What does Resmo add to JumpCloud?
Resmo brought SaaS, cloud and IT-asset discovery and security capabilities aimed at cloud-native IT and SecOps teams. JumpCloud said the technology would help customers identify unmanaged applications and IT resources, apply secure access, and improve visibility across an organization. Greg Keller, JumpCloud co-founder and CTO, summarized the problem: “For IT teams, you can’t secure what you don’t know about.” JumpCloud’s announcement

Why did JumpCloud acquire Resmo?
The strategic target was shadow IT and tool sprawl. Employees can adopt SaaS services or other resources without IT teams knowing they exist, making it harder to secure access and maintain an accurate view of company technology. JumpCloud presented Resmo as a way to broaden visibility and bring discovery, access control and asset management closer together.
JumpCloud cited research in 2024 saying 75% of IT administrators preferred a single tool for these critical tasks; the company attributed that figure to recent sponsored third-party research. It also said its customer research found administrators commonly needed five to 10 applications to manage the worker lifecycle. These are JumpCloud-reported figures, not independent measurements of the acquisition’s results. JumpCloud’s 2024 IT trends report
What could the acquisition mean for IT teams and MSPs?
For enterprise and midmarket IT departments and SecOps teams, the intended benefit is a broader view of what technology is in use and a more consolidated way to connect asset discovery with identity, devices and access controls. For managed service providers, a centralized approach could be relevant when overseeing clients’ IT environments, but the announcement does not establish specific MSP packaging, partner terms or operating features.
JumpCloud said more than 200,000 organizations were using its platform in 2024 and reported raising over $400 million from investors including General Atlantic, Sapphire Ventures, Sands Capital, Atlassian and CrowdStrike. Those company-reported figures describe JumpCloud at the time of the announcement; they do not by themselves show how widely Resmo’s capabilities were adopted after the deal. JumpCloud’s announcement

The acquisition announcement explains the strategic intent: add discovery and governance for SaaS, cloud and IT assets to JumpCloud’s identity, device and access platform. It does not establish current product packaging, pricing, availability of specific Resmo features, or commercial terms for MSPs and partners. Those details require confirmation from JumpCloud’s current product and partner information rather than assumptions based on the 2024 announcement.
