Und „ohne Datenumzug“ bedeutet weder „ohne Datenverarbeitung“ noch automatisch, dass jede Verarbeitung in einer bestimmten Region bleibt.
Was „ohne Datenumzug“ bei einem KI-Agenten bedeutet
In einem passenden Setup fragt der Agent bestehende Speicherorte oder verbundene Wissensquellen ab, statt dass Beschäftigte sämtliche Inhalte in einen neuen Datenspeicher für den Agenten verschieben müssen. Welche Quellen verfügbar sind und wie der Zugriff funktioniert, hängt von Produkt, Agententyp, Connector und Konfiguration ab. Microsoft dokumentiert diesen Ansatz für bestimmte Microsoft-365-Agenten; daraus lässt sich keine allgemeine Zusage für alle KI-Plattformen ableiten.

Bei SharePoint-Agents können laut Microsoft Websites, Seiten, Listen und ausgewählte Dateien als Wissensquelle dienen. Microsoft beschreibt außerdem Agents, die auf Microsoft Graph, Dataverse und weitere interne Quellen zugreifen können. Microsofts FAQ zu Agents in SharePoint und die Übersicht zu Agents in Microsoft 365 beschreiben die jeweiligen Möglichkeiten.
Welche Zugriffsrechte der Agent berücksichtigt
Microsoft sagt, Copilot zeige nur Unternehmensdaten an, für die einzelne Nutzer mindestens Anzeigeberechtigung haben. Der semantische Index soll diese benutzeridentitätsbasierte Zugriffsgrenze beachten. Das schützt jedoch nicht vor schlecht konfigurierten Quellrechten: Wenn vertrauliche Dateien zu vielen Personen oder Gruppen freigegeben sind, kann ein Agent Inhalte innerhalb dieser bestehenden Rechte zugänglich machen.

Vor dem Rollout sollten Verantwortliche deshalb die Berechtigungen der verbundenen SharePoint-, Teams- oder sonstigen Quellen prüfen und den Zugriff auf die vorgesehenen Nutzer und Gruppen begrenzen. Der Agent ersetzt keine Berechtigungsprüfung und korrigiert bestehende Freigaben nicht automatisch. Microsoft erläutert diese Anforderungen in der Dokumentation zu Datenschutz und Sicherheit für Microsoft Copilot.
Welche Daten trotzdem verarbeitet und gespeichert werden
Ein Agent muss eine Anfrage verarbeiten und passende Inhalte abrufen, um eine Antwort zu erzeugen. Microsoft erklärt, dass Copilot-Prompts, abgerufene Daten und generierte Antworten gemäß den einschlägigen Vertragsverpflichtungen verarbeitet und gespeichert werden. Microsoft gibt außerdem an, dass diese Daten im Ruhezustand verschlüsselt und nicht zum Training seiner generativen KI-Foundation-Modelle verwendet werden. Das sind Aussagen von Microsoft zu den beschriebenen Diensten; Organisationen sollten sie für ihre Lizenz, Verträge und konkrete Agent-Integration prüfen.

Microsoft nennt Purview und die Inhaltssuche als Möglichkeiten, gespeicherte Interaktionsdaten zu verwalten. Welche Aufbewahrungs- und Verwaltungsoptionen im jeweiligen Mandanten verfügbar sind, richtet sich nach Dienst und Konfiguration. „Kein Datenumzug“ sollte daher nicht mit „keine Speicherung“ gleichgesetzt werden.

Was die EU-Datengrenze zusagt – und was nicht
Microsoft beschreibt zusätzliche Schutzvorkehrungen für Nutzer in der EU und eine EU-Datengrenze. Die Dokumentation schränkt eine pauschale Zusage zur regionalen Verarbeitung aber ein: Bei Kapazitätsengpässen können Aufrufe an große Sprachmodelle in andere Regionen geleitet werden. Außerdem sind Anthropic-Modelle laut der Dokumentation derzeit von der EU-Datengrenze ausgenommen. Unternehmen müssen deshalb die konkrete Dienst- und Modellkonfiguration sowie ihre vertraglichen Zusagen prüfen, statt anzunehmen, jede Verarbeitung erfolge ausnahmslos innerhalb der EU.

Welche Voraussetzungen für einen SharePoint-Agent gelten
Microsoft nennt für das Erstellen eines Agents in SharePoint zwei Voraussetzungen: Bearbeitungsberechtigungen für die betreffende Website und entweder eine Microsoft-Copilot-Lizenz oder eine Organisation mit aktivierter nutzungsabhängiger Abrechnung für SharePoint-Agents. Die FAQ nennt Websites, Seiten, Listen und ausgewählte Dateien als mögliche Inhalte und beschreibt den Zugriff auf Agents auch außerhalb der SharePoint-Seite, etwa in Teams und Microsoft Copilot. Welche Optionen im konkreten Mandanten verfügbar sind, hängt von dessen aktueller Lizenz- und Admin-Konfiguration ab.

Was Administratoren vor der Freigabe prüfen sollten
Im Microsoft-365 Admin Center können Administratoren laut Microsoft erforderliche Berechtigungen, Datenzugriffe, Nutzungsbedingungen und Datenschutzhinweise eines Agents einsehen und Agents zulassen oder einschränken. SharePoint bietet außerdem Verwaltungs- und Überwachungsmöglichkeiten auf Website-Ebene. Eine Freigabe sollte deshalb nicht nur davon abhängen, ob der Agent technisch auf eine Quelle zugreifen kann.

- Quellberechtigungen: Sind nur die vorgesehenen Personen und Gruppen für sensible Inhalte zugelassen?
- Datenzugriff: Welche Websites, Dateien, Connectoren oder weiteren Quellen kann der Agent tatsächlich verwenden?
- Verarbeitung und Aufbewahrung: Welche Prompts, abgerufenen Inhalte und Antworten werden im Dienst gespeichert, und welche Verwaltungsoptionen gelten für den Mandanten?
- Region und Modell: Welche regionalen Verarbeitungszusagen gelten für die konkrete Konfiguration, einschließlich möglicher Ausnahmen?
- Freigabe und Betrieb: Welche Administrations-, Audit- und Überwachungsmöglichkeiten stehen zur Verfügung, und wer darf den Agent nutzen?
Microsoft beschreibt die Agent-Kontrollen im Microsoft-365 Admin Center. Diese Kontrollen ersetzen nicht die Prüfung der Datenquelle oder der für die Organisation geltenden Vertragsbedingungen.
