Should you play it while you wait?
Choose Spiritfarer if you want a complete Thunder Lotus game with a gentler pace, management activities, and an emotional focus on caring for characters and saying goodbye. Skip it as a substitute if what you want from At Fate’s End is sword fighting, tactical conversations, or family duels; the publisher’s descriptions do not suggest those are Spiritfarer’s focus.
If you want to play, the Farewell Edition is the edition Thunder Lotus identifies as definitive. Thunder Lotus’ homepage update dated October 6, 2026 says At Fate’s End is coming in 2027 and that a Steam demo is out now. Its dedicated game page still carries an older 2026 release window, so the newer homepage update is the latest surfaced publisher statement. Release plans and demo availability can change; check Thunder Lotus’ homepage for the current status.
The dedicated page lists Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Xbox Game Pass, and describes the game as single-player. Treat that platform information as publisher-stated and subject to change.

How established is Spiritfarer?
Thunder Lotus said in a June 8, 2025 press release that Spiritfarer had sold over 2,000,000 copies worldwide. That is a dated figure from the studio, not a current lifetime sales total. Read the publisher’s 2025 announcement.
