Choose the iPhone 16 Plus if you want a larger 6.7-inch screen and do not need those Pro-specific features. Apple rates both for up to 27 hours of video playback; that is a manufacturer rating, not a promise of identical battery life in everyday use.

Which display is better for you?
Choose the Pro for smoother scrolling and a smaller phone
The Pro’s 6.3-inch OLED display adds ProMotion adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz and an Always-On display. Those features suit people who value smoother scrolling and animations, or want glanceable information without waking the screen. Its smaller dimensions also make it the more compact choice.
Choose the Plus for a larger viewing area
The Plus has a 6.7-inch OLED display, making it the better match for a bigger canvas for video, reading, games, and on-screen content. Apple lists the same 460 pixels per inch for both models, though their native resolutions differ because their display sizes differ.
#1 Best Overall
- Titanium frame combines strength and lightness, giving the iPhone 16 Pro a premium feel while reducing weight for prolonged daily use. The polished edges and textured back enhance grip and handling, making it easier to use during long calls, gaming sessions, or when capturing photos and videos on the move.
How much better are the Pro cameras?
The Pro adds a dedicated 5x telephoto
The Pro’s three-camera system includes a 12MP 5x Telephoto in addition to its 48MP Fusion and 48MP Ultra Wide cameras. That dedicated lens is the clearest hardware advantage when photographing distant subjects. Apple also lists ProRAW and 48MP macro photography for the Pro.
The Plus covers everyday wide and ultra-wide shots
The Plus has a dual-camera system: a 48MP Fusion Main camera and a 12MP Ultra Wide. Apple describes 2x optical zoom in and 2x out, with a 4x optical zoom range; its 2x framing comes from the main camera rather than a separate telephoto lens. If you mainly take standard photos and do not need a dedicated 5x camera, the Plus covers the simpler setup.

The polished edges and textured back enhance grip and handling, making it easier to use during long calls, gaming sessions, or when capturing photos and videos on the move.
Do the chips make the Pro faster?
Apple specifies an A18 Pro with a six-core GPU in the Pro and an A18 with a five-core GPU in the Plus. Both have six-core CPUs and 16-core Neural Engines. These component specifications establish a hardware difference, but they do not by themselves quantify everyday speed, gaming frame rates, or app performance. No independent benchmark figures are established here.
Is battery life different?
Apple’s specifications rate each model for up to 27 hours of video playback. “Up to” is the key qualification: it is a manufacturer maximum, not a guarantee that every owner will get the same runtime. This published figure does not establish a winner for mixed everyday use.

The polished edges and textured back enhance grip and handling, making it easier to use during long calls, gaming sessions, or when capturing photos and videos on the move.
Which one is easier to carry?
Both weigh 7.03 ounces (199 grams), but the Pro is shorter and narrower. The Plus is taller and wider to make room for its larger screen. Apple lists titanium for the Pro and aluminum for the Plus; the Pro’s narrower body is the more compact option, while the Plus prioritizes display size without weighing more according to Apple’s specifications.
Apple rates both phones IP68 under IEC 60529, with a maximum depth and duration of up to 6 meters for 30 minutes. This is a laboratory rating, not a recommendation to deliberately submerge a phone.

What is the iPhone 16 Pro vs Plus price difference?
There is no reliable single current price gap without specifying a market and matching the offers. Apple’s iPhone comparison page lists these models as available through authorized resellers, but the captured page does not provide stable numerical prices. Actual offers can vary by country, storage capacity, seller, network lock, and whether the phone is new or refurbished.
