KINGCHASER is a project aircraft from The Mach Initiative, built largely from 3D-printed parts and designed with a target speed of Mach 0.8. That is a goal, not a reported flight result: the available account gives no measured top speed or confirmation that KINGCHASER has flown.
What is the KINGCHASER RC jet?
KINGCHASER is an ambitious radio-controlled jet project reported by Hackaday on October 5, 2026. Its “transonic” description reflects the project’s speed ambition; the report does not provide aerodynamic measurements or a formal classification of the aircraft’s airflow.

The project builds on a smaller PLA aircraft named Kingfisher, which Hackaday says had flown. The report attributes to Kingfisher a claim to being the first 3D-printed jet; that claim is not independently established in the account. Kingfisher’s flight is not evidence that KINGCHASER has flown.

How fast is the 3D-printed RC jet supposed to fly?
The Mach Initiative’s stated design goal, as reported by Hackaday, is Mach 0.8. Hackaday gives about 990 km/h (615 mph) as an approximate speed associated with that target. Mach is relative to the local speed of sound, which varies with atmospheric conditions, so the conversion is not a universal fixed speed. The figure is an intended target, not a verified speed or record.

Hackaday also reports engine thrust of 300 N (68 lbf). This is a reported specification, not independently verified performance; the account does not identify an engine model or provide test data.
What materials are used in the airframe?
The aircraft is reported to be made largely from PETG 3D prints. Hackaday says PETG was chosen instead of PLA to address expected aerodynamic heating at the intended speed. The report does not provide a specific filament grade or establish measured in-flight temperatures.

- 40mm EDF Design. This F-35 fighter jet features a powerful EDF system with a 12-blade ducted fan, delivering enhanced power and improved safety.
- Powerful Brushless Motor. Equipped with a 1506 6200KV brushless motor, this 4-channel RC aircraft offers high efficiency and power, ensuring excellent thrust and smooth flight performance.
- 3D Aerobatics, 6G Gyro Stabilization. The 3D stunt mode allows you to easily perform various high-difficulty stunts such as rolls, flying backwards, 360° rotations, climbing, and diving. A built-in 6G gyro stabilization system enhances flight stability.
- Extended Flight Time and Long-Range Control. It comes with two high-capacity, high-discharge 7.4V 800mAh Li-Po batteries, each providing up to 15 minutes of flight time, while the 300-meter control range ensures you can fully enjoy the flying experience.
- Cool appearance. This rc jet is made of durable EPP foam material, lightweight and not easy to damage. It features a striking design, and is easy to assemble.
- Structural reinforcement: carbon-fiber rods and an aluminum frame supplement the printed structure.
- Motor-area section: described as PPS-CF—polyphenylene sulfide reinforced with carbon fiber—and wrapped in carbon fiber to handle heat.
- Surface finish: Hackaday says the skin was polished smooth because skin drag is important at the intended speed. It gives no measured drag reduction.
The account does not name exact material grades, dimensions, or suppliers, so it does not support selecting a particular filament or reinforcement product as equivalent to the project’s materials.
What is known—and not known—about its performance?
The reported design choices and figures describe an engineering ambition, not a demonstrated flight envelope. The accessible Hackaday account does not establish KINGCHASER’s dimensions or mass, current flight-test status, measured top speed, downloadable print files, bill of materials, or safety and regulatory details. It also does not identify the engine make and model.
Rank #3
- APPEARANCE DESIGN. Desined according to F22S fighter real plane with cool appearance.Easy operation, suitable for beginners and intermediate flight game players, flying range up to 200 meters
- COOL LED LIGHTS. The fuselage is equipped with a high-brightness LED searchlight, which makes night flight even cooler.
- EPP MATERIAL.EPP foam composite material, which is one of the main materials for model aircraft. This material structure is highly flexible and not easy to damage.
- FUNCTION.Rudder volume size adjustble, and the plane can do all kinds of difficult movements accurately, such as going forward,up and down, turn left and right, fine tuning,360 degree rotation, spiral moxement, loops, etc
- CORELESS MOTORS.The 4 channel remote control aircraft uses 816 hollow cup motors, which makes the aircraft more powerful and more stable in flight.
Accordingly, the strongest supported description is a mostly 3D-printed RC jet project targeting Mach 0.8, with reported reinforcement, heat-conscious material choices, and a stated 300 N thrust figure. No claim that it has reached that speed—or even completed a flight—can be drawn from those details.
