Replace STREAM_KEY with the exact key shown for the intended stream in YouTube Studio. Keep that key private: it grants access to your live-stream connection.
Copy the YouTube URL and stream key

In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go live to open the Live Control Room.

Open the Stream tab, then create or select the stream you intend to use. Copy its current stream URL and stream key from the stream settings. The server URL and key must belong to the intended stream. YouTube describes stream keys as credentials, like a password and address: Manage live stream settings in YouTube Studio.

Enter the connection in Larix Broadcaster

In Larix Broadcaster, open the settings or connection list and add a connection. Screen labels can vary by app version and operating system.

Give the connection a recognizable name, such as “YouTube Live.” In its Connection URL field, enter the YouTube server URL, a slash, and the full stream key:
rtmp://a.rtmp.youtube.com/live2/STREAM_KEYReplace only
STREAM_KEYwith the current key copied from YouTube Studio. Do not include spaces or use a sample key. Larix documents this combined server-and-key format in its connection documentation and its Larix-to-YouTube setup article. -
Save the connection, select it as the active destination, and start broadcasting in Larix. Check the Live Control Room for an incoming signal or preview. For a scheduled stream, review the preview there and select Go live when ready.

When finished, stop the Larix broadcast and end the stream in YouTube’s Live Control Room as appropriate to the stream workflow.
RTMP or RTMPS: which URL should you use?
RTMP is the standard URL form shown in the example above. RTMPS adds TLS/SSL encryption between the encoder and YouTube. YouTube recommends RTMPS when the encoder supports it, but do not turn the RTMP address into RTMPS by changing the letters yourself.
To get YouTube’s RTMPS address, open Stream settings in the Live Control Room and use the lock control beside Stream URL, then copy the URL YouTube provides into Larix. Confirm that the installed Larix version supports RTMPS; compatibility can differ by version and operating system. YouTube’s RTMPS guidance notes that a protocol or URL mismatch can cause a timeout or SSL error. In some configurations, specifying port 443 can resolve an SSL error; follow the URL and encoder requirements rather than adding it by guesswork.

Connection URL is separate from video quality
The URL and key route the stream; they do not determine resolution or bitrate. YouTube’s current encoder settings guidance supports H.264, H.265/HEVC and AV1, recommends constant bitrate and a two-second keyframe interval, and says not to exceed four seconds. Its recommended H.264 bitrate examples are:

These are YouTube recommendations, not guarantees of a stable broadcast. Choose settings that your device and sustained upload bandwidth can handle. YouTube’s automatic resolution and frame-rate detection is the default; manual resolution can be set with a custom stream key.
Troubleshoot common Larix-to-YouTube problems
YouTube shows no incoming signal

Confirm the intended stream is selected in YouTube Studio and the matching Larix connection is active.

Check that the full server URL is present, with one slash between the server path and key, and that the key is the current one for that stream.

Save the connection and restart the Larix broadcast after correcting a URL or key.

The key changed or may have been exposed
Reset the stream key in YouTube Studio, then replace the old key in Larix immediately. YouTube says only a channel owner or manager can reset a key. Treat it like a password: do not post it, send it to others, or include it in screenshots.

RTMPS returns an SSL error or times out

Make sure you copied the RTMPS URL using the lock control in YouTube’s Stream settings; do not substitute the protocol manually.

Verify RTMPS support in the installed Larix version and check for a URL/protocol mismatch.

If the encoder configuration or YouTube’s guidance for that URL calls for port 443, use it as specified.

The stream connects, but quality is poor
Check the network upload stability and encoder settings independently of the URL. Compare resolution, frame rate, codec, bitrate and keyframe interval with YouTube’s recommendations; a valid stream key cannot compensate for insufficient or unstable upload bandwidth.
There is no audio
Check that Larix has permission to use the microphone and that audio is enabled in its encoder configuration. Larix’s older YouTube setup article describes sending both audio and video; if your current workflow differs, verify the signal and audio status in YouTube’s Live Control Room.
