Microsoft’s Office Beta Channel update history lists September 30, 2026 — Version 2610 (Build 20527.20000) as the latest Windows entry reviewed. The page says newer builds include updates from earlier builds, so a later build supersedes this one when Microsoft adds it to the history.

What’s new in the latest Microsoft 365 Beta build?
In the newest September 2026 entries surfaced on Microsoft’s notes page, the change description is “Various fixes to functionality and performance.” Microsoft does not identify individual fixes or features in that wording, so it is not possible to say which specific problems were addressed from the entry alone.

The notes cover Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, and Project for Windows desktop. Microsoft says the page highlights selected new features, important fixes, and significant issues; it is not necessarily an exhaustive list of every change. Feature availability can also be gradual, so a feature described in the notes may not yet appear for every user.
What does Beta Channel mean?
Beta Channel is Microsoft 365 Apps’ earlier, less mature preview channel. It gives users access to features still in development before they reach Current Channel (Preview). Microsoft describes Beta Channel as unsupported and says it should be used only in test environments by a small, selected group, such as IT staff or application developers.

How to check or deploy a Beta Channel update
The build history helps you compare your installed build with Microsoft’s latest listed Windows build. Deployment options depend on how Microsoft 365 Apps is managed in your organization. Microsoft’s Insider Program for Business documentation lists these Windows options:
- Office Deployment Tool
- Configuration Manager
- Microsoft Intune
- Group Policy
- Letting users choose
- A registry change
Those are deployment routes, not instructions for one universal update workflow; use the method configured by your organization. The Windows build history covered here does not establish the latest build for Mac or other operating systems. Microsoft lists Microsoft AutoUpdate and preferences as Mac deployment options.
