Which screen suits you better?
The OnePlus 13s has the larger listed screen: 6.32 inches versus 6.1 inches on the iPhone 16. Comparison listings report 120Hz for the OnePlus, while Apple specifies the iPhone’s OLED technology, resolution, and pixel density. A higher refresh rate can make supported motion look smoother, but those published figures alone do not establish which screen is brighter or looks better in everyday use.
Performance: A18 or Snapdragon 8 Elite?
The iPhone 16 uses Apple’s A18; the OnePlus 13s uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite. These are different chip platforms, and their names or core counts do not tell you which will feel faster in your apps, games, or sustained workloads. OnePlus publishes performance-uplift percentages on its product page; those figures are the manufacturer’s claims, not independent benchmark results. No comparable test data here establishes a universal speed winner.

Camera differences and what the specs cannot tell you
Apple lists a 48MP Fusion main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide, and a 12MP front camera. Its main camera also enables a 2x optical-quality telephoto option. Comparison pages list two 50MP rear cameras and a 32MP front camera for the OnePlus 13s. Apple specifies 4K Dolby Vision video capture.

Megapixel counts do not establish which phone takes better photos. If camera quality is your deciding factor, look for independent comparisons using the same scenes and test procedures, including daylight, low light, portraits, zoom, and video. The specifications alone do not support a general camera-quality verdict.

Battery capacity, runtime, and charging are different measures
OnePlus states a 5850 mAh battery and 80W SUPERVOOC charging. Apple instead rates the iPhone 16 for up to 22 hours of video playback and says it can reach up to 50% charge in 30 minutes with a suitable adapter. Those numbers measure different things: battery capacity cannot be directly compared with Apple’s playback-time rating, and neither establishes which phone lasts longer in comparable everyday use.
Apple’s stated fast-charge condition is a 20W-or-higher adapter, sold separately, or a 30W-or-higher adapter paired with MagSafe. For a runtime decision, use independent tests that follow the same procedure for both phones rather than inferring endurance from capacity or charging wattage.

Build, water resistance, and wireless charging
Apple lists the iPhone 16 at 170g and specifies IP68 protection under IEC 60529, up to 6 metres for up to 30 minutes. The OnePlus 13s is listed at 185g, and OnePlus describes it as compact. The inspected OnePlus product page did not confirm a comparable water-resistance rating or wireless-charging specification; that is not proof that the phone lacks either feature.
Recommended Free Tools
Apple lists MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging up to 25W. If a particular charging or protection feature is essential to your purchase, confirm it for the exact model and region before ordering.
Best Value
- The large 6.9-inch display combines ProMotion 120Hz technology with advanced color calibration, giving movies, games, and productivity apps a spacious, crisp, and fluid visual experience that’s ideal for multitasking or immersive media consumption.
Which phone should you buy?
Choose the iPhone 16 if
- You want iOS or rely on Apple services and devices.
- You value Apple’s listed IP68 rating, MagSafe/Qi2 charging, or 4K Dolby Vision capture.
- A lower listed weight matters: Apple specifies 170g for the iPhone 16.
Choose the OnePlus 13s if
- You prefer Android and want its larger 6.32-inch screen, with 120Hz reported in comparison listings.
- You prioritize the manufacturer-stated 5850 mAh capacity and 80W wired charging.
- The current price and the exact memory configuration make sense for your budget.
If neither operating system is a priority, compare the phones at the exact prices and storage tiers available to you. For camera quality or battery endurance, rely on consistent independent testing rather than specification-sheet numbers.
