First determine whether the sound is out of sync with the picture or whether the whole broadcast simply reaches viewers late. They are different problems: start with the phone’s microphone and audio input for a lip-sync mismatch; investigate YouTube stream health, network delivery, and playback when the entire stream is delayed. YouTube’s latency controls address capture-to-viewer delay, not a documented lip-sync offset.
Identify what is actually out of sync
Before changing settings, note what you observe. “Audio is out of sync” can describe several different symptoms, and each points to a different part of the broadcast path.

| What you notice | What it suggests | First check |
|---|---|---|
| Lips, speech, or an action do not match the sound | An audio/video sync mismatch in the outgoing feed or playback | Microphone selection, mute state, and built-in versus external mic |
| The stream is behind the real event, but sound and picture match each other | Stream latency: time between capture and viewer playback | YouTube latency mode, network conditions, and player buffering |
| Audio is silent, intermittent, or cuts out | An input, mute, connection, or audio-routing problem | Mute state and the selected/default/external input |
| Only one viewer or device reports a problem | The issue may be specific to that viewer’s device, network, or playback | Compare the stream on another device and network |
YouTube defines stream latency as the delay between an encoder or camera capturing an event and that event appearing for viewers. Its live-stream settings guidance describes delivery delay—not a control for moving audio relative to video. Streamlabs likewise explains that delay can accrue between the broadcaster app and viewer playback; see its Mobile Streaming FAQ.
Fix the most likely Streamlabs Mobile input problems first
1. Confirm the microphone is active and selected
- Check that the microphone is not muted in Streamlabs Mobile.
- Confirm which input the app is using: the phone’s built-in microphone, an external mic, or another available input.
- Make a short test with the built-in mic. Compare it with a test using the current external microphone, keeping the same phone position and scene if possible.
If the built-in mic works but the external input does not, focus on the external mic, its connection, and phone compatibility before changing YouTube settings.

2. Isolate Bluetooth audio
If you are using a Bluetooth microphone or headphones, repeat the test without Bluetooth. Streamlabs’ FAQ identifies known issues with Bluetooth microphones and headphones. It says 3.5 mm microphones should work, but that does not establish compatibility for every phone, adapter, or wired microphone. Check that your specific connection works with your device before buying replacement hardware.
3. Change mobile audio settings one at a time
Streamlabs’ mobile documentation lists audio settings such as sample rate, volume, and external audio channels; its mobile-game guidance also lists Bluetooth input and sample rate. The names and available controls can vary with the app and device. Record your current settings, change one setting, then make the same brief test again. This makes it possible to tell whether a change helped.

The reviewed Streamlabs guidance does not establish a universal mobile audio-sync offset or a guaranteed setting that corrects every mismatch. Avoid copying a desktop audio-offset value into the phone app: desktop sync-offset and render-delay controls are not established as Streamlabs Mobile settings.
Use a short test broadcast to locate the problem
- Set up a brief private or unlisted test broadcast, and keep the phone, scene, microphone, and network conditions steady.
- Check the live preview and available stream-health information while broadcasting.
- Review the replay on another device as well as the phone you streamed from. If possible, ask another viewer on a different network to check it too.
- Note whether the mismatch is constant, grows over time, or occurs only on one viewer’s playback.
A preview or replay can help distinguish a problem already present in the outgoing feed from one that appears later in delivery or playback. Streamlabs recommends reducing background load in its mobile guide; YouTube also recommends testing streams and monitoring quality in its latency guidance.

- ✔️[High-fidelity sound quality, accurate sampling] The Synido 2x2 audio interface uses a high-quality independent audio chip to reduce recording latency, support 24-bit depth and 48kHz sampling rate, and ensure every detail is restored. Whether it is recording or live broadcasting, it can provide a clear and natural sound quality experience
- ✔️[Three monitoring modes, easy to switch] The audio interface provides three monitoring modes to meet different needs. In Stereo mode, independent left and right channels present the original input (such as a microphone or instrument), which is suitable for accurate recording. Supports easy switching between Line In and instrument input, adapts to different devices, reduces interference and distortion, and does not need to adjust gain frequently, improving efficiency
- ✔️[Professional 48V phantom power] Synido audio interface is equipped with 48V phantom power switch and supports 48V dynamic microphone with excellent noise reduction performance, provides a highly sensitive recording experience, accurately picks up sound, and effectively reduces noise interference, ensuring clear and stable sound quality output
- ✔️[Lightweight and portable, plug and play, create at any time] The USB audio interface weighs only 300g and measures 14 x 11.5x 4.5 cm. It is compact and portable and can be taken anywhere anytime. Equipped with a 3.5mm to 6.35mm adapter and a USB-C to USB-A data cable, you can easily use it by directly connecting to your mobile phone or computer
If the outgoing feed is wrong, troubleshoot the phone and app
If the test suggests the mismatch is present before YouTube delivery, stay focused on the capture path:
- Recheck the mic mute state and selected input.
- Repeat the built-in-microphone versus external-microphone comparison.
- Update Streamlabs Mobile and close apps you do not need while streaming.
- Repeat the test without Bluetooth if it was in use.
- Change only one audio setting at a time and compare against the same test setup.
If you contact Streamlabs support, include your phone model, operating-system version, Streamlabs version, connection type, the input you used, and whether the offset stays constant or grows. Those details help narrow down the path; the symptom alone does not identify a single cause.

If the feed is healthy, troubleshoot YouTube delivery and playback
If the outgoing feed sounds and looks right but viewers do not get the same experience, check YouTube Live stream health and any reported errors. YouTube’s live-stream troubleshooting guidance recommends inspecting encoder output and stream health; when output is healthy, test outbound connectivity. Compare playback on another viewer device or network, since congestion and player buffering can affect delivery.

Lower-latency delivery can involve more buffering, so choose a setting based on how quickly viewers need to respond and how stable the connection is. If audio and video match but the whole broadcast is behind the event, latency is the relevant issue; if speech and picture disagree, continue diagnosing the input and outgoing feed.

Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is for a different use case: keeping uploaded videos or a playlist live on YouTube, rather than broadcasting a phone camera through Streamlabs Mobile. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live; the cloud loops the uploaded video, so nothing has to stay on at home. It does not fix lip-sync in a live phone-camera stream.
For that prerecorded-video use case, StreamNeo streams the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month.
