Is Minecraft Dungeons II split-screen?
If by “split-screen” you mean playing together on the same TV, yes: the game supports couch co-op, and Xbox Wire describes the group as sharing a single screen. The official material calls this couch or local co-op; it does not establish a separate split-screen mode with divided views.

The game-wide announcement says up to four players can play in online or couch co-op. Xbox’s store listing is more specific for that platform: it lists local co-op for 2–4 players. Those statements confirm the shared-screen option, but do not establish a separate local player count for every platform.
How to start local co-op
The official sources confirm that couch co-op is supported, but do not document the exact steps for adding a player—such as which button to press, how to select a local profile, or when another controller can join. Use the in-game prompts and check your platform’s controller and account requirements rather than relying on generic button instructions.

Can local and online players join the same game?
Yes. In an official Xbox podcast, design director Laura de Llorens said players can mix couch co-op and online play—for example, local friends playing alongside friends elsewhere. The interview does not specify how many local players can be included in a mixed session, so the documented overall limit is up to four players, not a confirmed local-and-remote combination. What happens when someone manages their gear?
Xbox Wire’s Gamescom 2026 hands-on report says couch co-op players can open mini inventory menus simultaneously, so one player can sort gear without making everyone else wait. This describes a feature shown in that report, not a platform-by-platform confirmation of identical behavior.
