Choose what opens when the TV turns on
The setting controls startup behavior, not the artwork or visual layout of the Smart Hub home screen. When Start with Smart Hub Home is enabled, the TV opens Smart Hub Home. When disabled, it opens the last-used source. Samsung’s instructions describe returning to the last-used source; they do not document a picker that sets any arbitrary input as the startup source.

If you want the TV to show a cable box, game console, antenna, or another connected device, use that source and turn off Smart Hub startup. The TV’s documented behavior is to return to the last-used source.
Find the setting for your Samsung TV’s model year
Menu labels and locations vary by model, software version, and region. Try the route for your TV’s model year; Samsung’s regional instructions may not exactly match the English labels on your screen.

Samsung warns that menu names and screenshots can differ by model and software. The Colombia support page applies to products bought in Colombia; if your TV is from another region or the setting is missing, check Samsung support for your TV’s region and model.
Change Smart Hub startup on a supported newer model
- Press Home on the remote.
- Open Settings > All Settings.
- Choose Advanced Features > Start Screen Option. On some model years, look under General & Privacy instead.
- Turn Start with Smart Hub Home on to open Smart Hub when the TV starts, or turn it off to return to the last-used source.
These labels follow Samsung’s 2025–2026 Colombia guidance and 2025 Gulf guidance; older TVs use the model-year paths above. The instructions describe toggling the setting and do not specify a restart as a universal requirement.

Keep startup options separate
Autorun Last App
Some models offer Autorun Last App, a separate setting intended to open the last-used app. Samsung notes that support depends on the app, so this option is not guaranteed to launch every streaming app or work on every TV. It is not the same as choosing Smart Hub Home or the last-used input. Samsung Gulf’s model-year overview.

Multi View autorun
Some TVs also have separate autorun controls for phone mirroring or casting in Multi View. These control Multi View behavior, not the ordinary startup choice between Smart Hub and the last-used source. Samsung says the rotation-triggered option, Auto-launch Multi View on rotation, requires an Auto Rotating Accessory sold separately; that accessory is not needed to change the normal startup setting. If the TV still opens the wrong screen
- Smart Hub still appears: Reopen the startup setting and confirm Start with Smart Hub Home is off and the change was selected.
- You want an HDMI device: Turn off Smart Hub startup and make that device the last-used source; the documented setting returns to the last-used source rather than letting you nominate any input independently.
- The last app does not open: Check whether that app supports Autorun Last App.
- You cannot find the setting: Confirm the TV’s model year or model code, then consult Samsung support for the model and purchase region. Paths and labels vary.
Samsung Colombia’s overview was updated October 1, 2026; Samsung Gulf’s 2025 model instructions were updated May 20, 2025, its model-year overview April 30, 2024, and Samsung Spain’s corroborating guidance June 16, 2022.
