No. Samsung Good Lock is not guaranteed to be available on every Galaxy phone. Samsung lists Android 8.0 or newer as the app baseline and says Good Lock version 3.X.X supports One UI 4.0 and later, but the same listing warns that some devices may not be supported. Samsung also says availability can change with the phone model, installed software and Galaxy Store region. The reliable answer for any individual phone is what Galaxy Store shows on that phone.
The direct answer: Galaxy branding is not enough
Good Lock is Samsung’s modular customization app for Galaxy devices, but “Galaxy” is a product family rather than a single compatibility category. Samsung does not promise that every Galaxy phone can install the app. A phone can be a genuine Samsung Galaxy model and still lack a Good Lock listing because of its model, software version or regional store context.

The current Galaxy Store listing consulted for this article gives Android 8.0 or higher as the operating-system baseline. It also says that Good Lock version 3.X.X supports devices running One UI 4.0 and later. Those statements describe software requirements, not a universal model guarantee: the listing separately cautions that some devices may not be supported.

What determines whether Good Lock appears?
Samsung identifies three practical variables. They can affect the main Good Lock app, the plug-ins inside it, or both.
| Compatibility factor | What Samsung establishes | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Phone model | Some Galaxy models are not supported, and Good Lock is not available on all models. | Two Galaxy phones on the same Android release may show different results in Galaxy Store. |
| Installed software | Samsung lists Android 8.0 or higher as the app baseline and states that Good Lock 3.X.X supports One UI 4.0 and later. Availability can vary by software version. | An older Android or One UI build may prevent installation, and an update does not guarantee support if the model remains excluded. |
| Region and store context | Samsung says availability can vary by region; plug-in availability can also depend on region. | The same model may have a Good Lock listing or a different set of modules in one Galaxy Store region and not another. |
Samsung’s published material does not provide a complete device-by-country compatibility matrix. Therefore, a list on another website cannot replace the store result for your exact model, software build and account region.
How to check whether your Galaxy phone can use Good Lock
Samsung’s India support article gives a straightforward, device-specific check. It does not require you to infer compatibility from a model name or an Android version.
- Use the Galaxy phone you want to check. The store result needs to be observed on that device because availability is tied to device, software and regional context.
- Open Galaxy Store. Use Samsung’s own store rather than assuming that a listing seen elsewhere applies to your phone.
- Search for “Good Lock.” Search the exact app name.
- Read the result shown for that phone. If Galaxy Store offers Good Lock for installation, Samsung’s support instructions treat that as the practical availability check.
- Install it from the Galaxy Store result. If the store does not offer the app, do not treat the absence as proof of one specific failure; model, software and region are all possible factors, and Samsung does not publish a full matrix explaining every missing listing.
For a more informed check, note the Android and One UI versions shown in the phone’s software information and compare them with Samsung’s stated baselines. This comparison can identify an obvious software mismatch, but the Galaxy Store result remains decisive because Samsung keeps a device-exception warning alongside those baselines.

Understanding the Android 8.0 and One UI 4.0 statements
Android 8.0 or higher is a baseline, not a guarantee
The Galaxy Store description says Good Lock is available on Samsung devices running Android 8.0 or higher. “Baseline” is the important qualification: it indicates the oldest Android level named in the listing, not a promise that every Samsung device on that level qualifies. The same listing says some devices may not be supported, so an Android 8.0-or-newer phone can still be excluded.
One UI 4.0 and later applies to Good Lock 3.X.X
The listing also says version 3.X.X supports One UI 4.0 and later devices. This is tied to that Good Lock version family. It should not be read as a perpetual guarantee for every future release or as evidence that every One UI 4.0 device is accepted. Samsung’s separate device and region cautions still apply.
Version numbers change
The Galaxy Store listing observed for this article showed Good Lock version 3.0.16.6, dated July 14, 2026. Store listings can be updated, and a later version may alter requirements or supported devices. Treat the version and date as a snapshot of that listing, not as a permanent promise.

The model is outside Samsung’s supported set
Samsung explicitly says Good Lock is not supported on all models. This can happen even when the phone carries Galaxy branding and otherwise runs a modern Android release. The absence of a listing may therefore be a model limitation rather than a problem with your account or store app.
The software is below the stated baseline
If the phone is running an Android release older than 8.0, it is below the baseline named in the Galaxy Store description. A device below One UI 4.0 also does not meet the One UI level stated for Good Lock 3.X.X. These facts explain why an older phone might not qualify, but they do not establish that updating will make every model compatible.
The Galaxy Store region differs
Samsung says availability varies by region, and its Ukraine support guidance specifically says plug-in availability depends on model and region. Store accounts and device locations can therefore affect what is listed. A result seen on another person’s phone, or in another country, is not a reliable answer for yours.

What to do when Good Lock is unavailable
Use a decision process that separates a clear software mismatch from an unresolved store or model limitation.
- Confirm the exact device. Record the model identity shown by the phone, not just a broad label such as “Galaxy.” Samsung’s compatibility warning applies at the model level.
- Check the installed Android and One UI releases. If either is below the levels named by Samsung, the phone does not meet the stated software baseline for the current listing.
- Open Galaxy Store on that same phone and search again. Samsung’s support instructions make this the practical test. A listing that appears there is more relevant than a general compatibility claim.
- Consider regional context. If you recently changed countries, use a different regional account or are comparing with a phone bought elsewhere, regional availability may explain the difference. Samsung does not publish a complete country table, so the store result is still the usable evidence.
- Separate the app from modules. If Good Lock installs but a desired plug-in does not appear, treat that as a module-availability question rather than proof that the entire app is unsupported.
- Do not assume an update will fix it. Software updates can move a phone toward the stated baseline, but Samsung’s device exceptions remain. An update is not a guarantee of Good Lock access.
If the app remains absent after these checks, Samsung’s published information does not provide enough detail to name the precise cause. The responsible conclusion is that Good Lock is not currently offered for that phone’s present device, software and region combination, rather than that the phone is defective.

Samsung’s wording focuses on variation, so availability should be treated as a current store state rather than a lifetime property of the hardware. A phone’s software can change, Good Lock can move to a new version family, and regional catalog rules can differ. The listing’s July 14, 2026 version date is useful for identifying what was shown at that time, but it cannot establish what a later store update will do.

Samsung says features and settings can vary by software version and phone model. Installing the app therefore does not mean every feature documented for another Galaxy phone will appear on yours.

| Good Lock appears in Galaxy Store on the phone | Samsung’s recommended device-specific check indicates the app is offered in that store context. | That every plug-in or setting will be available. |
| No Good Lock result, Android below 8.0 | The phone is below the Android baseline named in the listing. | Whether an update would make the model eligible. |
| No Good Lock result, Android 8.0 or newer | The device, software or region may still fall within Samsung’s stated exceptions. | The exact cause; Samsung provides no complete matrix. |
| Good Lock installs, but a module is missing | Module availability can differ by model, software version and region. | That the whole Good Lock app is unsupported. |
| A different Galaxy phone has Good Lock | Good Lock works in that phone’s particular model, software and regional context. | That your phone has the same entitlement. |
Common assumptions that lead to wrong answers
“Every Samsung phone can install Samsung apps.”
Samsung’s own Good Lock listing rejects this assumption by warning that some devices may not be supported. App availability is not automatically inherited from the Galaxy name.
“Android 8.0 means guaranteed support.”
Android 8.0 or higher is the stated baseline, while model and regional exceptions remain. The number is a necessary reference point for older software, not a universal pass.
“If the app is listed online, it must be available here.”
Samsung says region affects availability. A web page or another user’s store does not reproduce the exact catalog context of your phone.

“Installing Good Lock unlocks every customization.”
Good Lock’s plug-ins and settings can vary by model and software version. App installation and feature access are related but separate questions.
Bottom line for Galaxy owners
Good Lock is not available on every Galaxy phone. Samsung names Android 8.0 or newer as the app listing baseline and One UI 4.0 or later for Good Lock 3.X.X, yet it also warns that some devices may be unsupported. Device model, software version and Galaxy Store region can each change the result, and plug-ins may have narrower availability than the main app. To answer “Can my Galaxy phone use Good Lock?” open Galaxy Store on that phone, search for Good Lock and follow the listing shown there.
