How the reported Lock Screen toggle works
According to MacRumors’ October 5, 2026 report, code explorer pdfu spotted a new button above the Lock Screen’s bottom controls. When a Focus mode is active, tapping the button reportedly turns that mode off; tapping it again turns the active mode back on, without leaving the Lock Screen.

The reported control is conditional: it appears when a Focus is already active. The report does not say it can be used to choose or activate a Focus when none is running, and it does not identify which Focus modes support the control.
Where to see which Focus is active
The same report says the active Focus will appear in the status bar above the clock after the iPhone Duo is unlocked. That indicator is separate from the Lock Screen toggle: one is described as a way to see the active mode, while the other is a reported control for switching it off and back on.

What is confirmed—and what remains uncertain
This is a report about a code discovery, not an Apple-confirmed product specification. MacRumors attributes the detail to code explorer pdfu; the available report does not establish that the feature is final, how it will behave in the shipping software, or whether it will come to other iPhones.
MacRumors places the change in the context of iOS 27 adapting its interface for the iPhone Duo’s two-display foldable design. Its iPhone Duo roundup also describes other interface adjustments, but does not independently confirm this specific Focus control.

At the time of MacRumors’ October 5, 2026 article, it reported that pre-orders would open October 16, 2026, at 5 a.m. Pacific Time, with availability beginning October 23, 2026. Those dates were reported as future schedule information and are not confirmation of the device’s current availability.
