To loop Marathi devotional songs on YouTube Live, play a recording or playlist in OBS, connect OBS to a YouTube encoder stream, and start the broadcast from Live Control Room. For one file, use OBS’s Media Source with Loop enabled; for a sequence, use VLC Video with Loop Playlist. Before going live, confirm that you have the necessary rights to broadcast each recording and composition, including any replay you plan to keep.
Choose how the songs will repeat
| What you want to play | OBS source | What to set |
|---|---|---|
| One local audio or video file | Media Source | Enable Loop. OBS Media Source supports common audio and video formats. |
| Several local recordings in a chosen order | VLC Video | Add the files to its playlist and enable Loop Playlist. Leave shuffle off to preserve the order. |
The VLC Video source requires VLC to be installed. If you use 64-bit OBS, install 64-bit VLC. OBS documents playback repetition, but does not promise gapless transitions for every file or system; test the actual playlist and scene before broadcasting. See the OBS Media Sources guide.

Prepare the recording and check permissions
Confirm rights for both the recording and the song
A recording and the underlying composition can have different rights holders. Permission for a song in one context does not automatically establish permission to broadcast a particular recording live, use it in every territory, or keep an archived replay. Identify each recording and composition, then confirm that the relevant license covers the planned live stream, territories, and archive. YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility for necessary rights, including music rights, on the content provider.
Understand interruption and archive risks
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can trigger a warning, a placeholder, interruption, or termination. Even licensed music can interrupt a stream if the rights owner has not added the channel to its Content ID allowlist; ask the licensor about allowlisting before scheduling. An archived live stream may also receive a Content ID claim after the broadcast. Details are in YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams.
#1 Best Overall
If you do not have the needed permissions, consider original or public-domain material, music used with permission, YouTube’s Audio Library, Creator Music where available, or another properly licensed source. Check the specific license for livestream and archive use: a “free” label or credit in the description does not by itself clear rights. YouTube’s copyright overview and safe-music guidance explain options. No particular Marathi devotional catalog or licensing provider is established here.
Set up the loop in OBS
- Prepare the local files. Use audio or video recordings you are authorized to broadcast. Keep the files available on the computer running OBS throughout the stream.
- Add the source. In your OBS scene, add a Media Source for a single recording, or a VLC Video source for multiple recordings.
- Enable repeat. For Media Source, turn on Loop. For VLC Video, add files to the playlist and enable Loop Playlist. Turn off shuffle if the sequence should stay in a specific order.
- Check the scene and sound. Preview the scene and verify that the video, if any, is visible and the audio is reaching OBS’s output mix. Sound routing can vary by computer, so check your actual output rather than assuming it is working.
- Run a test. Confirm playback, repeat behavior, and sound before the public broadcast. OBS recommends a short test stream; see its Quick Start Guide.
Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- Check channel eligibility. YouTube requires a verified channel and no live-streaming restrictions in the prior 90 days. Open YouTube Studio and use Go Live to check the current controls and eligibility. YouTube’s live streaming tips describe the requirements; interface labels and availability can change.
- Create or select an encoder stream. In Live Control Room, create or select a stream for an encoder. This workflow uses OBS; YouTube also provides mobile and webcam streaming options.
- Enter the stream details in OBS. Copy the YouTube stream URL and stream key into OBS’s streaming settings. Treat the key like a password: do not share it or show it in a public screen capture. YouTube explains stream settings in Manage live stream settings.
- Preview the incoming stream. Check Live Control Room for the incoming preview and verify the picture and sound there before starting the public broadcast.
- Start the broadcast. When the preview and rights checks are in order, start streaming from OBS and go live using the current Live Control Room controls.
Troubleshoot common problems
- The same file does not repeat: Check that Loop is enabled on the Media Source, then test playback in the scene.
- The playlist stops after one pass: Confirm Loop Playlist is enabled on the VLC Video source. Check that VLC is installed and matches OBS’s architecture; 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC.
- Songs play in an unexpected order: Turn off shuffle in the VLC playlist and verify the playlist order.
- OBS shows video but there is no sound: Check that the source is playing and that its audio reaches OBS’s output mix. Confirm the actual audio routing on your computer; it is not guaranteed by adding a source.
- YouTube does not show an incoming preview: Recheck the selected encoder stream, stream URL, and key in OBS, and make sure the channel can live stream. Keep the key private; if it has been exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update OBS.
- The broadcast is warned, interrupted, or stopped: A third-party content match may be responsible. Review YouTube’s live copyright guidance and contact the rights holder about the exact recording, composition, and channel allowlisting. A license alone does not guarantee uninterrupted transmission.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you would rather not keep the OBS computer running, StreamNeo keeps an uploaded video or playlist looping to YouTube from the cloud. Upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it streams your upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, and the monthly option is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo plays uploaded videos; it does not broadcast a camera. You remain responsible for music rights and YouTube’s rules. Start your free day with StreamNeo.
