To fix audio out of sync on a StreamVoodoo YouTube stream, first find where the mismatch begins: in the StreamVoodoo room, in OBS, or only in YouTube playback. Recreate it with a short, repeatable action—speak while visible or clap on camera—and compare the room or Magic Link, OBS preview, a local recording, and the YouTube stream. A steady offset and audio that drifts farther out of sync need different investigations.
Find the first point where audio and video diverge
Use the same brief test in each place you can review. Note whether the picture leads the sound or the sound leads the picture, and whether the gap stays roughly constant or grows over time. This comparison helps separate a room-routing issue from an OBS or delivery issue; it is a diagnostic workflow, not a StreamVoodoo-prescribed sync test.

- StreamVoodoo room or Magic Link: Check whether the mismatch is already present before OBS receives the feed.
- OBS preview: Compare the same event in the preview. If it first becomes misaligned here, focus on OBS sources, routing, monitoring, and system load.
- Local recording: Record a short sample and review it. This shows whether the OBS output itself is misaligned, rather than only the audio you hear while monitoring.
- YouTube playback: Compare the archived or available playback with the local recording. If OBS and the recording are aligned but YouTube is not, investigate stream health and the outbound connection.
YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance also recommends inspecting the encoder output, checking encoder errors and CPU load, and reviewing the local archive when stream picture or sound is poor: Troubleshoot your YouTube live stream.

Check audio input, output, and routing
Confirm the selected audio input and output in StreamVoodoo and trace how room audio reaches OBS. StreamVoodoo’s FAQ describes audio routing through an audio-monitor plugin or virtual audio device, but it does not document a dedicated lip-sync diagnosis or adjustment. See the StreamVoodoo WebApp FAQ for its documented routing options.

Distinguish feedback or duplicate audio from a sync offset
When Studio Sound is on, StreamVoodoo recommends headphones to prevent sound from the room speakers entering the microphone and creating feedback or echo. That can address echo, but it is not a guaranteed lip-sync adjustment.
StreamVoodoo also warns that using the same output for room audio and desktop capture can duplicate audio. If you are routing audio back into the room, use a separate output device for StreamVoodoo rather than sending both paths through the same output.

If the mismatch first appears in OBS
Determine whether it is fixed or accumulating
A roughly constant gap points to a different kind of problem than timing that worsens during a longer session. Check the relevant audio and video sources and their routing, then compare the OBS preview with the local recording. A forum discussion on the OBS Project site suggests checking audio refresh-rate mismatch and computer workload when timing varies; these are troubleshooting leads from community participants, not a universal diagnosis. One participant also distinguishes monitoring drift from what appears in a stream or recording, so verify the saved output before changing settings: OBS forum discussion, “Video & audio not in sync problem”.
Use an offset only after measuring the error
Do not enter a delay value by guesswork. First establish which side leads and estimate the size of the gap in the output that actually needs correction. Capture-card instructions can be specific to a device and setup: AVerMedia’s Live Gamer Ultra guide shows an OBS workflow with a Sync Offset range of -50 to -200 ms for that configuration. It is not a universal value for other capture cards, sources, or StreamVoodoo: AVerMedia’s Live Gamer Ultra sync guide.

- PLUG IN AND HEAR SOUND IN SECONDS - USB Type-A connector with a 3.5mm stereo headphone output and a separate 3.5mm mono microphone input. No drivers, no software, no external power - the adapter is USB bus-powered and is recognized as a standard USB audio device.
- WORKS ON WINDOWS, MAC AND LINUX - Driverless on Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista/7/8, Linux and Mac OSX, and compliant with the USB Audio Device Class 1.0 specification, so any system that supports class-compliant USB audio will see it. Select it as the sound output and input device after plugging it in.
- TWO JACKS, TWO JOBS - The green jack is stereo OUT for headphones or powered speakers; the pink jack is mono microphone IN for a 3.5mm mic. It does NOT support 4-pole headsets on a single combo plug, it does NOT power passive speakers, and it does NOT add surround sound - it is a stereo 2-channel adapter.
- FOR LAPTOPS AND DESKTOPS THAT NEED AN AUDIO PORT BACK - Adds a headphone and mic port to a laptop, desktop, or mini PC whose onboard jack has failed or was never there. Managed and work-issued computers can block new USB audio devices by policy - check with your IT department before ordering for a company machine.
- SABRENT SUPPORT AND WARRANTY - What is in the box: one USB audio sound adapter. Backed by a 1-year limited warranty, extended to 2 years when you register within 90 days on the manufacturer's website.
If OBS and the local recording are aligned but YouTube is not
Check YouTube Live Control Room for encoder errors and stream health, inspect CPU load, and compare the local archive with playback. If the local encoder output appears healthy, YouTube’s guidance turns attention to the outbound internet connection; it suggests trying a different encoder if no local-source problem is apparent and contacting the ISP if the outbound connection is faulty.
Dropped frames are a separate clue, not proof that bandwidth caused every sync problem. OBS says dropped frames indicate an unstable connection or one that cannot sustain the configured bitrate. Its stream connection troubleshooting guide covers that network path.

Do not change YouTube latency to correct lip sync
YouTube’s latency settings concern how much delay viewers experience and how much read-ahead buffer is available. Lower latency can make viewers more likely to experience buffering; YouTube does not describe latency mode as a control for relative audio/video alignment. Changing it is therefore not a fix for a mouth-and-voice mismatch. See YouTube’s explanation of live streaming latency.
