iPhone 18 Pro Max vs Motorola Signature specs comparison
These are premium large-screen phones, but their specifications do not establish an overall winner. The comparison is also a choice between Android 16 on the Signature and iOS 27 on the iPhone. The table uses manufacturer specifications; neither set of claims is the result of a common independent test.

The Signature has the higher stated maximum refresh rate: up to 165Hz versus the iPhone’s adaptive rate of up to 120Hz. A higher maximum can matter for supported games and motion, but refresh rate alone does not establish overall display quality. The iPhone’s listed screen is slightly larger at 6.9 inches, compared with 6.8 inches for Motorola.

How do the camera systems compare?
The Signature’s listed rear-camera arrangement gives it three 50MP sensors, including a periscope telephoto camera with 3× optical zoom. Apple emphasizes a 48MP variable-aperture main camera and controls for aperture, shutter speed, and white balance. Those are different approaches: consider whether you value a dedicated telephoto lens or the stated camera controls and compare sample photos from the types of scenes you shoot. Megapixel counts and feature lists alone cannot identify the better camera.
Battery life and charging: why the numbers are not directly comparable
Motorola lists battery capacity, charging rates, and up to 28 hours of continuous video playback. Apple claims up to 45 hours of video playback for eSIM-only iPhone 18 Pro Max models. These figures come from different manufacturers and do not represent a shared test protocol, so they cannot show which phone lasts longer in matched everyday use.

Motorola specifies up to 90W wired and 50W wireless charging, while Apple describes faster wired charging. For a practical comparison, look for independent tests that use the same conditions for both phones and distinguish wired from wireless charging.
Price difference and availability
Apple announced the iPhone 18 Pro Max on September 9, 2026. Apple’s published U.S. starting price is $1,299, with storage options of 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB. Preorders began September 12, and availability began September 18. Carrier offers and trade-in credits mentioned by Apple depend on eligibility and can change.

Motorola’s official Signature specification page does not establish a retail price. That means an accurate iPhone 18 Pro Max vs Motorola Signature price difference is not available from these sources. Compare current prices in the same country, match storage as closely as possible, and use the same sales channel—such as unlocked retail or carrier financing—before calculating a difference. Include tax and any offer conditions consistently.
Size, weight, and durability
On the cited U.S. specification page, Motorola lists the Signature at 186g, compared with Apple’s 249g for the iPhone 18 Pro Max. The Signature is also listed as thinner. Those figures may help if carrying weight matters, but check the Motorola model sold in your market.

The protection labels should not be treated as interchangeable guarantees. Motorola lists IP69/IP68 and MIL-STD 810H; Apple specifies IP68 and gives a test condition of up to 6 meters for up to 30 minutes under IEC 60529. The ratings and conditions differ, and neither removes the need to protect a phone from damage.

- Choose based on ecosystem first: the Signature runs Android 16, while the iPhone runs iOS 27. Your existing devices, apps, and services may matter more than a single specification.
- Consider the Signature if: you want the higher listed refresh rate, a dedicated 3× optical telephoto camera, or its specified wired and wireless charging rates.
- Consider the iPhone if: you prefer iOS, want Apple’s stated camera controls, or value its listed storage choices up to 2TB.
- For battery or camera winners: seek independent comparisons using the same tests. The manufacturers’ separate claims do not settle those questions.
- For value: compare current local prices for equivalent storage and sales terms; the official Motorola page cited here does not provide a price.
Apple also says A20 Pro and a redesigned vapor chamber deliver up to a 40 percent sustained-performance gain over iPhone 17 Pro. That is Apple’s generational comparison, not a measured result against the Motorola Signature.
