What makes it useful for productivity?
Quieter clicks, not silent clicks
Logitech says the MX Master 3S has “90% less Sound Power Level left and right click, measured at 1m” than the MX Master 3. That is a manufacturer comparison under a stated measurement condition, not a claim that the mouse is silent or an independent measurement. It may be appealing in a shared workspace, but some click sound remains.

Logitech Support lists a selectable 200–8,000 DPI range and a Darkfield high-precision sensor. Logitech’s product page says the mouse tracks on glass at least 4 mm thick. The thickness condition matters: the claim should not be read as a guarantee on every glass surface.

Higher DPI is an adjustable sensitivity option, not by itself evidence of better performance for every task. Logitech says sensitivity adjustment is available through Logi Options+ on Windows and macOS.
Vertical and horizontal scrolling
The MagSpeed electromagnetic scroll wheel is marketed for both precise and rapid scrolling; Logitech claims a rate of up to 1,000 lines per second. That is a product claim, not a measured productivity improvement. The support specification also lists SmartShift scrolling and a thumb wheel. Together, these controls can be useful for moving through long documents or spreadsheets vertically and navigating wide spreadsheets or timelines horizontally.

Customizable controls
Logitech Support lists seven customizable buttons, including back/forward, app-switch, and wheel mode-shift controls, as well as a gesture button. Logi Options+ is the named software for customization. The value of these controls depends on whether you want to configure shortcuts for your own apps and routines.
How well does it handle multiple devices and charging?
The mouse supports Logi Bolt and Bluetooth Low Energy. Logitech’s 2022 business datasheet lists three Easy-Switch channels, allowing the mouse to be paired with and switched among three computers. Check that the wireless method and receiver arrangement fit your devices before ordering.

Logitech Support says a one-minute quick charge provides three hours of use, while noting that battery life varies with the user and computing conditions. Logitech’s 2022 business datasheet rates a full charge for up to 70 days. Treat that as a manufacturer rating rather than a promised duration for every setup.
What are the main drawbacks to consider?
Weight and right-handed fit
At 141 g, the MX Master 3S is relatively substantial as a productivity mouse. Logitech’s business datasheet identifies the design as right-handed. If low weight, ambidextrous use, or left-handed ergonomics are priorities, those are important reasons to compare other shapes before buying. Comfort is personal; the specification alone cannot establish how it will feel in your hand.

Not designed as a gaming-first mouse
PC Gamer’s review of the successor characterizes the MX Master 3S as a productivity mouse that can handle some gaming, but not as a proper fast-paced gaming mouse. This is that publication’s reviewer assessment, not a dedicated MX Master 3S test in the available evidence. Buyers focused on competitive play should compare dedicated gaming specifications and independent tests rather than relying on DPI alone.

Logitech Support identifies the MX Master 3S as wireless. USB-C is used for charging; the consulted specification does not establish a wired-use mode. Do not assume it can function as a conventional wired mouse while connected to a charging cable.

Edition contents are different
Logitech Support lists the standard edition box as including a Logi Bolt USB receiver and USB-A-to-USB-C charging cable. The Bluetooth Edition box contents are listed as the mouse and user documentation. Check the exact edition and package listing if you need a receiver or cable included.

It is a strong fit on paper for a right-handed productivity user who values programmable controls, scrolling in two directions, quieter-than-predecessor clicks, and multi-computer switching. Its weight, wireless-only design, and edition-specific accessories are tangible compromises, not minor details to overlook. The cited evidence supports a feature-based purchase decision, not a hands-on comfort or performance verdict.
Price also needs a date and region. On October 7, 2026, Logitech’s US product page displayed $79.99, reduced from $99.99, and said the flash sale ended that day at 11:59 p.m. PDT. That was a time-limited US listing, not a current or universal price; verify your local price, stock, and selected edition before purchasing.
