The game’s editions include 64-page physical or digital artbook bonuses in certain regions and bundles, while a separate 224-page standalone hardcover is planned for March 2027. Which one fits depends on whether you want a bundled collectible, platform-based digital access, or a larger print volume focused on development art.

What comes with the game editions?
ATLUS Asia’s physical Premium Artbook
ATLUS/SEGA Asia describes a B5, 64-page softcover Premium Artbook in its physical anniversary edition. Its stated scope includes illustrations, concept art, and material that did not make it into the final game. The edition also bundles music CDs, an ATLUS history book, an acrylic stand, stickers, DLC, and the physical game; ATLUS says the limited-edition contents are in Japanese. This is a regional product description, not confirmation that an identical package is sold in every territory.

The digital artbook is an application bonus rather than a printed book. Nintendo’s US Switch 2 listing specifies 64 pages and describes newly drawn key visuals, character concept art, design materials created for Metaphor: ReFantazio, and previously unreleased illustrations. It lists Japanese and English as available languages for the bonus and a November 12, 2026 release date. Those details apply to that listing and should not be assumed for every platform or region.

On the US PlayStation Store, a Digital Artbook is included in both the Digital Anniversary Edition and Guidebook Edition. The Guidebook Edition also lists an Essential Digital Strategy Guide and soundtrack among its contents. That listing describes a digital bundle; it does not establish that PlayStation offers a physical standalone artbook. Check the US PlayStation listing for its current edition contents.
What is the standalone hardcover?
The Art of Metaphor: ReFantazio is a separate 224-page hardcover by Kelly Knox, listed by Simon & Schuster Canada for March 9, 2027. Its description promises concept art, evolving character designs, and insights into development. Titan Books also catalogs a hardback for the same planned date. These are future publication listings, not evidence that the book is already available.
The regional catalog records list different ISBNs: 9798337406282 for the North American listing and 9781807591649 for the UK listing. Because it is a standalone volume, it is distinct from the 64-page artbook bonuses packaged with selected game editions. Its longer page count is a specification, not proof by itself that it contains more of any particular kind of art.

Is there another physical artbook in the Collector’s Edition?
ATLUS’s official game page lists a Collector’s Edition that includes a physical artbook and other collectibles, but that page does not state the artbook’s page count. Do not assume it is the same item as either the Asia Premium Artbook or the forthcoming 224-page Kelly Knox hardcover. The listed contents and availability are edition- and region-specific; consult the official ATLUS game page for its Collector’s Edition information.
Which option should you choose?
- Choose a physical game bundle if you want a printed artbook alongside the game and collectibles, and the specific edition is available in your market. Confirm its language and listed contents before buying.
- Choose a digital edition or bundle if you want art on a supported platform without a separate print volume. Verify the edition, region, bonus language, and release timing on that platform’s store page.
- Wait for the standalone hardcover if you want a larger print volume explicitly described as covering concept art, character design evolution, and development. Its catalog listings give a planned March 9, 2027 date, so publication details may change.
The game credits Shigenori Soejima as character designer and Kazuma Koda as concept artist, but those credits do not identify which creator’s work appears in any particular artbook. The available product descriptions also do not support a hands-on quality ranking between the options.
