On May 1, 2025, Verizon began rolling out Samsung’s Android 15-based One UI 7 to ten additional Galaxy phone and foldable models in the United States. The release was carrier-specific and staged, so it did not arrive simultaneously for every owner or market.
This is historical rollout coverage: Samsung now identifies One UI 8 as its latest software. The May 2025 update remains useful for checking which Verizon devices were included and what owners could expect from One UI 7.

Which ten Galaxy models were included?
The “ten devices” were individual models, not ten entire product families. The May 1 report listed these Verizon U.S. firmware builds:

What One UI 7 changes
One UI 7 is Samsung’s interface and feature layer built on Android 15. It is not the same experience as Google’s stock Android 15: Samsung adds its own design, settings, applications and device-specific restrictions. Samsung’s broader rollout announcement is available at Samsung Newsroom.
Separate notifications and Quick Settings
By default, One UI 7 separates the two panels:
- Swipe down from the top-left or center for notifications.
- Swipe down from the top-right for Quick Settings.
- Swipe horizontally between the panels.
To restore a combined panel, open Quick Settings, tap the pencil (Edit) icon, choose Panel settings, then Notification and quick settings view and Together. Samsung documents the layout controls at its U.S. support page.

AI and search tools
Samsung highlights AI Select, Writing Assist, Drawing Assist, Audio Eraser, deeper Google Gemini integration and natural-language searches in Settings on supported devices. These are not guaranteed across all ten models. Samsung says availability can depend on model, carrier, network, language, account status and compatible content; some functions require a Samsung account, Google account or internet connection. AI results can also vary and are not guaranteed to be accurate.
How to check for One UI 7
- Open Settings.
- Tap Software update. Some carrier software labels this System updates.
- Tap Download and install.
- If prompted, choose Check for system updates or Check for software updates.
- If an update is offered, download and install it.
- After restarting, open Settings → About phone → Software information to verify the Android and One UI versions.
Use Wi-Fi when possible, connect the phone to power or charge it first, keep enough free storage available and back up important data before a major operating-system upgrade. Samsung’s full instructions are at Samsung Support.

Why the update might not appear
A May 1 start date did not mean every eligible phone received an over-the-air update that day. Samsung says timing can vary by country, carrier network and model, and deployments may be phased or temporarily paused.
Quick troubleshooting checklist
- Confirm the exact model number and whether it is a Verizon variant.
- Restart the phone and check Software update again.
- Use a stable Wi-Fi connection and ensure adequate storage.
- Install any pending prerequisite updates.
- Check Samsung Members or Verizon support for rollout notices.
- Avoid flashing firmware from another region merely to force an update unless you understand the model-specific risks and requirements.
Eligibility is not the same as feature support
There are four separate questions:
- OS eligibility: whether the phone receives Android 15 and One UI 7.
- Feature eligibility: whether a particular AI, camera, lock-screen or productivity tool runs on that hardware.
- Regional availability: whether Samsung enables the function for the country and language in use.
- Account and network requirements: whether Samsung or Google sign-in, internet access, a compatible app or supported media is required.
Samsung’s compatibility information confirms the S21 and S22 generations and the Fold3, Flip3, Fold4 and Flip4 as One UI 7-eligible families, but eligibility does not promise one release date, build number or complete feature set in every market. Its regional upgrade guidance is available at Samsung’s One UI 7 support page.

It will NOT work with other CDMA carriers, and it is also not compatible with their MVNO (Visible, Xfinity Mobile, US Mobile, Cricket Wireless, etc).

What this rollout means
The Verizon release extended Samsung’s Android 15 deployment to 2021–2022 flagship phones and foldables, including the S21 and S22 lines and the third- and fourth-generation Z Fold and Z Flip. Owners should identify the exact model and carrier before comparing build numbers, then use the normal software-update screen rather than assuming a simultaneous global release.
