If Jantar Mantar Chalo appears not to respond, first use the control scheme published on the official game page: desktop play is based on pointing, clicking and right-clicking rather than a documented WASD layout; touch play uses dragging, tapping, LATHI and GAS controls. Andolankari players grow a kafila by walking into people and must reach Jantar Mantar. If movement works but the crowd does not grow, make sure you are physically walking into people rather than clicking them from a distance.

Police players break kafilas with the lathi, use tear gas and watch for large crowds. A right-click that is released immediately is not the same as the documented hold-to-aim, release-to-throw sequence.

That is the complete keyboard list published by the cited official page. Do not assume that WASD, arrow keys, a gamepad or a controller is supported until a later official control screen says so.
Fix desktop controls that seem dead
- Open the official page. Confirm that the active tab is https://mantarjantar.com/, not a search preview, an embedded copy or a stale tab.
- Wait for the interface. If the page still displays “Checking server…”, allow that state to finish before testing movement.
- Give the game focus. Click an empty part of the game canvas or its menu once. Browser tabs, address bars and other windows consume keyboard and mouse input when they have focus.
- Test movement without a keyboard. Point inside the game and move the pointer. If the character responds, the game is working and the expected desktop model is pointer-based.
- Test the action for your role. Andolankari uses click, held click at a barricade and held right-click to run. Dilli Police uses click for lathi and held right-click for tear-gas aiming.
- Check the button state. A push requires holding left click; tear gas requires holding right click and releasing it to throw. A fast press-and-release can look like a failed input.
- Close duplicate game tabs. Keep one active game tab so another copy cannot capture focus or leave an old session on top.
- Retry after a normal reload. Reload the official page if the canvas is visibly frozen. This is ordinary browser troubleshooting, not a published game-specific requirement.
If left and right clicks work elsewhere but not inside the game, first repeat the focus and loading checks. The available documentation does not identify a required browser name or version, so avoid claiming that a particular browser is guaranteed or required.

Fix touch controls on a phone or tablet
The official touch instructions use gestures rather than a keyboard map. They show drag to walk, a farther drag to run, a second-finger tap or an action button to act, and dedicated LATHI and GAS controls for Dilli Police.
Andolankari touch actions
- Walk: drag in the game area.
- Run: drag farther than you would for walking.
- Act: use a second-finger tap or the visible action button.
- Push: hold the action gesture at a barricade rather than tapping once.
Keep the gesture inside the game area. A swipe that begins on the browser’s address bar, a notification shade or another app is not delivered to the game.
Dilli Police touch actions
- Lathi: tap the LATHI control or use the documented second-finger tap.
- Aim tear gas: hold GAS while positioning the aim.

- Leave only one game tab open and return to the visible game canvas.
- Tap the canvas once, then try a short drag and a farther drag.
- Use the on-screen action, LATHI or GAS control instead of relying on a gesture that may be intercepted by the browser.
- Keep one finger or two fingers inside the game area for the entire documented gesture; do not start on page chrome.
- Reload the official page if the interface is partially rendered, then wait for the server check to finish.
The cited page shows generic touch controls and an Android APK route, but it does not provide an iOS App Store listing or an iPhone compatibility guarantee. Resolve loading and server-check problems
What “Checking server…” means on the page
The official interface visibly uses a “Checking server…” state before you select a mode. Let that state complete instead of repeatedly clicking PLAY ONLINE. Repeated clicks can leave multiple attempts or tabs competing for focus.
A clean retry sequence
- Close duplicate copies of the game.
- Open https://mantarjantar.com/ in one tab.
- Wait for the server-check message to clear.
- Select PLAY ONLINE for multiplayer or Practice offline when you want a local practice session.
- If online play fails, return to the page and try Practice offline, where the option is available.

The game’s satire also depicts detention relocations and other disruptions. Check whether the rest of the scene continues to animate and whether the message appears as an in-game overlay. If movement and other actions continue, treat the message as gameplay first. Only after the entire page stops responding should you return to the loading steps above.

Reduce stutter or unreadable graphics

Dilli Police objective
Dilli Police players break kafilas, use the lathi, aim and throw tear gas, and load leaders onto a bus. The game expects different inputs for this role, which is why LATHI and GAS appear only when the police controls are active.
Satirical obstacles
The official page says that all characters, shops and brands are fictional and labels the game satire. Indian Express reported on 15 October 2026 that the game was created by 27-year-old IT professional Suraj Kushwah and is available at mantarjantar.com. That framing explains why movement, crowds, police actions and disruption events are central mechanics rather than incidental bugs.
