Baby Voidwyrm Diet in ARK: Meat Feeding and When Troughs Take Over

Baby Voidwyrms are raised on meat, not Wyvern Milk. The ARK Official Community Wiki’s Voidwyrm entry describes this as a difference from other Wyverns, and says the Voidwyrm feeds on meat while it grows from baby to adult. The same entry identifies the Voidwyrm as a mechanical creature added in the Genesis: Part 2 expansion.

What a baby Voidwyrm eats

Meat is the core food for a baby Voidwyrm. Wyvern Milk is not part of its raising requirements, so players who are used to feeding other baby Wyverns should not carry that routine over to this creature without checking the Voidwyrm entry first.

When a trough can feed it

The ARK Official Community Wiki’s breeding guidance says babies can eat from a Feeding Trough or a Tek Trough once they reach the Juvenile phase, which the page lists at 10.1% maturation. This is a general baby-rearing rule that applies across creatures, not a measurement specific to the Voidwyrm. Trough access begins at Juvenile; it does not mark the moment the baby first eats, so a newly hatched baby still needs to be fed directly until it reaches that stage.

Feeding stages at a glance

Growth stage How to feed it meat
Baby, before the Juvenile phase Put meat into the baby’s inventory directly, while it is in range.
Juvenile phase (listed at 10.1% maturation) A Feeding Trough or Tek Trough can supply food, using meat as the Voidwyrm’s food.
Adult Feeding stops being part of raising; the Voidwyrm’s entry does not describe further food needs at this stage.

Feeding a baby by hand

  1. Stand next to the baby Voidwyrm and open your inventory.
  2. Take meat from your inventory and place it into the baby’s inventory.
  3. Check the baby’s food status after the transfer, and repeat until it reaches the Juvenile phase.

Where Voidwyrm breeding fits

Two Voidwyrms can mate and produce an egg, and that egg hatches into a baby Voidwyrm. Raising the baby therefore starts with the breeding pair, not with a separate food source.

What the wiki does not specify

  • The Voidwyrm entry does not give a meat quantity or a feeding interval for babies. Do not rely on a fixed amount or schedule from other guides.
  • Server settings and maturation multipliers change how quickly a baby grows, so the time it takes to reach Juvenile on your server may differ from any default timeline.
  • No survival guarantee follows from feeding meat alone; check your server’s rules and the creature’s current status while raising it.

These points are based on the ARK Official Community Wiki’s entries and breeding guidance as accessed in 2026. Game rules can change with later updates, so confirm against the wiki or your server’s documentation if the figures in your version differ.
