For Kansas football player availability, use the Big 12’s official football availability-reporting portal. The conference says reports are housed exclusively at Big12Sports.com. Check the portal for the specific game, then check again near kickoff: availability can change, and a designation is not a diagnosis or a guarantee of playing time.
Where to find Kansas football availability reports
The Big 12 portal is the source for official game-status reports. Its football reporting page links to current reports and an archive of previous reports. Follow the reporting-home link there, select the relevant Kansas game, and use the date and time shown with the report to identify how current it is.

Kansas Athletics’ football page is useful for the schedule, team news, media resources, and official team coverage. It is not a substitute for the Big 12 availability report. Coach or player comments can provide on-record context, but should not be treated as an updated official status designation.
When the Big 12 posts reports
The Big 12’s published football policy says reporting begins three days before a game, with updates posted at 9 p.m. Central Time. The conference’s August 13, 2025 announcement says the sequence culminates in a final report 90 minutes before kickoff. These are the conference’s stated reporting times; consult the live portal for the report applicable to a particular game.

- Return close to kickoff to see the latest official report available under the stated schedule.
The Big 12 policy page links a PDF titled “Updated Big 12 Player Availability Policy for 2026 FB Season,” dated September 2, 2026. The PDF’s text is not available in the linked page content, so the accessible HTML policy wording may not reflect every change in that revision. Check the live policy page and current report for the operative guidance.
What the status labels mean
The Big 12 policy uses one set of labels for reports during the week and a smaller set for game day. The percentages below are the conference’s definitions for its categories, not clinical probabilities or independently validated predictions.
Rank #2

| Weekly designation | Big 12 policy meaning |
|---|---|
| Available | The player will play. The policy also says to use this designation when a player previously appeared on a report and is now expected to participate. |
| Probable | Probable to play; the policy associates the label with a 75% chance to play. |
| Questionable | Uncertain to play; the policy associates the label with a 50% chance to play. |
| Doubtful | Unlikely to play; the policy associates the label with a 25% chance to play. |
| Out | Will not play; the policy associates the label with a 0% chance to play. |
| Out (1st Half) | A first-half suspension under the NCAA targeting rule; the policy does not specify a chance-to-play percentage for this label. |
On game day, the policy lists available, game time decision, and out. A game time decision means coaches and/or medical personnel need to evaluate the player during pregame warmups before deciding whether the player can participate.
What an injury report does—and does not—tell you
“Out” does not necessarily mean injured. The Big 12’s definition includes injury and illness, but also suspension, eligibility or legal issues, and personal matters. Do not infer a diagnosis, severity, or recovery timeline from an availability label alone.

The report concerns whether a player is expected to participate in the upcoming game. It does not establish playing time, role, or performance, and even a late report does not guarantee what will happen on the field. For an explanation beyond the designation, look for a team announcement or attributable reporting rather than treating the status label as medical detail.
