Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes is the next set in Wizards of the Coast’s Marvel collaboration, with characters drawn from across the Marvel Universe. But the official announcements reviewed do not confirm that the set tells an original story. The tabletop release was June 26, 2026, and the set is available in multiple product formats, with an Arena release also announced.
What is Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes?
Marvel Super Heroes is a Magic: The Gathering set built around Marvel characters. Wizards announced it as the next release in its Marvel collaboration, saying it would draw on characters ranging from superhero teams to villains. The announcement describes the characters and products, but does not establish a new, original narrative for the set.

The collaboration is broader than a single release. In a September 2025 account of the partnership, Magic designer Mark Rosewater said randomized booster sets would focus on Marvel comics, alongside additional products such as Secret Lair drops. That explains the deal’s direction; it is not confirmation of a Marvel Super Heroes plot. Read Rosewater’s account of the collaboration.
When did Marvel Super Heroes release?
The tabletop release date was June 26, 2026, according to Wizards’ product guide and set archive. Wizards’ collecting guide lists the set’s products and contents; the MTG set archive also records the release date.

What formats are the cards legal in?
Legality depends on which product grouping a card belongs to. Wizards’ guide says the main set is legal in all formats. The Commander and source-material sets identified as Eternal-legal are legal in Commander, Legacy, and Vintage; individual cards can also be legal in other formats where those cards were already available. Check the specific card and set designation rather than assuming every card across the collaboration has identical legality. Wizards explains its broader policy in Aligning the Universes: Making All Our Sets Legal in All Our Formats.

Yes. Wizards announced on May 19, 2026 that Marvel Super Heroes, along with past and future Marvel sets, would come to MTG Arena.
