Yes. SpaceX is publicly traded. Its Class A common stock began trading on June 12, 2026, on the Nasdaq Global Select Market and Nasdaq Texas under the ticker SPCX. SpaceX’s June 15, 2026 closing announcement says the IPO issued 638,888,888 Class A shares and raised approximately $85.7 billion in gross proceeds.
For most investors, the straightforward route is to look for SPCX in an eligible brokerage account and place an ordinary stock order. Exchange-traded products such as LOFF, LOFD and SPCU provide leveraged or inverse daily exposure to SPCX, but they are not substitutes for owning SpaceX shares. Their daily reset, leverage, fees and compounding can produce results that differ sharply from SPCX over periods longer than one trading day.

What changed: SpaceX is no longer a private-only investment
Before June 2026, ordinary investors generally could not buy SpaceX shares on a public exchange. That changed when SpaceX completed its IPO. According to Space Exploration Technologies Corp.’s June 15, 2026 closing announcement, Class A common stock started trading two days earlier, on June 12, 2026.
The listed ticker is SPCX. The announcement identifies both the Nasdaq Global Select Market and Nasdaq Texas as trading venues. The offering closed with 638,888,888 Class A shares issued and approximately $85.7 billion in gross proceeds. Those figures describe the IPO transaction; they are not a promise about the company’s current market value or future share price.

Public status means eligible investors can obtain market exposure through a regulated brokerage, subject to the broker’s supported exchanges, account permissions and the rules in the investor’s jurisdiction. It does not mean every brokerage account automatically supports SPCX, nor does it make every SpaceX-related product an ownership interest.
How to buy SpaceX stock directly
1. Confirm that you are eligible to trade the listing
Check whether your brokerage supports U.S.-listed securities and the venue on which SPCX is available. The cited company announcement names Nasdaq Global Select Market and Nasdaq Texas, but it does not establish support by every broker or country. Residents outside the United States should also confirm whether local securities rules, currency conversion and account restrictions apply.
2. Search for the exact symbol
Use the broker’s security search and enter SPCX. Verify that the result identifies SpaceX Class A common stock rather than a similarly named fund, derivative or unlisted security. Review the exchange, current quote, trading status and security description before proceeding.
3. Review the order details
Choose the order type your plan requires. A market order seeks immediate execution at available prices, while a limit order specifies the maximum price you will pay. The appropriate choice depends on your priorities and market conditions; the company announcement does not recommend one order type.
4. Check the estimated total cost
Review the displayed share price, quantity, commissions or account charges, currency-conversion costs where applicable, and the quoted bid-ask spread. The public sources supplied for this article do not establish a universal commission schedule or a current spread for SPCX, so use the live order preview rather than relying on a generic cost estimate.

Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
5. Submit and verify the fill
After submitting an order, check whether it filled completely, partially or not at all. Save the trade confirmation and verify the final execution price and quantity. A ticker appearing in a search field is not proof that an order was executed.
What “owning SPCX” gives you—and what it does not
Buying SPCX means buying the listed Class A common stock, not a private-placement contract. Direct shares are the closest exchange-traded representation of an ownership interest in SpaceX available through the public listing. The supplied company announcement establishes the class and listing, but it does not provide a detailed statement of voting rights, dividend policy or other shareholder terms in the material available here. Read the current offering documents and company filings for those rights before trading.
Direct ownership also leaves you with the ordinary risks of a single company and a newly listed security: the share price can move sharply, trading conditions can change, and the stock may not suit every time horizon or risk tolerance. Public-company status makes transactions possible; it does not reduce investment risk.
Leveraged and inverse ways to trade SPCX exposure
Several exchange-traded products are tied to SPCX. They are designed for tactical exposure to the stock’s daily move, not as ordinary SpaceX ownership.
| Product | Objective or relationship to SPCX | Inception or listing date stated by the source | What the structure means |
|---|---|---|---|
| LOFF (Direxion) | Seeks 200% of SPCX’s daily performance | June 15, 2026 inception | Leveraged daily exposure; returns are reset each trading day |
| LOFD (Direxion) | Seeks 200% of the inverse of SPCX’s daily performance | August 6, 2026 inception | Inverse leveraged daily exposure; it is intended to rise when SPCX falls on a given day |
| SPCU (Defiance Daily Target 2X Long SPCX ETF) | Seeks 200% of SpaceX’s daily performance | Listed June 15, 2026 | Leveraged daily exposure without requiring the investor to use a margin account |
The 200% objective is a daily target before fees and expenses, not a guaranteed two-times result over a week, month or year. Direxion expressly warns: “Investing in the funds is not equivalent to investing directly in SpaceX.” Cboe’s listing information describes SPCU as a daily-target product, and the issuer materials for LOFF and LOFD emphasize the same daily-reset structure.

Why daily reset and compounding matter
A daily leveraged fund recalculates its target after each trading session. Because the next day’s target is based on the fund’s new value, the sequence of returns matters—not just SPCX’s change between the first and last day.

Suppose SPCX rises 10% on day one and falls 10% on day two. SPCX would finish the two-day period down 1%: 1.10 multiplied by 0.90 equals 0.99. A hypothetical 2× daily product would target plus 20% on day one and minus 20% on day two. Starting at 100, that sequence would produce 120 and then 96, a 4% loss. This is a mathematical illustration, not a forecast or a report of any product’s actual return.
In a choppy market, repeated gains and losses can erode a leveraged fund even when SPCX is little changed over the full period. A strong, sustained trend can produce a different outcome. Volatility, the path of daily returns, fund expenses, financing and trading costs all affect the result.
Inverse products add another layer of risk
LOFD seeks 200% of the inverse daily performance. If SPCX falls on a particular day, the fund’s target is a positive move roughly twice that daily decline; if SPCX rises, the target is a negative move roughly twice that daily gain, before fees and expenses. Over multiple days, the inverse relationship can diverge from simply taking the opposite of SPCX’s total-period return.
Direct shares versus leveraged ETFs
| Decision factor | SPCX Class A shares | LOFF, LOFD or SPCU |
|---|---|---|
| Ownership | Direct listed ownership of Class A common stock | Fund shares; not direct SpaceX ownership |
| Exposure target | Tracks the market price of SPCX itself | Targets a multiple or inverse of SPCX’s daily move |
| Voting and shareholder rights | Governed by the terms of the Class A shares and company documents | No direct SpaceX shareholder rights from holding the fund |
| Reset schedule | No daily leverage reset | Daily reset is central to the stated objective |
| Holding-period sensitivity | Performance depends on the share price over the period held | Compounding can make multi-day or long-term results differ materially from the stated multiple |
| Costs | Brokerage charges, spread and any applicable account or market costs | Brokerage charges, spread and fund expenses; current amounts must be checked in each prospectus |
| Margin requirement | Ordinary shares can generally be purchased with available cash or through an approved margin arrangement, subject to broker rules | SPCU is described by Cboe as seeking its daily target without requiring the investor to use a margin account; fund ownership still carries leverage risk |
| Liquidity | Check the live quote, volume and spread for SPCX | Check the live quote, volume and spread for the specific fund |
The table separates product design from suitability. A fund that can be bought without opening a margin account can still magnify losses through its own embedded leverage.

How to evaluate a product before placing an order
- Identify the exposure you actually want. If you want the closest public-market ownership interest, investigate SPCX. If you want a short-term amplified or inverse trading position, examine the relevant fund’s stated daily objective.
- Read the current prospectus. Confirm the target, reset period, expense ratio, financing arrangements, trading hours, distributions and principal risks. The supplied materials do not state current fees, so do not assume that products with similar names have identical costs.
- Check the exchange and live market. Verify that the symbol is active, review the bid and ask, and consider whether the spread and available volume are acceptable for your order size.
- Set a holding-period rule. Daily products require monitoring because their objective applies to one day. Holding them for longer can create compounding outcomes that are very different from 200% of SPCX’s total return.
- Decide how you will limit risk. Define the maximum loss, position size and exit conditions before trading. A 2× or inverse label is not a risk-control mechanism.
- Recheck after execution. Confirm the fill, monitor the next reset and review whether the product still matches your intended exposure.
Costs, liquidity and availability to verify
Listing information alone does not answer every practical brokerage question. Before buying, verify:
- Whether your account and jurisdiction are permitted to trade SPCX or the particular ETF.
- Whether the broker routes orders to the relevant exchange and displays current quotes.
- Any commission, platform, currency-conversion or regulatory charges shown at order entry.
- The fund’s expense ratio and other costs in its latest prospectus.
- Typical and current bid-ask spreads, trading volume and the possibility of partial execution.
- Whether the product has restrictions on options, short sales, retirement accounts or other account types.
These details can change after a listing. The most reliable check is the broker’s current security page and the issuer’s current prospectus, not an old ticker list or a third-party summary.
Common mistakes when searching for SpaceX exposure
Confusing a ticker with ownership
SPCX represents the listed Class A stock. LOFF, LOFD and SPCU represent fund shares with stated daily objectives. Buying one of the funds does not give you direct SpaceX voting or shareholder rights.
Assuming “2×” applies to a month or a year
The products identified here target 200% of a single day’s move. They do not promise 200% of SPCX’s return over an arbitrary holding period.

Ignoring inverse-product path risk
An inverse daily target is not the same as simply selling SPCX or receiving the opposite of its cumulative return. Daily resets and volatility can produce unexpected results.

Treating a new listing as a stable benchmark
SPCX began trading on June 12, 2026. Early trading history is limited relative to older public companies, and the market price can change as investors discover the stock.
Which route fits which objective?
- Long-term company exposure: Start by researching SPCX Class A shares and the company’s current filings. This is the route that most closely corresponds to owning the listed security.
- Short-term bullish trading: A daily 2× product such as LOFF or SPCU is designed for amplified daily exposure, but requires understanding reset mechanics, volatility and costs.
- Short-term bearish trading: LOFD is designed for 200% inverse daily exposure. Its result depends on the daily path of SPCX and can diverge from the opposite of a multi-day stock return.
- Uncertain access: Ask the broker whether SPCX and the named funds are available in your jurisdiction, then read the applicable documents before deciding.
None of these routes eliminates company-specific risk, market risk or the need to check current terms. Product availability and exchange details are time-sensitive.
