On certain time-limited banners, Ideality provides an exchange threshold: the mechanics guide describes one point per extraction and an exchange at 200 points for eligible featured content. That is an exchange mechanic, not an escalating chance of getting the item. Check the banner’s in-game details and the current Dispenser before deciding whether to spend Lunacy or save shards.
What are Identities and E.G.O.?
Project Moon describes an Identity as a possibility borrowed from another reality for one of the Sinners. E.G.O. is equipment associated with Abnormalities. Both add alternate combat possibilities, but they are different kinds of collectible. Project Moon’s official game overview introduces these systems.
How can you get them?
Extraction
Extraction is the random-acquisition route. Standard Extraction is the general permanent banner described in the community-maintained mechanics guide; Target Extraction is time-limited and features named content. The available pool and probabilities depend on the banner. Check its in-game Detailed Rates screen for the authoritative information rather than relying on a generic or older rate table. The guide itself cautions that displayed pool quantities may not be exact. The extraction guide covers banner types, while Project Moon’s Steam announcements show that featured banners change over time.
Shard exchange
When an item is eligible, you can exchange character shards for it through the in-game Dispenser. Eligibility changes with seasons and events, so the presence of an item in a guide or a previous season does not establish that it is exchangeable now. Inspect the live Dispenser for the item you want. The Limbus Company FAQ and the Season 8 guide notice provide context on this variability.

How does pity work, and what is Ideality?
For eligible time-limited banners, the mechanics guide describes Ideality as an exchange counter: each extraction adds one point, and eligible featured content can be exchanged at 200 points. This gives a defined exchange route if you reach the threshold; it does not mean the chance of a random pull rises with each attempt or that an earlier rarity guarantee applies. Confirm that the active banner offers Ideality and that the item you want is among its exchange targets before counting on this route. The community mechanics guide describes the threshold; the in-game banner is the place to verify its current terms.
At the end of a banner, unused Ideality converts to Thread in an equal amount, according to the guide. Treat that as a banner-end conversion, not as shard exchange or a carry-over toward the next banner’s Ideality threshold.
What should you check before spending Lunacy?
Compare the specific banner and item rather than relying on a single generic probability. The exact active-banner rate table for a particular date is not established here; use the in-game Detailed Rates menu to see it.

- Does this banner offer an Ideality exchange, and is the desired item an eligible target?
- How many extractions would you need to reach the 200-Ideality exchange point?
- Is the item currently available for shard exchange in your Dispenser?
- What does the confirmation screen show for Free and Paid Lunacy?
According to the official FAQ, extraction uses Free Lunacy first and Paid Lunacy if Free Lunacy is insufficient. Completed random extraction rewards cannot be refunded or rolled back. Check the resource split in the confirmation pop-up before committing. Read the official FAQ.
Should you pull now or save shards?
If the item is in the Dispenser and you have, or can reasonably save, the required shards, exchange avoids relying on a random result. If it is featured on an eligible banner, compare the exchange threshold and your remaining distance to it with the cost and uncertainty of continuing to pull. If it is neither currently shardable nor an eligible Ideality target, do not assume either route will obtain it; check the live banner and Dispenser again when availability changes.
Season rules move. The Season 8 notice says Season 8: PUNCTUM begins September 17, 2026 (KST), and discusses Season 7 universal shards for Uptie and Threadspinning. That context does not guarantee a particular item’s current Dispenser eligibility. Use the version of the game you are playing as the final check.
