The latest reported results, for the quarter and six months ended June 30, 2026, show a strong year-over-year improvement in Q2 but negative industrial free cash flow for the first half. The company’s FY 2025 loss and cash outflow remain important context.
How do I evaluate Stellantis stock?
Separate three questions that are easy to blur together: Is the business recovering? Is its balance sheet resilient enough to fund that recovery? And does the share price offer value? Company results can help answer the first two, but they do not establish whether the stock is cheap or expensive. That requires a dated share price and a valuation method, neither of which is supplied by the financial results discussed here.

Start with reported results, then test whether improvement reaches cash flow. Compare the same periods, distinguish IFRS results from Stellantis’ adjusted measures, and look at industrial debt and liquidity separately from its financial-services operations. Finally, treat brand and product plans as management’s strategy, not as evidence that any individual brand is profitable.

The answer depends on the period and measure. In FY 2025, Stellantis reported a net loss and negative adjusted operating income. In Q2 2026, it returned to a small IFRS net profit and reported higher adjusted operating income than in the prior-year quarter. The contrast is evidence of improvement, but one quarter does not show that profitability has been restored consistently.

The annual figures are from Stellantis’ FY 2025 results; Q2 and H1 figures are from its Q2 2026 results and interim report for the six months ended June 30, 2026. The H1 comparison shows improvement from the prior year, but the half-year cash figure was still negative.
Read adjusted margin alongside IFRS results
Stellantis calculates adjusted operating income (AOI) margin by dividing AOI by net revenue. AOI excludes items including restructuring and other termination costs, impairments, asset write-offs, disposals of investments, unusual operating income or expense, net financial income or expense, and tax. The company says the measure helps management assess ongoing operations, but cautions that it should not replace IFRS net profit, cash flow, or other IFRS analysis and may not be comparable with similarly named measures from other companies. See the definitions in the interim report.
For an investor, the useful test is whether improvement appears in both adjusted operating performance and reported results over successive periods—and whether it converts into cash after investment. A better adjusted margin is less persuasive if large exclusions continue to dominate reported results or cash generation remains weak.
Account for the FY 2025 reset
Stellantis attributed its FY 2025 net loss to €25.4 billion in unusual charges, chiefly related to a strategic reset. That context helps explain why the annual loss was so large, but it does not make the loss or its cash consequences irrelevant. Investors should track whether similar charges recur and how much cash the company still expects to pay for prior-period actions.
How much debt does Stellantis have?
Use Stellantis’ industrial net financial position, and read its sign carefully. At June 30, 2026, the company reported a positive €10.035 billion industrial net financial position; under Stellantis’ presentation, a positive figure represents net industrial debt, not net cash. The equivalent figure at December 31, 2025 was €6.694 billion. The measure excludes debt, cash, and other financial assets or liabilities belonging to financial-services entities, so it is not a consolidated debt total.
The company said the change since year-end primarily reflected proceeds from hybrid perpetual notes, partly offset by negative H1 industrial free cash flow. This distinction matters: financing can change the reported balance-sheet position without demonstrating that operations are generating cash to reduce debt. Stellantis explains the measure and its scope in the 2026 interim report.

Put liquidity beside debt
Industrial available liquidity was €44.145 billion at June 30, 2026, compared with €45.711 billion at year-end 2025. This is a substantial resilience buffer, but it is not the same as recurring cash generation and does not by itself show that industrial debt is falling. For annual context, industrial available liquidity ended FY 2025 at €46 billion, according to the FY 2025 results.
The board authorized suspension of the 2026 dividend and issuance of up to €5 billion of hybrid bonds to preserve a strong balance sheet. These are dated FY 2025 decisions; later updates could change their relevance to an investment decision.
Is Stellantis generating free cash flow?
Not yet on a first-half basis. Q2 2026 industrial free cash flow was positive €1.0 billion, while H1 was negative €921 million. The H1 result was substantially better than the negative €3.005 billion recorded in H1 2025, but it still means the first-half cash total had not turned positive.

Stellantis describes industrial free cash flow as a key industrial cash metric. It starts with cash flows from operating activities, removes discontinued and financial-services operating cash flows and industrial investment in property, plant, equipment, and intangible assets, and makes adjustments for certain joint-venture investments, intercompany payments, asset disposals, and pension contributions. It is a company-defined non-GAAP measure, not a generic free-cash-flow formula or a substitute for IFRS operating cash flow. The definition is in the interim report.
Cash can shift between reporting periods because of receivables monetization, factoring, accounts-payable timing, and other working-capital movements. Stellantis also said H1 cash outflows included payments related to H2 2025 charges. To judge a durable turn, compare multiple periods, check the reconciliation to operating cash flow, and distinguish recurring operating cash generation from working-capital timing and one-off payments.

What are Stellantis’ most important brands?
Stellantis reports financial performance by geography, not by individual marque. Effective January 2026, its five reportable operating segments are North America, Enlarged Europe, Middle East & Africa, South America, and Asia Pacific. Regional revenue, shipments, and margins can help show where performance is improving, but they do not establish the profitability of Jeep, Ram, Peugeot, or any other individual brand.

Management identified Jeep, Ram, Peugeot, and FIAT as the four global brands with the greatest scale and profitability potential. It said approximately 70% of planned brand and product investment would go to those brands and Pro One, its commercial vehicle business unit. Chrysler, Dodge, Citroën, Opel, and Alfa Romeo were described as regional brands operating in core markets; DS and Lancia are to be managed within Citroën and FIAT organizations as specialty brands. These are management’s portfolio priorities, not independently verified forecasts of brand-level returns.
Use product plans as hypotheses to test
The interim report describes a plan through 2030 for more than 60 new vehicle models and approximately 50 significant model refreshes across brands and powertrains. A broad launch schedule could support volume and mix, but it also entails investment and execution demands. Treat the plan as a possible driver of future revenue and margins, then look for reported evidence in shipments, pricing, regional performance, and cash flow rather than assuming the launches will produce a particular return.
What is Stellantis’ outlook for 2026?
After Q2, management reaffirmed expectations for mid-single-digit net revenue growth, a low-single-digit adjusted operating margin, and improved year-over-year industrial free cash flow. These are company forecasts, not achieved results. The cash outlook includes approximately €2 billion in 2026 payments related to H2 2025 charges, of which €0.9 billion had been paid in H1. Stellantis said it expects positive industrial free cash flow in 2027. The outlook and payment figures are in its Q2 2026 results and FY 2025 results.

Measure future results against the guidance rather than treating it as a valuation signal. The most useful checkpoints are whether revenue growth persists, adjusted performance improves without relying on exclusions, and industrial free cash flow turns positive over a sustained period after investment and cash payments.
Quick Recap
A practical Stellantis stock evaluation checklist
- Revenue: Compare year-over-year growth with changes in volume and mix, net pricing, foreign exchange, and regional contribution. The interim report attributes Q2 revenue growth mainly to volume and mix, partly offset by net price and FX/other; H1 growth also faced a material FX/other drag.
- Profitability: Track IFRS operating income and net profit alongside AOI and adjusted margin, using like-for-like periods and noting material exclusions.
- Cash conversion: Look for repeated positive industrial free cash flow after investment; inspect working-capital movements and one-off payments rather than relying on a single quarter.
- Balance sheet: Compare industrial net financial position with the same measure from earlier periods, understand financing effects, and review liquidity without confusing it with operating cash generation.
- Portfolio execution: Follow regional results and product launches, but do not infer a brand’s margin from geographic segment data.
- Valuation: Use a dated share price and a clearly stated valuation approach before deciding whether the business’s prospects are reflected in the stock. Operating recovery alone cannot answer that question.
