for a direct announcement from Dinosaur Polo Club before treating the map as released.

The distinction is important: a released map can be missing because your store or game is behind, whereas an unannounced map cannot be repaired by refreshing files. Identify which situation you have before taking disruptive steps.
Use four checks to identify the real cause
Compare your situation against these four axes. They prevent a rumor from being mistaken for a technical fault.

Fixes to try, in order
1. Confirm the platform and installed build
- Open the store or library page for Mini Motorways on the device where you play.
- Look for an Update, Download, Install or pending-download control. If one is present, let it finish on a stable connection.
- Open the game’s information or properties area and note the installed version number and the date of the latest release notes shown by that platform.
- Compare that information with the dated official update history. A map listed in release notes can appear only after the corresponding build has been installed.
- Check free storage and the device’s automatic-update setting if the store repeatedly leaves the download pending. Do not assume that an update shown on another platform has reached yours.
Store labels vary, but the goal is the same: establish whether the executable and content files are current. A trailer or news item from a different platform does not prove that your installation has that build.

2. Let an in-progress update finish
If the store reports that Mini Motorways is updating, do not launch the game from an old shortcut while the process is incomplete. Pause other large downloads if your platform is struggling, keep the device powered, and wait until the store reports completion. Then check the installed version again.
If the update is stuck, canceling and restarting the store download is generally less destructive than deleting the game. Make sure you have enough storage and that the device can reach the platform service. A failed download can leave the game on its previous map list, but it still cannot explain a Rome map that has never been officially released.
3. Fully quit and relaunch Mini Motorways
- Exit to the platform interface rather than merely leaving the game suspended.
- Close the application from the platform’s running-app or task list.
- Launch it again after the store has finished any update.
- Open the map-selection screen and inspect the complete list, scrolling if the interface has more entries than fit on one page.
If the store says the game is current but the old list remains, restart the device and repeat the check. This refreshes cached application and store state. It does not unlock content that is not included in the installed build, so a successful restart is not proof that Rome should be present.
4. Open the normal map-selection screen
Check the screen used to choose a map for a new game, rather than relying on a recent-game tile, a saved challenge or a mode-specific shortcut. Read the labels and locked indicators exactly as displayed. A map can be unavailable to a particular profile or mode even when the game itself is current.

The official Apple notes say that Creative Mode is available on every map already unlocked. That wording sets a boundary: Creative Mode expands how you play an unlocked map; it does not add maps that are absent from the build or profile. Switching modes, creating a new profile or reopening an old save therefore cannot manufacture Rome.
5. Check that you are looking at the right platform account
When a game is installed on more than one device, verify that the store account and game installation are the ones you intend to use. A tablet can be current while a desktop installation is not, and a console can have a separate update queue. Compare the version number on the device where Rome appears to be missing, not on a second device used for reference.
Do not buy a second copy, download an unrelated package or restore an old installation simply to test an unconfirmed map. Those actions change your installation without providing evidence that Rome exists in an official release.

Why videos, mods and search results can be misleading
Search engines often combine official announcements with fan concepts, old previews and pages that repeat one another. A thumbnail titled “Rome update” may describe a wish list or an unofficial modification. Mods can add roads, scenery or a custom map on a platform that permits them, but mod content is not part of the standard Dinosaur Polo Club release and can require a particular version.

Use a simple verification rule:
- Look for a dated announcement or release note from Dinosaur Polo Club or the platform listing.
- Check that the announcement names Mini Motorways, the map and the platform or version that receives it.
- Confirm that your own store has installed that version.
- Treat material without those details as unverified.
Until those checks succeed, the correct diagnosis is “Rome is not confirmed,” not “Rome failed to install.”

The troubleshooting path changes if the missing item is a map that appears by name in the official release notes for your platform and version. In that case, document the mismatch before reinstalling.
Capture the evidence
- Platform: Steam, Apple device or console, including the model where relevant.
- Operating-system version, if the platform displays it.
- Mini Motorways version number and the date the store says it was installed.
- The map-selection screen, including any lock icon or message.
- The store/library page showing that the update completed.
- The exact sequence that leads to the missing map, such as opening the game, selecting a profile, choosing a mode and scrolling the map list.
Use the platform’s normal screenshot function and avoid sharing account passwords, payment details or unrelated personal information.
Contact Dinosaur Polo Club support
Steam’s official support entry identifies Dinosaur Polo Club as the developer and publisher and lists [email protected] for technical issues. Send the evidence in one message, state which officially released map is absent, and include the troubleshooting steps already completed. Support can distinguish a platform entitlement problem from a build or profile issue more quickly when the version and screenshots are present.

Do not describe Rome as a missing released map unless you can cite a later official announcement that specifically confirms it. If the question is about Rome, say that you found references to it but cannot locate an official release notice, then ask whether a release exists for your platform.
Should you reinstall Mini Motorways?
Reinstallation is a last resort for a confirmed installation problem, not a method for unlocking an unannounced map. It replaces local application files but cannot add content that the developer has not shipped to your platform. Before considering it, make sure the store reports the current build, the application is fully closed, and you have checked how your platform handles saved data and cloud synchronization.
If support asks you to reinstall, follow its platform-specific instructions. Keep the account that owns the game signed in, allow the download to complete, launch once, and check the version before opening an old save. If the map is still absent after a clean, current installation, send the new version and screenshot to support instead of repeating the same reinstall cycle.
How future Rome announcements would change the diagnosis
A future official announcement could establish a map name, release date, platform coverage and any unlock conditions. Once that information exists, use it as the reference point:
- Read the announcement and release notes for the supported platform.
- Wait for the platform store to offer the corresponding update.
- Install it and verify the version number.
- Restart Mini Motorways and open map selection.
- Check any stated profile, mode or progression requirement.
- Contact support if the announced map remains absent from a current build after those checks.
Until then, the four-update 2026 roadmap provides timing windows but does not identify Rome. The presence of a December window, for example, is not a promise that the December update will be Rome.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming every search result is an official release. Verify the publisher and date.
- Confusing a roadmap with a complete map list. A roadmap can reserve update windows without naming every feature.
- Changing modes to unlock absent content. Creative Mode applies to maps already unlocked.
- Reinstalling before checking the version. An old or pending build is usually the first fact to establish.
- Comparing different platforms. A map or version on one storefront may not be available on another.
- Sending support an incomplete report. Platform, device, version, screenshot and reproduction steps are the useful minimum.
