The Galaxy S26 FE gives you a larger 6.7-inch screen with a refresh rate up to 120 Hz; the iPhone 16 is smaller and lighter at 6.1 inches and 170 g. Their camera layouts and chip platforms differ, but the published specifications alone do not establish which takes better photos or runs faster. The often-cited US$100 price gap compares launch prices from different years—not current deals.

Which phone has the better screen and size?
Galaxy S26 FE: more room and smoother scrolling
Its 6.7-inch display is 0.6 inches larger diagonally than the iPhone 16’s, and Samsung lists a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. That makes the FE the more appealing option on paper for a large viewing area and smoother-feeling scrolling or supported animations. Its listed resolution is 1080 × 2340 pixels.

iPhone 16: smaller and lighter
Apple lists a 6.1-inch OLED display with 2556 × 1179 pixels and 460 ppi. At 170 g, the iPhone 16 is 23 g lighter than the 193 g Galaxy S26 FE. If a phone that is easier to carry and handle matters more than screen size, the published dimensions favor the iPhone.

How do the cameras differ?
The iPhone 16 has a 48 MP main camera and a 12 MP ultra-wide camera; Apple also describes a 12 MP 2x telephoto option enabled by the main camera. Samsung lists three rear cameras—50 MP, 12 MP and 8 MP—and 3x optical zoom. Both manufacturers list a 12 MP front camera in the cited specifications.
These are different hardware arrangements, not a verdict on photo quality. Megapixel counts and zoom labels do not show how well either phone handles low light, motion, portraits or video. A fair quality judgment needs comparable independent tests; the published specifications do not establish a winner.

Are the processors comparable?
Apple lists its A18 chip, while Samsung’s UK specification page lists Exynos 2500. Because these are different platforms and the cited specifications provide no comparable benchmark results, the chip names alone do not show which phone is faster. Choose based on your preferred operating system and ecosystem rather than assuming a performance ranking from these listings.

That is not a current-price comparison: the phones launched in different years, and discounts, storage, carrier terms and availability can change what you pay. For another market, Cinco Días reported Spain launch prices of €799 for 128 GB and €899 for 256 GB, with availability from September 4, 2026; those are Spain-specific figures, not universal pricing. See its report on the Galaxy S26 FE’s Spanish launch pricing.
To compare what you can buy now, check new, unlocked base-storage models from reputable sellers in the same country on the same day. Keep trade-in credits and carrier activation offers separate from the no-condition price: for example, Apple’s US store page distinguishes carrier pricing from connecting to a carrier later and presents trade-in choices.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose the Galaxy S26 FE if you prefer a larger display, a refresh rate up to 120 Hz, and the listed 3x optical zoom—and its current local price and storage suit your budget.
- Choose the iPhone 16 if you want the smaller, lighter phone, prefer Apple’s iOS ecosystem, or value its listed ultra-wide camera configuration.
- Compare before buying if performance, camera quality or battery life is decisive. These specifications do not settle those questions; look for independent tests of the exact regional models and compare current prices at matching storage.
