Which display is better for you?
Both phones have a 6.7-inch display with refresh rates up to 120 Hz, but their panels are not identical. Apple lists a 2796 × 1290 OLED at 460 ppi, while Samsung lists a 1080 × 2340 FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. The iPhone also includes Always-On display and Dynamic Island. Samsung’s cited specification lists selectable 60 Hz and 120 Hz refresh rates.
#1 Best Overall
- 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR display featuring Always-On and ProMotion.
The specifications establish resolution and features, not a complete viewing-quality verdict. They do not provide comparable brightness measurements here, so brightness should not be ranked from this data alone.
Camera hardware and zoom differ
The iPhone has four rear-camera modules, including separate 2x and 3x telephoto options; Apple describes its system as offering 3x optical zoom in and 2x optical zoom out. The Galaxy FE has three rear cameras, with a 3x optical telephoto and digital zoom up to 30x.
Rank #2
- 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR display featuring Always-On & ProMotion.
Samsung lists a slightly higher main-camera resolution, 50 MP versus Apple’s 48 MP. That number alone does not establish which phone takes better photos or video: image quality depends on more than megapixels, and the specifications cited here are not independent camera tests.

Weight, size and durability
Samsung’s UK listing gives the Galaxy S26 FE a weight of 193 g, compared with 240 g for Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro Max specifications—a 47 g difference. Their listed dimensions are close, though the Samsung is slightly taller and thinner. The iPhone’s listed IP68 rating specifies a maximum depth of 6 m for up to 30 minutes under IEC 60529. Samsung materials also describe the FE as IP68, but confirm the local product specification before relying on a market-specific detail.
Rank #3
- 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR display featuring Always-On & ProMotion.
Battery claims are not a real-world head-to-head
Both companies state up to 29 hours of video playback. Apple says its iPhone estimate came from testing preproduction devices and software in August 2022; Samsung lists up to 29 hours for the Galaxy S26 FE and gives a typical battery capacity of 4,900 mAh. These are manufacturer figures, not evidence that the phones last equally long under everyday use. No comparable independent battery test is established here.
Galaxy S26 FE and iPhone 14 Pro Max prices
TechRadar reported the following Galaxy S26 FE launch prices in 2026. Its review said first sale began September 4, 2026; the figures are reported launch prices, not verified current offers.
Rank #4
- 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR display featuring Always-On & ProMotion.
| Market | 128 GB launch price | 256 GB launch price |
|---|---|---|
| United States | US$699 | US$799 |
| United Kingdom | £699 | £799 |
| Australia | A$1,149 | A$1,299 |
TechRadar’s 2026 review is the source for these reported launch prices. A comparable current iPhone 14 Pro Max price was not established, so there is no defensible current price gap to calculate from these figures. The iPhone is an older model, and listings may be for used, refurbished or remaining new stock.
To make a useful local comparison, match the storage capacity, device condition, unlocked or carrier status, seller and sales channel, and compare the prices available to you now. A launch price for one phone should not be subtracted from an unmatched used-device price for the other.

- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
Which phone makes more sense?
- Choose around your ecosystem: the iPhone is an iOS model and the Galaxy S26 FE is an Android model. Your existing devices, apps and services may matter more than a single specification.
- Weigh the display trade-off: both reach 120 Hz, while Apple lists the higher resolution and includes Always-On and Dynamic Island.
- Consider the camera layout, not just megapixels: Apple specifies separate 2x and 3x telephoto options; Samsung specifies a 3x optical telephoto. These hardware details do not settle which produces better images.
- Factor in handling: Samsung’s cited UK listing is 47 g lighter, while the two phones have similar overall dimensions.
- Compare actual local offers: the reported FE launch prices do not establish today’s price difference against the iPhone.
The specifications identify meaningful differences, but they do not establish an overall performance winner. The processor names are not a substitute for a suitable independent test, and no software-support end date or matched current pricing is established here.
