Life360 Alternatives: Six Picks for Different Family Needs

The right Life360 alternative depends on whether you need basic sharing, child-device management, trip check-ins, or dedicated family and driving features.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The best Life360 alternative depends on what you want to replace: Apple Find My is a sensible starting point for an all-Apple household, Google Maps suits basic sharing across iPhone and Android, and Google Family Link is designed for a parent managing a child’s device. For driving alerts or dedicated family-location features, compare services such as GeoZilla and iSharing—and check their current plans before switching.

Choose by need, not by app count

Life360 combines location sharing with family-oriented safety features, but not every household needs the same mix. Built-in phone tools can cover basic sharing or trip coordination; child-device management and dedicated driving features call for different options. The six choices below are not equivalent services.

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

  • All-Apple household: Start with Find My, Maps, and Check In.
  • Mixed iPhone and Android household: Consider Google Maps for basic person-to-person sharing.
  • Parent managing a child’s phone: Look at Google Family Link.
  • Dedicated family or driving features: Compare GeoZilla and iSharing, checking the current feature tiers.
  • Younger child or someone without a phone: FindMyKids or a compatible GPS tracker may be worth investigating, but verify the details before relying on them.

What to compare before switching

Option Platform and sharing style Alerts or safety features established by the cited sources Cost information
Apple Find My, Maps, and Check In Apple devices; ongoing location sharing, trip ETA, or arrival and delay check-ins Check In can notify a contact on arrival or an unexpected delay when the user is unresponsive; not continuous tracking by default Not stated in the cited Apple documentation; check current Apple terms
Google Maps location sharing Person-to-person sharing; described as cross-platform for iPhone and Android by MapQuest Google documents controls for stopping sharing with a selected person; MapQuest describes trip-progress ETA Not stated in the cited sources
Google Family Link Child’s supervised Google account and device Location settings and arrive/leave notifications for saved family places, subject to device and accuracy conditions Not stated in the cited source
GeoZilla Android and iPhone; app can pair with GPS trackers and wearables Vendor describes crash alerts to emergency contacts and driving-safety reports $59.99 billed every three months was advertised on GeoZilla’s site on October 7, 2026; verify checkout and renewal terms
iSharing iOS and Google Play downloads; location-sharing service Current feature tiers and alert details should be checked on the provider’s plan page No current official price established here
FindMyKids Described by MapQuest as a younger-child option involving a child app or GPS watch Current official features were not independently established No current official price established here

Features, permissions, and prices can vary by device, region, and plan. For any paid option, verify the exact tier, billing period, renewal amount, and compatibility at checkout rather than relying on an older comparison.

Six Life360 alternatives, and when each fits

1. Apple Find My, Maps, and Check In: for Apple households

Apple’s built-in tools cover several different situations. A person can share Live Location through Find My or Messages; Apple Maps can share a live ETA while someone is navigating by car, bicycle, or on foot; and Check In can tell a trusted contact when the user arrives or, if a trip is unexpectedly delayed and the user is unresponsive, share information to help the contact respond. Apple’s location-sharing support explains these options.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter | 4Pack Type C Female to A Male Cable Converter for Apple Duo 17 16 15 14 Plus,iWatch Watch 12 11 10,iPad 9 8 Air,Airpods 5 4
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Check In is a trip-based reassurance feature, not continuous location tracking by default. The cited Apple documentation does not establish that these tools replace Life360’s driving reports, crash detection, circle tools, or paid safety bundle. Choose them for basic location sharing and trip coordination, not as a like-for-like safety suite.

2. Google Maps: for basic sharing across phone platforms

Google Maps is a practical option when people in the household use different phone platforms and mainly want to share locations or trip progress. MapQuest describes it as cross-platform for iPhone and Android and notes trip-progress ETA sharing. Google’s own help page documents how to manage Location Sharing, including stopping sharing with a particular person: Manage your Location Sharing settings.

This is a sharing tool, not a complete family-safety system. Review who can see your location and stop sharing with people who no longer need access. Do not assume that every feature or price is identical across platforms or accounts.

3. Google Family Link: for a parent managing a child’s device

Family Link is aimed at a specific relationship: a parent managing a child’s supervised Google account and device. Google documents child-location settings and arrive/leave alerts for saved family places. Alerts require a family place and location accuracy; location may be unavailable if the child’s device is off, offline, or has not been used recently. See Google’s guide to finding and managing a child’s location.

Because setup depends on the child’s account and device, Family Link is not simply a general-purpose family circle tracker. It may be a better fit than a dedicated locator if the central need is managing a child’s Google-connected device as well as seeing its location.

4. GeoZilla: for dedicated family and driving features

GeoZilla’s official site describes support for Android and iPhone, crash alerts to emergency contacts, driving-safety reports, and pairing with GPS trackers and wearable devices. These are vendor-described capabilities, not independent test results. An alert to an emergency contact should not be confused with a guarantee that emergency services will be dispatched.

GeoZilla says that requesting someone’s location sends the recipient an SMS and requires the recipient’s consent. Its site advertised Premium for $59.99 billed every three months on October 7, 2026; that is a dated offer snapshot, not a stable annual price. Check the current checkout page for the amount, renewal terms, and which features the plan includes. See GeoZilla’s official site.

5. iSharing: a dedicated location-sharing app to investigate

iSharing provides iOS and Google Play downloads and presents itself as a location-sharing service. Its official homepage says “Trusted by 60M+ Users”; that is a vendor-reported promotional figure, with no year specified, not an independently verified user count. The available comparison evidence is not enough to establish current plan prices or which features belong to each tier, so check the provider’s current plan details before treating it as a direct replacement. Visit iSharing’s official site.

6. FindMyKids: a lead for younger children, not a fully verified match

A July 2026 MapQuest comparison describes FindMyKids as an option for younger children and mentions a child app or GPS watch. Current official feature and pricing details were not established in the available sources. Treat it as a candidate to investigate, not a verified recommendation: confirm the current app, device compatibility, permissions, subscription terms, and how the child can understand or participate in location sharing.

If you need a tracker for someone who does not carry a phone, GeoZilla says its app can pair with GPS trackers and wearables. The cited sources do not verify any specific tracker model, listing, cellular coverage, or recurring device-service price. Confirm compatibility with the exact app and tracker before buying; an item tracker should not be assumed to be a substitute for a dedicated GPS tracker.

Privacy and consent are part of the comparison

Location sharing is sensitive, so compare more than the map screen. Check who can see a person’s location, how sharing can be paused or stopped, what information is collected, and how the provider says it may be used. A feature that lets a user stop sharing with one person, such as the control documented by Google, is useful—but it is not a complete privacy assessment.

Life360’s privacy policy, accessed October 7, 2026, states: “We may sell your sensitive personal data.” The policy describes licensing certain information, including precise geolocation data, to select business partners for their own advertising and monetization purposes, as well as other disclosures for targeted advertising under state privacy laws. That wording does not mean all users’ location data is sold to everyone or that every user has the same rights. Read the current Life360 Privacy Policy and the live policy and in-app controls of any service you consider.

Switch without leaving the household half-connected

  1. Agree on the purpose and boundaries. Decide who needs ongoing location visibility, who only needs trip updates, which places merit alerts, and how anyone can pause or end sharing.
  2. Check device and account requirements. Confirm that everyone’s phone supports the app and that child-focused options use the required supervised account or device setup.
  3. Install and configure the new option together. Give each person a chance to understand the sharing request and consent. Set only the location permissions and saved places the household actually needs.
  4. Test the important actions. Check that location updates work, place alerts arrive, and each person knows how to stop sharing. For a child’s device, test with it online and available.
  5. Review battery and notification behavior. Make sure location permissions and background settings allow the intended features, then confirm the app’s alerts are not being suppressed.
  6. Turn off the old service together. Once the replacement works, remove unneeded sharing access and subscriptions from the former setup rather than leaving location visible to people who no longer need it.
