If your Realme phone uses Google Phone as its dialer, a saved call is found inside the Phone app: open Recents, tap the caller, and play the recording. A file manager search is the wrong first step, because the documented route for these recordings runs through the dialer itself. Whether your phone records calls at all depends on the dialer and on the region where the phone is sold.
Find a recording made with Google Phone
Google’s Phone app help community states the in-app route in a Product Expert answer dated July 9, 2024, to the question “Where are call recordings saved?” The steps below follow that guidance.

- Open the Phone app that placed or received the recorded call.
- Tap Recents.
- Tap the caller associated with the recorded call.
- For the most recent call, play the recording shown in Recents. For an older call, open History and select the recording.
- Tap Play. To keep a separate copy, use Share and choose a supported destination.
The same guidance says these recordings are stored on the device and are not automatically saved or backed up off the device. If a recording matters to you, share it somewhere else as soon as you find it.
Why a file manager search can fail
Neither the Google guidance nor realme’s Google Dialer instructions gives a public folder name or filesystem path for these recordings. Do not rely on a path copied from another blog or forum post. No source here confirms a single location that applies to every Realme model, dialer version, or realme UI release.

Users run into this exact gap. One Google Phone community post, from a Realme C16 owner, asks where a recorded call went after it could not be found. That is an individual question, not official documentation for C16 devices, but it shows why the in-app route is the one to try first.

realme notes that feature availability varies, so the control may be absent even on a phone that otherwise uses Google Dialer.

Choose the right path
| Goal | Dialer | Where to look or what to do | Limits stated by the source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Play a recent call recording | Google Phone | Phone, Recents, tap the caller, play the recording | Stored on the device; not automatically backed up off the device (Google, July 9, 2024) |
| Play an older call recording | Google Phone | Phone, Recents, tap the caller, History, select the recording | Same storage behaviour as above |
| Record a new call | Google Dialer | In-call screen, swipe left to reveal the record control | Both parties hear an alert; availability varies (realme, May 9, 2025) |
| Locate a file in a general folder | Any | Not stated | No folder path is established for all models or versions |
| Recording on a non-Google dialer | Other | Not stated | The cited guidance does not cover other dialers |
When there is no recording option
If the record control is missing or no recording appears, check two things: which dialer the phone uses, and whether recording is supported where the phone is sold. realme’s FAQ states the regional limit directly: “Due to the different privacy policies of different areas, some phones do not support call recording.” Under that policy, a missing feature is not necessarily a fault on your phone.
