If your Kindle page-turner has stopped working, first identify which kind you have: a Bluetooth remote paired to the Kindle app on a phone or tablet, or a screen-sensor clip controlled by an RF remote on a Kindle e-reader. They work differently, so the right fix depends on your setup.
First identify your Kindle and page-turner
Check where you are reading and how the accessory connects:

- Kindle app on a phone or tablet: A Bluetooth remote connects to that host device. Troubleshoot its Bluetooth connection and the app.
- Kindle e-reader with a screen-sensor clip: The clip detects the screen and is controlled by an RF remote. This is not a Bluetooth pairing setup; follow the accessory’s manual.
Do not assume a Bluetooth remote that works with a phone or tablet can pair directly with a Kindle e-reader. Amazon’s Kindle Bluetooth instructions cover audio accessories and say that pairing a Bluetooth phone, keyboard, or mouse with the e-reader is unsupported.

Fix a screen-sensor clip and RF remote
Pair and position the clip
Button sequences and compatibility differ by accessory, so use the instructions for your exact model. One surfaced manual gives this sequence: turn on the sensor clip, press the RF remote to pair, and wait for the clip to flash blue three times. Then place the clip in the indicated area of the screen and press the remote. On that model, the clip’s left-or-right placement determines whether it turns to the previous or next page. If the remote still does not turn pages
- Check that both the clip and remote have power and are switched on. Low-power indicators and charging methods vary by product.
- Clean the sensor tip and make sure it touches the screen. A clip that is not making contact may not register a page turn.
- Confirm the clip is in the position specified by its manual. If it blocks text, adjust its placement or the reading margins where available.
- Place the clip on the Kindle first, then try pairing again using the accessory’s instructions. A troubleshooting manual recommends this order. See the product FAQ manual.
- Check whether your accessory has a timeout or low-battery indicator. One manual describes automatic shutoff after 30 minutes without use; another says its indicator flashes red when power is low. These are model-specific behaviors, not general rules for all page-turners. See the user manual.
Fix a Bluetooth remote used with the Kindle app
For an app setup, confirm the remote is powered and shown as connected in the phone or tablet’s Bluetooth settings. Then try the following, in order:
- Restart the phone or tablet.
- Force-close the Kindle app, then reopen it.
- Disconnect the remote in the host device’s Bluetooth settings and reconnect it.
- Install available updates for the device and Kindle app.
These steps were suggested by Amazon staff in a particular iOS forum thread about an external keyboard that stopped turning pages. A later staff post said that issue had been resolved; the thread does not establish that every Bluetooth remote or current app version behaves the same way. See the Amazon forum discussion.

Check compatibility before buying or diagnosing a failure
Compatibility depends on the exact Kindle model and the specific accessory. Some page-turner manuals list unsupported Kindle models; one surfaced guide says older Kindles and Kindle 7/8 are incompatible with its product. That is not a universal compatibility rule. Check the accessory maker’s current compatibility information against your precise Kindle model before buying or treating a failure as a fault. Amazon’s Bluetooth help page does not provide a compatibility matrix for third-party page-turners.

A Kindle page-turner with a screen-sensor clip and RF remote may suit an e-reader only when the accessory specifically supports that model. It is not a generic Bluetooth remote, and the clip’s screen placement may affect where it sits relative to text. Compare model compatibility, placement, charging and any stated auto-shutoff behavior in the product’s documentation; these details vary, and the available manuals do not support a general ranking of brands or products.
