Just Create SMP 2 is the official Just Create SMP Season 2 modpack by mrbeardstone. The current listed release is 1.0.3 for Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge, and its matching server download is JCSMP S2 Server 1.0.3.zip. Install that exact client release, use the matching server pack for a self-hosted world, or deploy the server pack through CurseForge’s managed-hosting flow.
Godlike.Host offers modded Minecraft server hosting with one-click modpacks, a built-in mod installer and up to three free backups a day.
What Just Create SMP 2 is
Just Create SMP 2 is built around the Create mod’s engineering, automation and moving machinery, while keeping the rest of the experience close to Vanilla Minecraft. The project describes itself as a small, light multiplayer tech pack rather than a large kitchen-sink collection. Quality-of-life additions such as backpacks make long building and resource-gathering sessions easier without adding enormous structures, a sprawling technology tree or dramatic world-generation changes.

That matters when troubleshooting: a problem may belong to the pack configuration, NeoForge, Minecraft itself or an individual mod, so changing one component at random can make a working profile incompatible.
Compatibility and current files
| Item | Current listed value | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Pack | Just Create SMP 2 | Use the project authored by mrbeardstone. |
| Minecraft | 1.21.1 | Both client and server must target this game version. |
| Mod loader | NeoForge | A Forge or Fabric profile is not interchangeable. |
| Pack release | 1.0.3 | Use the same release family when joining a server. |
| Server artifact | JCSMP S2 Server 1.0.3.zip | Use this archive instead of assembling mods manually. |
| Reported project downloads | 83,667 total downloads, as listed by CurseForge in 2026 | A download count is an adoption signal, not a performance guarantee. |
The project pages do not publish a tested minimum RAM figure or a benchmark. Treat memory as a host-specific setting based on player count, view distance and other server settings rather than relying on a universal number.

What you need before installing
- A computer that can run Minecraft 1.21.1 and a launcher capable of installing CurseForge modpacks.
- A legal Minecraft account and an installed Java/Minecraft environment supported by your launcher and NeoForge.
- The same Just Create SMP 2 release on every player’s computer.
- For self-hosting, a clean server directory and the matching
JCSMP S2 Server 1.0.3.ziparchive. - For managed hosting, a CurseForge account, a supported payment method and a hosting region offered during checkout.
Do not update individual mods before the pack author confirms compatibility. Modpacks are tested as a set; changing one library or Create dependency can cause startup errors or make clients fail to connect.
Install Just Create SMP 2 on a client
- Install a compatible launcher. Install the CurseForge app, or another launcher that can import and install CurseForge modpacks. Sign in to the Minecraft account used to play.
- Find the project. Search for Just Create SMP 2 and verify that the author is mrbeardstone. Several similarly named projects may appear, so check the author and Minecraft version before installing.
- Select the listed profile. Choose the Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge profile and install the published 1.0.3 release. Do not substitute a Fabric profile or a different Minecraft version.
- Launch once. Start the profile from the launcher and wait for the title screen to appear. This first run creates the instance’s configuration, saves and log directories.
- Close the game before editing files. Exit Minecraft completely before changing configuration or copying saves. Editing while the game is running can be overwritten when it closes.
- Keep the profile unchanged for multiplayer. When joining a server, use the server owner’s stated release. If the server runs 1.0.3, install 1.0.3 rather than accepting a newer individual mod or a different pack revision.
Where the installed files live
The exact path depends on the launcher and operating system. Open the profile’s instance or installation folder from the launcher’s settings instead of guessing a default directory. The folder should contain the instance’s mods, config, saves and logs after the first launch. Back up a world by copying its save folder only after Minecraft is closed.

Start a single-player test world
Before inviting anyone, create a temporary world and confirm that the profile reaches the main menu and loads a world without errors. Test the Create features you intend to use, open the inventory to confirm quality-of-life additions are present, and leave the world after saving. This separates a client-installation problem from a server-connection problem.
Delete the test world from the in-game world-selection screen when it is no longer needed. Keep a separate backup of any world that matters; reinstalling a profile does not automatically protect saves stored outside the launcher-managed backup system.

Manual Just Create SMP 2 server setup
Self-hosting gives you direct access to server files and configuration, but you are responsible for installation, updates, backups, networking and recovery. Use the published server pack rather than downloading each mod separately.
- Create a clean directory. Make a new folder dedicated to this server. Do not extract the pack over another modpack’s files; old mods and configuration can produce misleading errors.
- Download the matching archive. From the Just Create SMP 2 files listing, obtain
JCSMP S2 Server 1.0.3.zip. Confirm that the archive corresponds to Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge. - Extract all files. Unzip the archive into the server directory, preserving its folder structure. Do not place the zip itself in the directory and expect the launcher to read it as an installed server.
- Install the required server environment. Use the NeoForge server files supplied or indicated by the pack and the Minecraft 1.21.1 server environment. The exact installer command and Java runtime requirement can vary by host operating system and are not specified on the project page, so follow the NeoForge instructions for your platform.
- Run the server once. Start it with the supplied NeoForge launcher files. The first run normally creates world and configuration files and may stop while it waits for the EULA decision.
- Accept the EULA. Open
eula.txt, change the EULA value totrueonly after reading and accepting Mojang’s terms, save the file and start the server again. - Review
server.properties. Set the world name, difficulty, game mode, player limit, view and simulation distances and other options appropriate to your group. Keep settings conservative while diagnosing performance; raise distances only after confirming the host can handle them. - Allocate memory deliberately. Set Java’s heap allocation according to the number of players, the host’s total RAM and your chosen distances. There is no project-published tested minimum, so do not copy a fixed value as a guarantee. Leave enough memory for the operating system and monitoring tools.
- Start and watch the log. Wait for the log to report that the server is ready before connecting. The first world generation can take longer than later starts.
- Install the matching client. Every player should install Just Create SMP 2 version 1.0.3 for Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge before attempting to connect.
Networking for a privately hosted server
The host must make the server reachable from each player’s network. The exact address, firewall rule and port depend on the operating system, router and hosting provider. Allow Java or the server process through the host firewall, configure router forwarding only when the server is behind a private home network, and give players the public address and configured port. Never publish administrative credentials or expose a management panel to the public internet.
Rank #4
- Skins! We have biome settlers, city folk, town folk, and more!
- The Nether and all its inhabitants. Fight Ghasts and make friends with Pigmen
- Cross platform play for up to five players between Pocket Edition and Windows 10
- Revamped touch controls, controller support, and a controller mapping screen
- Enhanced Weather effects! Accumulating snow and more
If players on the same local network can connect but remote players cannot, inspect the router forwarding and firewall first. If nobody can connect, verify that the server completed startup and that players are using the correct address, port, Minecraft version and pack release.
Use CurseForge managed hosting
CurseForge documents a managed option for supported modpacks that have a matching server pack. Its flow avoids manual file uploads and port forwarding: the provider deploys the server, while you choose the plan and region through the app. CurseForge states that this service is powered by Shockbyte and Tebex.
Best Value
- Play and share with friends on console, mobile and Windows 10
- discover community creations in the new in-game store
- access new mini games and game modes through servers
- Open Minecraft in the CurseForge app.
- Select the Servers tab.
- Choose Host A Server.
- Find Just Create SMP 2 and verify that the displayed server-pack filename matches
JCSMP S2 Server 1.0.3.zip. - Choose an available plan and region.
- Enter the server name and other requested details.
- Review the order and complete payment.
Plan prices, limits, support terms and regional availability can change. Check the choices displayed in the app at checkout rather than relying on an old price quoted elsewhere. A managed deployment removes much of the operating-system and router work, but you still need to keep players on the same modpack release and maintain world backups according to the host’s tools.

Manual hosting versus managed hosting
| Decision point | Manual server | CurseForge managed hosting |
|---|---|---|
| File and configuration control | Full access to server files, Java arguments, configs and backups. | Controlled through the provider’s panel and supported deployment options. |
| Initial effort | Extract the server pack, install NeoForge, accept the EULA and configure the host. | Choose the modpack from Servers > Host A Server and complete the guided order. |
| Modpack file uploads | You download and place the archive yourself. | CurseForge documents deployment without manual uploads for supported packs. |
| Port forwarding | May be required for a server behind a home router. | CurseForge’s documented flow avoids customer port forwarding. |
| Updates | You schedule backups, test the new pack and replace files yourself. | The provider handles infrastructure; you still control when your community changes client releases. |
| Backups and recovery | You choose the backup location and restoration process. | Use the host’s available backup tools and verify retention before depending on them. |
| Regional availability | Depends on your hardware, internet connection and network location. | Limited to regions shown in the hosting workflow. |
| Recurring cost | Not stated by the project; depends on your hardware or chosen host. | Current plan prices are shown at purchase and are not established by the project page. |
| Support | You diagnose Java, NeoForge, networking and mod errors. | Provider support covers the hosting service; modpack issues may still require pack-specific troubleshooting. |
Keeping a server stable
Back up before every change
Stop the server cleanly, copy the world directory and preserve the server configuration before changing the pack release, NeoForge files or major settings. Label backups with the date and release, such as world-2026-10-15-1.0.3. Test restoring a copy periodically; a backup that has never been restored is only an assumption.
Update as a complete release
When a newer Just Create SMP release is published, read its files listing and change the server and every client as a coordinated upgrade. Do not update one mod because a launcher offers an update badge. Keep the old server directory until the new release has loaded a copied world successfully.
Watch resources during real play
Record memory use, tick performance and disk space while several players explore and build. Create machinery and new chunks can produce a different workload from an empty spawn area. If performance drops, lower view or simulation distance and remove unnecessary background processes before adding more memory.
Troubleshooting checklist
The pack does not appear in the launcher
- Search the exact name Just Create SMP 2.
- Confirm the author is mrbeardstone.
- Use a launcher that supports CurseForge modpacks.
- Sign out and back in if the launcher cannot refresh the project listing.
The game crashes during startup
- Confirm the profile says Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge.
- Remove manually added mods and restore the published pack files.
- Undo any individual mod update.
- Launch with the profile’s default configuration before adding shaders or client customizations.
- Read the latest log and crash report; the first mod or library named is a lead, not proof that it is the only cause.
The server stops immediately
- Check that the server pack was fully extracted into a clean directory.
- Verify that the NeoForge launcher files and Minecraft version match 1.21.1.
- Read the console for an EULA message and set
eula=trueonly after accepting the terms. - Check available disk space and the Java memory allocation.
- Remove files copied from another modpack and restore a clean server-pack extraction.
Players receive a mod or version mismatch
- Compare the server release with each client’s profile; all should be on 1.0.3 unless the server owner has deliberately migrated everyone.
- Confirm that every client uses NeoForge, not Fabric or a different loader.
- Do not keep a newer individual mod in a client’s
modsfolder. - Restart both the launcher and server after correcting files so cached processes are not involved.
Remote players cannot connect
- Confirm the server reached its ready state.
- Check the address and configured port supplied to players.
- Review the host firewall and, for home hosting, router forwarding.
- Test from a second network to distinguish a local-network issue from an internet-reachability issue.
- Use managed hosting if you do not want to administer router and firewall settings.
Which setup should you choose?
Choose manual hosting when
- You need direct access to configuration, Java arguments, logs and world files.
- You already administer a reachable machine and can maintain backups.
- You are comfortable diagnosing NeoForge, firewall and router issues.
Choose managed hosting when
- You want a guided deployment from the CurseForge app.
- You want to avoid manual uploads and port forwarding.
- You prefer paying for a plan rather than maintaining server hardware and networking.
Whichever route you choose, the important compatibility rule is unchanged: use Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge and the same Just Create SMP 2 release on the server and every client.
