Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Intel has not officially announced a “Core 2000HX” processor. Reports describe a possible laptop-focused “Raptor Lake Next” family that could use Core 200 branding and include HX chips, but Intel’s published materials reviewed here do not confirm its name, specifications, launch date, or laptop availability. It is also a different matter from Intel’s officially announced Core Ultra 200HX Plus processors.
What is Intel Core 2000HX?
“Core 2000HX” is not a confirmed Intel product name in the company’s published materials reviewed here. VideoCardz, attributing its report to leaker Jaykihn, says a “Raptor Lake Next” family is planned for HX laptops. Tom’s Hardware separately reports that the possible line may retain Core 200 branding and include mobile HX products. Those are leak-based reports, not Intel announcements.

The naming matters: the reports do not establish that Intel will call any processor “Core 2000HX,” or that “Raptor Lake Next” is Intel’s official codename. Intel has not confirmed final branding, model numbers, core counts, clocks, power, graphics, pricing, release timing, or partner laptop models. VideoCardz’s report and Tom’s Hardware’s report should therefore be read as indications of a possible product, not a specification sheet or availability notice.
Is Core 2000HX the same as Core Ultra 200HX Plus?
No. Intel announced the Core Ultra 200HX Plus family on March 17, 2026, naming the Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus and Core Ultra 7 270HX Plus. Intel’s product documentation also lists the Core Ultra 200HX series separately. That official Core Ultra branding should not be conflated with reports of a non-Ultra Core 200 refresh. What does Intel’s Raptor Lake HX history confirm?
Intel did bring Raptor Lake processors to HX laptops before. In its January 8, 2024 CES announcement, Intel called its 14th Gen mobile family “Raptor Lake Refresh” and described the Raptor as back. Intel listed the Core i9-14900HX with 24 cores, 32 threads, and up to 5.8 GHz turbo; these figures apply to that launched processor, not to a possible future refresh. Intel said at the time that more than 60 partner systems powered by 14th Gen HX processors were coming to market in 2024. That was an announcement-time statement about the 14th Gen family, not a promise about the reported line. Intel’s CES 2024 announcement contains the historical details.
Intel ARK likewise identifies the Core i9-14900HX as a mobile processor in the 14th Gen Core i9 family, with the former code name Raptor Lake, 36 MB cache, and up to 5.80 GHz. It is a real, documented comparison point—not the rumored part. Intel ARK’s 14900HX record identifies its product details.

Intel ARK lists the Core i5-13500HX as a launched 13th Gen mobile processor formerly codenamed Raptor Lake, with a Q1 2023 launch date. Its published configuration is 14 cores (6 P-cores and 8 E-cores), 20 threads, up to 4.70 GHz turbo, 24 MB Intel Smart Cache, 55 W processor base power, and 157 W maximum turbo power. Those are specifications for the i5-13500HX alone. Intel ARK’s i5-13500HX record provides the product listing.

No final specifications for a Core 200 or Raptor Lake Next HX processor are confirmed by the Intel sources above. There is no confirmed basis here for assigning the future family a core count, boost clock, cache, power limit, integrated graphics configuration, memory support, or laptop launch date.

For context only, Intel’s 14th Gen HX product brief lists support for DDR5 up to 5600 MT/s and DDR4 up to 3200 MT/s. These are capabilities of the documented 14th Gen HX platform; they should not be carried over to an unconfirmed future product. Intel’s 14th Gen HX brief gives those memory figures.

For now, treat the story as an indication that Intel may revisit Raptor Lake-derived silicon for HX laptops, not as a buying recommendation or a reason to delay a purchase. No independent performance or battery-life tests of the reported processors are established here, and there are no confirmed OEM laptop configurations to compare. The real-world result would depend on the finished laptop—including its cooling and power settings—as well as pricing and regional availability.
