What is the real price difference?
A 91mobiles price-tracker snapshot showed ₹22,949 for the realme GT 6T and ₹49,900 for the iPhone 12, but both listings were marked out of stock. Those figures are not a current, like-for-like price comparison and do not establish the models’ present purchase prices. The snapshot is available at 91mobiles.

Before deciding, compare in-stock listings for the same country and note the storage, new or used/refurbished condition, seller, warranty and any bank or exchange offer. This matters especially for the iPhone 12 because its age means many listings may be pre-owned; check battery health, device condition and return terms. An old tracker price should not be treated as a market value.

Which screen and size will suit you?
The GT 6T has a 6.78-inch LTPO display with a refresh rate up to 120Hz, while the iPhone 12’s 6.1-inch OLED screen is in a noticeably smaller and lighter body. Choose the realme if you want more screen space for video, games or scrolling. Choose the iPhone if a phone that is easier to carry and handle is more important.
Brightness figures are not directly comparable because the manufacturers report them under different conditions. realme lists typical brightness of 1000 nits, HBM of 1600 nits and a local peak of 6000 nits; Apple lists 625 nits typical maximum and 1200 nits HDR peak for the iPhone 12. These specifications alone do not establish which screen is easier to see in every situation.

Battery capacity, charging and everyday use
realme lists a 5500mAh typical battery for the GT 6T, with 5360mAh rated capacity in the India-page footnote, and 120W SUPERVOOC charging. Its India product page advertises 50% charge in 10 minutes under its stated test conditions; that is a manufacturer claim, not a guarantee of the time you will see in daily use. The iPhone 12 has no directly comparable capacity figure here: Apple rates it for up to 17 hours of video playback and supports MagSafe wireless charging up to 15W and Qi up to 7.5W. Apple’s fast-charge claim is up to 50% in 30 minutes using a 20W-or-higher adapter, sold separately.
Capacity and a manufacturer’s video-playback rating use different measures, so they do not establish which phone lasts longer in your routine. If you prioritize fast wired charging, the GT 6T’s published charging specification is the more relevant distinction. If you already use MagSafe or Qi accessories, the iPhone 12 can fit that setup. Apple says the iPhone 12 does not include a power adapter or EarPods.

Camera specifications: what they do and do not tell you
The GT 6T has a 50MP main rear camera with optical image stabilization and an 8MP ultrawide. The iPhone 12 uses two 12MP rear cameras, one wide and one ultrawide. On the front, the figures are 32MP for realme and 12MP TrueDepth for Apple. The GT 6T lists 4K recording at 60 or 30fps on the rear camera and up to 4K at 30fps on the front; Apple lists Dolby Vision HDR recording up to 4K at 30fps for the iPhone 12.
Megapixel counts do not establish photo quality, and the specifications do not provide a controlled head-to-head camera test. Choose based on the camera features and video formats you need rather than assuming the higher-resolution sensor makes better photos.

Performance, software and device age
The GT 6T uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, while the iPhone 12 uses Apple’s A14 Bionic. Chip names, clock speeds and core counts are not a substitute for comparable real-world benchmarks, so these specifications alone cannot settle which is faster for your apps or games.

The comparison source lists Android 14 with realme UI 5 for the GT 6T; the iPhone runs iOS. Current software versions and each model’s remaining update period are not established by these specifications, so do not assume one will receive updates longer. For a pre-owned iPhone, inspect its condition and battery health before purchase.

Build, water resistance and connectors
The iPhone 12 is rated IP68, with Apple specifying laboratory testing to a depth of 6m for up to 30 minutes under IEC 60529. The GT 6T is listed as IP65. These ratings are not interchangeable; Apple also warns that water resistance is not permanent and can decrease with wear. Neither rating should be read as permission to expose a phone to water without regard to its condition.
The GT 6T uses USB Type-C, while the iPhone 12 uses Lightning and supports MagSafe and Qi wireless charging. Adapter inclusion can vary by region and retail package: realme Singapore lists an 11V/11A adapter in the box, but that does not establish what an India package includes. Check the exact local listing before relying on included accessories.
