The Logitech MX Keys S is a full-size wireless keyboard to consider if you want backlit keys, a dedicated number pad and the option to switch among multiple devices. If you have limited desk space or do not need a number pad, compare it with the smaller MX Keys Mini. The better fit depends on your layout needs, connection preferences, operating system and local price—not on an independently verified typing or comfort advantage.
Which MX Keys model should you compare?
Logitech’s MX Keys S is the full-size model; the MX Keys Mini is the compact alternative. The S has an integrated number pad, while the Mini gives up that dedicated pad to reduce its footprint.

These are Logitech specifications, not independent measurements. The S is about 134 mm wider and 304 g heavier than the Mini according to those specifications. If you regularly enter figures in spreadsheets or use number-pad shortcuts, the full-size layout may justify the extra desk space. If compactness or carrying the keyboard matters more, the Mini is the closer match.

What connections and device switching does the MX Keys S support?
The MX Keys S connects over Bluetooth Low Energy or the included Logi Bolt receiver, and Logitech says it can pair with up to three devices for switching between them. Logitech also says the keyboard is not compatible with other Logitech USB receivers. Check whether your computer has Bluetooth available or an open USB port for the included receiver.

The MX Keys Mini pairs with up to three devices over Bluetooth Low Energy. Logitech describes it as Logi Bolt compatible, but says a Bolt receiver is not included. If you specifically need a receiver, account for that difference when comparing the two models.
Will it work with your operating system?
Logitech lists MX Keys S support for Windows 10 or later and macOS 10.15 or later. It also describes basic functions on Linux, ChromeOS, iPadOS and Android, subject to the connection and operating-system qualifications on its product page. Logi Options+ customization is listed for Windows and macOS; verify that your system supports the customizations you want before choosing the keyboard.

There is a specific Mac login caveat: Logitech notes that FileVault on some Macs can prevent Bluetooth devices from connecting before login and advises using the compatible Logi Bolt receiver in that situation.
How long does the battery last, and what comes in the box?
Logitech estimates that a full charge lasts up to 10 days with predefined settings or up to five months with backlighting off. These are manufacturer estimates, and Logitech says actual battery life varies with use and computing conditions. The keyboard charges over USB-C. If you rely on backlighting, use the shorter stated estimate as the more relevant comparison point rather than assuming the longer figure applies.

Logitech lists a Logi Bolt receiver in the MX Keys S package. The MX Keys Mini is Bolt compatible, but its receiver is not included. The MX palm rest is sold separately. Logitech lists a two-year warranty for the MX Keys S; check the terms that apply in your location.

- Choose the MX Keys S for consideration if you want a full-size layout, use a dedicated number pad, value backlighting, or plan to switch among as many as three paired devices.
- Compare the MX Keys Mini if desk width or portability is more important than a number pad and Bluetooth pairing suits your setup.
- Check before buying if you depend on Logi Options+ customization, need a USB receiver, use a non-Windows or non-macOS system, or require a particular regional keyboard layout.

Logitech describes the MX Keys S as a membrane/scissor-key keyboard with illuminated keys, hand-proximity and ambient-light sensors, and easy switching. Those are product specifications, not evidence of a measured comfort, speed or durability advantage. Logitech’s claims do not establish that it will feel better to type on than another keyboard; consider your layout and requirements, and check the return terms if feel is decisive.
