Make vs. n8n for Bulk Webpage Screenshot Workflows

n8n documents Allscreenshots jobs of up to 100 URLs; Make documents direct capture actions but no comparable batch limit. Here’s how to choose and estimate cost.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For a documented bulk screenshot workflow, n8n has the clearer starting point: its Allscreenshots integration lists asynchronous jobs for batches of up to 100 URLs, with status and result operations. Make offers GetScreenshot modules for webpage and element captures, plus usage lookup and generic API calls, but its app documentation does not specify a comparable batch limit. Neither platform is proven faster or cheaper for the same workload by the available documentation; your choice depends on batch handling, billing design, and whether you want to operate infrastructure yourself.

What Make and n8n do in a screenshot workflow

Make and n8n orchestrate steps; the screenshot itself is produced by an integration or screenshot API. In Make, the documented GetScreenshot app provides capture actions. In n8n, you can use the Allscreenshots integration or call GetScreenshot through the generic HTTP Request node. That distinction matters: workflow-platform billing is only one part of the cost, alongside the screenshot service, storage, retries, and any infrastructure you run.

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

  • Make: a visual scenario can pass each URL to a documented webpage- or element-capture action. The app listing also includes usage lookup and generic API calls. Make GetScreenshot app documentation notes that some content is AI-generated and advises checking vendor documentation for important details.
  • n8n: the Allscreenshots integration listing describes bulk jobs, asynchronous capture, status and result actions, quota tracking, and completion/failure workflows. The separate GetScreenshot plus HTTP Request route offers a way to call the API directly. See n8n’s Allscreenshots integration and GetScreenshot with HTTP Request.

Which one handles a list of URLs better?

n8n: documented batches and job tracking

The Allscreenshots listing says a bulk job can contain up to 100 URLs. It also describes asynchronous processing and operations for checking job status and retrieving results. The 100-URL figure is a capability listed for that integration, not a universal n8n limit or a verified throughput guarantee. Check the screenshot provider’s current account quota before designing larger runs.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Make: direct capture actions, batch limit not stated

Make’s GetScreenshot listing documents webpage and element screenshot actions, but it does not state a batch size. That is not proof that Make cannot process batches: a scenario can be designed around records or API calls, and the app listing includes generic API calls. It does mean the documented source does not establish a comparable built-in batch limit. Confirm the current integration behavior and provider quota before committing to a large run.

For either platform, build around one input record per URL and preserve a result record for each one. A useful record includes the normalized URL, capture settings, timestamp, outcome, and returned image or download location. For a long-running list, asynchronous jobs with status polling or completion callbacks can keep the workflow from treating a queued job as a finished screenshot.

How to choose for your workflow

Priority Best starting point What to verify
Visual setup and a direct capture action Make’s GetScreenshot modules Current provider quotas, available capture settings, and how the scenario handles multiple URL records.
Bulk jobs, asynchronous processing, explicit status and result operations n8n’s Allscreenshots integration Whether the provider’s current limits and job lifecycle meet your workload; the listing’s 100-URL batch figure is integration-specific.

Which is cheaper for bulk website screenshots?

There is no established cost winner without a matched workflow and current plan assumptions. Compare the number of workflow actions or executions, then add the screenshot API’s own charges, storage, retries, and—in a self-hosted n8n deployment—infrastructure and maintenance.

Make: credits follow module actions

Make’s current pricing page, accessed in 2026, lists 1,000 credits per month on Free and a 15-minute minimum interval between runs; Core scheduling is listed down to the minute. The page says most module actions count as one credit and describes usage allowances per 10,000 licensed credits. Its billing explanation says: “Each module action in your scenario, like adding a Google Sheets row or fetching Gmail account data, counts as one credit.” A per-URL loop can therefore consume credits repeatedly as its modules run. Check Make’s pricing page for current terms, since plan details can change.

n8n: paid-plan billing by completed workflow execution

In its August 2025 pricing update, n8n said paid plans would charge based on executions—workflows running from start to finish—and removed active workflow limits. One execution can include multiple nodes, so compare your actual workflow shape rather than equating a node with an execution. The notice also says the instance must be updated to the latest version for the pricing changes to apply. Verify current tiers and allowances at n8n’s pricing update.

To make a useful estimate, sketch a representative run: number of URLs, workflow runs, modules or nodes per URL, retries, storage steps, and expected failed captures. Then apply the current workflow-platform plan and screenshot-provider terms to that design. Make’s Make vs. n8n comparison page is vendor-authored, so use official plan pages rather than that comparison for current pricing claims.

A reliable bulk-capture workflow

  1. Prepare the input. Validate and normalize each URL, and keep the original value if you need to trace redirects or input errors.
  2. Choose the artifact and settings. Decide whether you need a viewport capture or a full-page capture, along with viewport/device and other options supported by your screenshot provider.
  3. Call the capture service. Use the integration action or an HTTP request. Keep API credentials in the platform’s credential store rather than embedding secrets in URL records.
  4. Handle async work as a job. Where the service queues captures, retain its job identifier, check status, and retrieve results only when complete. Use completion/failure paths to record outcomes rather than assuming a submitted job succeeded.
  5. Control load and retries. Cap concurrency to the provider’s quota. Retry transient failures with sensible limits, but avoid endlessly repeating permanent errors such as invalid URLs or rejected credentials.
  6. Persist a result per input. Store the URL, timestamp, status, error details, and image or download location. Make reruns idempotent so retrying a batch does not silently duplicate downstream records.
  7. Test a representative sample. Include JavaScript-heavy pages, redirects, consent dialogs, mobile and desktop viewports, and long pages. Check the actual returned artifacts and confirm the provider supports the capture behavior you require.

Speed, reliability, and operating trade-offs

The available product documentation does not establish end-to-end throughput, capture fidelity, concurrency, geographic capture regions, or a speed comparison between Make and n8n. A workflow that submits jobs quickly may still wait on rendering, provider quotas, or result retrieval. Compare the tools using the same URL list, viewport and full-page settings, concurrency, retry rules, storage destination, and plan assumptions; otherwise the result will not isolate the workflow platform.

This allows you to easily add a second solid-state drive for up to an additional 2TB of storage capacity (upgrades not included) without needing to remove or reinstall the original operating system.
  • 【Radeon 6-Core Graphics & Triple 4K Displays】 Integrated with official AMD Radeon Graphics (6 Graphics Cores, 1500 MHz frequency) for casual gaming, photo editing, and crisp 4K media decoding. Featuring 1x HDMI 2.0 port, 1x DisplayPort, and 1x Full-Function Type-C port, the E5 outputs true 4K@60Hz resolution to three monitors at once. This multi-screen setup eliminates constant window-switching for traders, programmers, and office workers.
  • 【Dual 2.5GbE LAN Ports for Advanced Networking】 Experience fast wired network transmission speeds up to 2500Mbps without lagging or buffering. The integration of dual 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports (powered by Realtek RTL8125 controller) makes this compact computer an exceptional hardware choice for tech enthusiasts. Easily configure it into software routers, hardware firewalls (pfSense, OpnSense), home NAS servers, or local homelabs.

Make’s hosted visual scenario model can reduce the need to manage workflow infrastructure, while an n8n self-hosted deployment gives the operator more infrastructure control and also makes hosting and maintenance the operator’s responsibility. The right total-cost comparison depends on a defined deployment; the published documentation does not provide a universal dollar figure for that work.

Common problems and fixes

  • Batch exceeds the listed size: with the Allscreenshots integration, split input into jobs of no more than its documented 100 URLs per bulk job, then confirm current provider limits. Do not treat that integration detail as a platform-wide n8n limit.
  • Make scenario consumes more credits than expected: inspect how many module actions run per URL, including routers, storage, and retries. Recalculate using Make’s current credit terms and actual scenario path.
  • Job submission appears successful but there is no image yet: if the API is asynchronous, submission is not completion. Save the job identifier, use the status/result operations, and handle completion and failure separately.
  • Some URLs fail while the batch proceeds: record per-item status and error information, validate inputs before capture, and retry only transient errors. Preserve successful results so a rerun can target failures.
  • Results are slow or provider calls are throttled: lower concurrency and check the screenshot service’s quota. A workflow platform’s ability to run parallel steps does not establish that the capture provider permits the same concurrency.
  • Costs do not match a simple per-URL estimate: account for each executed Make module or each completed n8n workflow execution, as well as screenshot, storage, retry, and self-hosted infrastructure costs.
  • Captured page differs from what a person sees: test redirects, JavaScript-heavy content, consent flows, viewport settings, and long-page behavior with representative URLs; the cited integration listings do not establish identical rendering behavior across providers.
