iOS 27.2 May Let You Hide Specific Suggested Actions in Messages

Apple may add controls in iOS 27.2 that let you turn off selected Suggested Actions in Messages rather than hide them all. A report based on beta 3 code describes switches for Calendar, Reminders, Notes, Maps, and Flights and Packages, plus an option to hide suggestions that go unused for 30 days. These are reported beta features—not settings Apple has confirmed for the public release.

What are Suggested Actions in Messages?

Suggested Actions are contextual shortcuts that can appear around message content. Apple describes Messages and Mail as offering suggestions for quick actions based on a conversation; its examples include adding a calendar event or searching for a photo with a tap. Apple’s iOS 27 page describes the feature at a high level, but does not document the beta-specific controls.

Which controls are reported in the iOS 27.2 beta?

A MacRumors report dated October 6, 2026, citing beta code and a screenshot credited to code explorer pdfu, describes individual switches for these categories:

  • Add to Calendar
  • Add to Reminders
  • Add to Notes
  • Show in Maps
  • Flights and Packages

The report also describes a separate Hide Unused Suggestions option. When enabled, suggestions that have not been used would stop appearing after 30 days. According to the report, a hidden category can be restored by turning its individual switch off and then back on. These details come from the beta report, not a published Apple guide; see MacRumors’ October 6 report.

#1 Best Overall
Apple iPhone 14, 128GB, Midnight - Unlocked (Renewed)
  • This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
  • Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
  • The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charging cable.
  • Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.

Can you turn off a category now?

The report describes proposed controls, but does not establish a confirmed Settings path for the public iOS 27.2 release. Apple has not confirmed these beta-specific controls in the official material reviewed here. If you are using a beta, check the Messages-related settings on your own device; do not rely on the reported labels or behavior as instructions for a final release, since Apple could change or remove them.

What is still uncertain?

  • Whether the switches and 30-day hiding option will remain in the final iOS 27.2 release.
  • Whether the labels or behavior will change in later betas.
  • Whether photo-related suggestions, among other types, will receive their own switches.

Apple’s developer documentation describes a Suggested Actions framework for messaging apps and says content an app provides for analysis is processed on-device and is not sent to Apple servers. That statement concerns the developer framework; it does not confirm how the reported consumer controls in Messages work. The documentation is marked beta and preliminary, and may change. Apple’s Suggested Actions developer documentation is therefore useful context, not verification of the beta 3 settings.
