Make sure the Metro SIM is active and mobile data is enabled. Samsung notes that access to Mobile networks may depend on an active SIM or mobile connection.

Tap the three-dot More options menu, select Reset to default, and confirm by tapping Reset.

Restart the phone. Turn Wi-Fi off and try loading a webpage or using an app that needs cellular data.
Samsung says, “Incorrect APN settings may prevent the device from connecting to the mobile network.” Its menu labels and layout can vary by model and software version, so look for the equivalent APN and reset options if your screen differs. Samsung’s APN troubleshooting instructions explain the reset path.

Should you enter MetroPCS APN settings manually?
Start with the carrier-provisioned defaults rather than typing in an APN profile from an unofficial list. Metro’s official troubleshooting guidance covers network checks but does not provide APN field values in the material available here. If the default reset does not restore data, ask Metro for the correct instructions for your specific Samsung model and SIM.
T-Mobile’s separate BYOD APN guide includes fast.t-mobile.com for LTE devices, but that does not establish that it is the correct Metro profile for every Metro Samsung phone. Do not substitute it—or older MetroPCS APN strings found on third-party sites—unless Metro confirms the values for your device and account.

If mobile data still does not work

Check service and activation: Confirm the phone shows cellular service and that the SIM and account are active.

Check network mode: Metro’s troubleshooting recommends setting network mode to Auto.

Install available software updates: Metro includes updating the device among its troubleshooting steps.

Ask Metro for device-specific help: If the APN menu is missing or resetting it changes nothing, contact Metro support or visit a Metro store and request guidance for your exact phone and SIM.

An APN reset restores the Access Point Name profile from the Access Point Names screen. Samsung’s separate mobile-network reset is found under Settings > General management > Reset > Reset mobile network settings. These are different actions; a broader network reset can affect other network settings, and its effects can vary by device and software version. Use the APN reset first when the issue is specifically an APN configuration problem. Samsung describes both options in its network troubleshooting guidance.
