What is the new weapon grade?
Eternity is a new T4 weapon grade positioned above Ancient in MapleStory: Idle RPG. Nexon’s October 15, 2026 patch notes describe it as “A new T4 Eternity weapon grade, higher than Ancient, has been added.” The update was previewed on October 8 and implemented on October 15.

Promotion materials: five Ancient T1 weapons
The direct route to Eternity is a promotion conversion. Nexon’s official requirement is one Eternity T4 weapon for five Ancient T1 weapons. The patch note states: “One Eternity T4 weapon can be obtained by promoting 5 Ancient T1 weapons.”
What you must have
- Five Ancient T1 weapons.
- Access to the weapon-promotion feature that accepts those Ancient T1 weapons.
The five weapons are the only named inputs in the official recipe. No additional promotion material is listed in the October 15 notice. That means the published requirement is not five Ancient weapons plus Weapon Enhancers, summon tickets, diamonds or another separately named currency.
How the promotion path works
- Collect Ancient T1 weapons. Keep a separate count of Ancient T1 copies rather than assuming that any Ancient weapon tier or type will qualify. The published recipe specifically says Ancient T1.
- Open the game’s weapon-promotion interface. Use the in-game promotion option that lists eligible Ancient weapons. The exact menu wording can vary with the live client, so confirm that the destination shown is an Eternity T4 weapon before accepting.
- Select five eligible Ancient T1 weapons. Check every selected item, especially if the game allows weapons from different sets or categories. Do not consume a weapon you still need for another upgrade or loadout.
- Confirm the promotion. The official recipe describes a conversion of five Ancient T1 weapons into one Eternity T4 weapon. Once confirmed, the five inputs are spent and the resulting Eternity weapon is added to your inventory.
Promotion is deterministic once the five qualifying weapons are available: you are exchanging a known quantity of Ancient T1 weapons for one Eternity T4 weapon, rather than rolling an unlisted chance. The patch notes do not state a separate promotion fee, cooldown or secondary item requirement.

Yes. Summoning is a separate acquisition route, not an alternative material recipe for promotion. Nexon’s update materials add Weapon Summoning Level 19, where Eternity T4 weapons become available from Weapon Summoning at a set probability. The October 15 patch notes also state: “A guaranteed weapon summon for Eternity T4 weapons is now available at Level 19.”

What the summon route requires
- Progression to Weapon Summoning Level 19.
- Access to the Weapon Summoning system and whatever summon attempts the live game makes available to your account.
- For the guaranteed route, the Level 19 guarantee described by Nexon.
The official passages do not publish a numeric probability for an Eternity result. Therefore, the chance should be described only as a set probability; no percentage can be confirmed from the patch notes. Likewise, the notice confirms that a guaranteed Eternity weapon summon exists at Level 19 but does not specify additional terms in the quoted information.
Why summoning is not the same as promotion
Promotion consumes five Ancient T1 weapons that you already own. Summoning instead uses the Weapon Summoning progression system and its Level 19 access condition. A summon can provide an Eternity weapon without your first assembling five Ancient T1 copies, but the result follows the summon system’s stated probability or guarantee rather than a five-item conversion.

Neither route is universally “cheaper” from the published information. Promotion has a clear five-weapon input, while summoning has a progression gate and an unstated numeric probability. The practical choice depends on which resource you are currently closer to completing.

The only confirmed promotion material is an Ancient T1 weapon. Five are required for one Eternity T4 result. The tier designation matters: the official wording does not say “five Ancient weapons” without qualification; it says five Ancient T1 weapons.

Not named as promotion materials
Nexon’s recipe does not name Weapon Enhancers, summon tickets, diamonds, gold, crystals or any other currency as an additional promotion input. Do not treat a general upgrade currency shown elsewhere in the interface as part of the Eternity recipe unless a later official notice explicitly adds it.
Information that remains unstated
- The October 15 patch notes do not give a percentage for the Eternity result in Weapon Summoning.
- The quoted recipe does not publish a separate numeric promotion fee.

How to plan for your first Eternity weapon
If you already have several Ancient T1 weapons
- Count only Ancient T1 copies that the promotion screen marks as eligible.
- Set aside five copies for the conversion instead of using them for unrelated upgrades.
- Review the result preview for the T4 Eternity destination and confirm the number of consumed items.
- Promote when the deterministic upgrade is more valuable to your progression than retaining the five individual weapons.
If you have fewer than five Ancient T1 weapons
You cannot complete the published promotion recipe until the fifth qualifying weapon is available. Continue tracking the deficit explicitly—for example, four of five—so that other Ancient weapons or non-T1 items are not mistaken for valid inputs. You may pursue Weapon Summoning progression at the same time, but reaching Level 19 is a separate objective.

If Weapon Summoning Level 19 is closer
Prioritize the summoning progression gate if your account is near Level 19 and your Ancient T1 inventory is still far from five copies. At Level 19, Eternity T4 weapons are included in Weapon Summoning at a set probability, and Nexon says a guaranteed Eternity weapon summon is available there. Because the numeric probability and full guarantee terms are not published in the cited passages, inspect the Level 19 summon panel for the live details before committing attempts.

If you are deciding between both routes
- Choose promotion when five Ancient T1 weapons are already secured and you want a predictable conversion.
- Choose summoning when Weapon Summoning Level 19 is available or nearly available and you prefer to use that system rather than consume five Ancient copies.
- Keep separate records for Ancient T1 inventory and Weapon Summoning Level 19; progress in one category does not satisfy the other route’s requirement.
Common mistakes to avoid
Confusing weapon grades with weapon tiers
Eternity is the weapon grade, while T4 identifies its tier in the official wording. The input is specifically Ancient T1. A higher-looking Ancient item is not automatically a valid substitute unless the promotion interface confirms it.
Assuming every Ancient weapon can be merged
The requirement is five Ancient T1 weapons, not an unspecified collection of five Ancient weapons. Verify each item in the game’s selection screen before confirming.
Inventing a summon percentage
No numeric Weapon Summoning probability appears in the cited official passages. Guides or screenshots that show a percentage may reflect a different client, later notice or unverified interpretation. Use the probability displayed by your current game client if Nexon later publishes one.

Summoning and promotion use different systems. The five-Ancient rule applies to promotion; Level 19 and the summon probability or guarantee apply to Weapon Summoning. Do not combine the requirements into a single recipe.

Importing mechanics from another MapleStory game
MapleStory: Idle RPG has its own weapon progression. Rules from the PC game or MapleStory M should not be used to calculate Eternity materials here.
