1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsIf Larix Broadcaster is lagging on Jio 4G, start with 720p at 30 fps, test the upload connection where you will stream, and set Larix’s bitrate below the rate your connection can sustain consistently. Use a two-second keyframe interval, enable an available adaptive-bitrate mode if the connection fluctuates, and check YouTube’s stream health during a rehearsal. There is no single bitrate guaranteed to work across Jio 4G locations and conditions.
Start with a stable baseline, not the highest resolution
A 4G indicator does not tell you how much upload capacity is available at your exact location or how steady it will remain during a broadcast. YouTube recommends testing upload bitrate and testing the stream before going live. Use an upload-speed test at the broadcast location and, as far as possible, under conditions similar to your planned stream.

Begin with 720p30. YouTube’s recommended H.264 bitrate for that setting is 8 Mbps, but that is an encoder recommendation—not a promise that a mobile connection can sustain 8 Mbps. If your measured upload rate fluctuates or the stream drops frames, set a lower target with room for those fluctuations. The correct value depends on the connection and device; the available guidance does not establish a Jio-specific bitrate.
Use YouTube’s bitrate figures as reference points
| H.264 video setting | YouTube-recommended bitrate | How to apply it on Jio 4G |
|---|---|---|
| 720p30 | 8 Mbps | Reference point only. Lower the Larix target if your upload connection cannot sustain it reliably. |
| 720p60 | 8 Mbps | Not the initial choice for troubleshooting lag; test only after a stable baseline. |
| 1080p30 | 14 Mbps | Requires substantially more upload capacity than the 720p30 reference. Do not choose it based on the 4G label alone. |
These figures come from YouTube’s live encoder settings guidance. They describe recommended encoder settings, not guaranteed mobile-network performance.

Set Larix and YouTube’s stream parameters
Bitrate: use a conservative target
In Larix, select a video bitrate that stays below the upload rate your connection sustains consistently, leaving room for variation. Larix’s configured bitrate is a target; Softvelum notes that worsening network conditions can cause frame loss with RTMP/RTSP. On Android, a device may also enforce a quality floor under VBR, so an entered low value is not necessarily honored exactly. See the Larix Broadcaster FAQ for platform and encoder caveats.
Keyframes: set a two-second interval
Set the keyframe interval to two seconds. YouTube recommends two seconds and says not to exceed four seconds. An interval longer than that can appear as a configuration problem in YouTube’s stream health diagnostics.

Codec, frame rate, and transport
YouTube’s current encoder guidance lists RTMP/RTMPS, H.264, H.265, and AV1; supports up to 60 fps; and recommends CBR encoding with AAC or MP3 audio. YouTube recommends RTMPS, which encrypts the data through its servers. For troubleshooting, keep the setup straightforward: use a supported transport and codec, CBR where available, and 30 fps while establishing a stable 720p stream.

Larix uses system encoders. Softvelum explains that frame-rate controls can be recommendations rather than exact limits, and actual behavior can vary by device and operating system. Record the device model, operating system, Larix version, selected codec, resolution, frame rate, and bitrate so you can interpret test results against the configuration actually in use.

Use adaptive bitrate when the connection fluctuates
If upload capacity varies during the stream, enable an adaptive-bitrate mode available in your Larix version and platform. Softvelum documents logarithmic descent, ladder ascend, and hybrid modes, but their behavior and availability vary by protocol and platform. Check the controls shown in your own app rather than assuming every mode is available on every device.
Try the selected mode in a private or unlisted rehearsal where possible. Observe whether it reduces interruptions without causing unacceptable changes in picture quality. Adaptive bitrate can respond to changing conditions; it cannot make an insufficient or persistently unstable uplink reliable.

Run a rehearsal and change one setting at a time
- Record your starting configuration. Note the device and operating system, Larix version, codec, resolution, frame rate, bitrate, keyframe interval, transport, and any adaptive mode.
- Test upload speed at the broadcast location. Repeat the test at times and under conditions that resemble the planned broadcast. Do not treat a single result or the “4G” icon as a stable bitrate guarantee.
- Configure 720p30 and a conservative bitrate. Use YouTube’s 8 Mbps H.264 reference for 720p30 as context, not as a required target. Choose a lower bitrate if the connection does not sustain that level consistently.
- Set the keyframe interval to two seconds. Keep it at or below YouTube’s four-second maximum.
- Stream a representative test. Include movement and the audio you expect to use. YouTube advises: “Make sure to test before you start your live stream. Tests should include audio and movement in the video similar to what you’ll be doing in the stream.”
- Check YouTube stream health. Review the live diagnostics for warnings such as low or high bitrate, high frame rate, or a keyframe interval that is too long. YouTube documents stream status and health in its LiveStreams API reference.
- If lag remains, reduce bitrate first. Repeat the same representative test. If the problem persists, reduce resolution or frame rate, changing one variable at a time so you can tell which adjustment helped.
What not to infer from Jio’s video data estimates
Jio’s video resolution and data-consumption guide concerns estimated data used while viewing video. It does not establish the upload speed or upload stability available for a Larix live broadcast, so its figures should not be used to select an encoder bitrate.
Troubleshoot the symptom you see
| Symptom or diagnostic | What to check | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Video stutters or frames are lost | Whether the bitrate target exceeds the connection’s consistently available upload capacity; whether upload conditions changed | Lower the bitrate target, test again, and try an available adaptive mode if capacity fluctuates. |
| Stream health reports low or high bitrate | The encoder target and YouTube’s reported stream diagnostics | Adjust the bitrate and repeat a test, rather than relying on the 4G indicator. |
| Stream health reports high frame rate | Larix’s selected frame rate and the behavior of the device’s system encoder | Use 30 fps for the baseline and verify the actual test behavior; Larix’s frame-rate control may not be exact on every platform. |
| Keyframe interval warning | Larix’s keyframe setting | Set two seconds and ensure the interval does not exceed four seconds. |
| Lower bitrate setting has little effect | Platform and encoder behavior, especially Android VBR quality floors | Check Larix’s platform-specific behavior and test a different supported configuration; the entered value may not be applied exactly. |
| Lag persists after bitrate changes | Resolution, frame rate, adaptive mode, upload stability, and the YouTube diagnostics | Change one variable at a time and retest in the same location and conditions before drawing a conclusion. |
