Short answer: Intel Arc Pro B70 is the capacity-first choice for local AI models that exceed 24GB, because it has 32GB of dedicated VRAM. Nvidia RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell is the lower-risk professional default when your work depends on CUDA, certified CAD applications, or Nvidia’s mature encoding and decoding stack. For CAD, there is no authoritative head-to-head B70-versus-RTX PRO benchmark, so the right choice depends on the exact application, version, driver and certification requirements.

Which GPU is better for local AI?
Choose Arc Pro B70 when memory capacity is the limiting factor
The B70’s 32GB VRAM gives it 8GB more capacity than the RTX PRO 4000’s 24GB. That difference can determine whether a model loads entirely on the GPU or must be split between GPU and system memory. Larger parameter counts, longer context windows, higher image resolutions and running more than one model at once all increase memory demand.

- Consider it a capacity advantage, not a guarantee of higher tokens-per-second.
Intel lists 608GB/s of memory bandwidth, 256 XMX engines and 367 Int8 dense AI TOPS. Its workstation positioning includes oneAPI and OpenVINO, with Linux driver support intended for scalable AI deployment. Framework support still depends on the specific project and backend; confirm that your inference framework has a working Intel path before buying.
Choose RTX PRO 4000 when CUDA compatibility matters more than capacity
Nvidia’s RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell combines 24GB ECC GDDR7 with 8,960 CUDA cores, fifth-generation Tensor Cores and compute capability 12.0. Many AI libraries, extensions and optimized kernels are developed and tested first for CUDA. If your workflow uses CUDA-only packages, custom kernels or a deployment stack validated on Nvidia, avoiding a port can be worth more than 8GB of extra VRAM.
The RTX PRO 4000’s published 1,290 AI TOPS is higher than Intel’s 367 Int8 TOPS number, but those values use different measurement conventions. Do not infer a universal speed ratio from the headline figures. Check your model, precision (FP16, BF16, INT8 or other), quantization method and framework version.

- Measure the model’s GPU memory requirement, including weights, tokenizer, context cache, batch size and any vision encoder.
- Set a practical headroom target for the operating system, display and concurrent applications.
- If the requirement is above 24GB but within 32GB, the B70 is the only one of these two that meets the capacity requirement without offloading.
- If the model fits comfortably in 24GB, compare the exact framework backend and kernel support. CUDA availability may favor RTX PRO 4000.
- Benchmark a representative prompt or batch on the intended software stack before purchasing multiple workstations.
A third-party report cited in the source material measured higher local-LLM token throughput on a B70 than on an RTX 5060 Ti in one test setup. That is not an RTX PRO 4000 comparison and should not be generalized to other models or software.
Is Arc Pro B70 better than RTX PRO for CAD?
There is no authoritative controlled B70-versus-RTX PRO result for AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, Civil 3D or comparable CAD applications in the available documentation. Consequently, a universal “best CAD GPU” claim would be misleading. CAD performance depends on the application’s graphics API, model and assembly size, viewport effects, driver behavior, plug-ins and certified hardware list.

Why certification and drivers matter
Nvidia states that RTX PRO products have extensive independent software vendor (ISV) certifications. Certification can cover a particular application and version, not every release or plug-in. Check the exact CAD product, version, operating system and driver combination in the ISV’s certification database before ordering.
Intel supports DirectX 12 Ultimate, OpenGL 4.6 and Vulkan 1.3, which cover common workstation graphics paths. That does not establish certification or stability for a particular CAD package. A B70 may be technically compatible yet still lack the validated driver profile your organization requires.

CAD purchase checklist
- Identify the primary application and version, plus secondary tools such as renderers, BIM viewers or simulation plug-ins.
- Check whether the vendor requires or recommends a certified professional GPU and driver branch.
- Ask the vendor or reseller whether the B70 is supported for your exact release.
- Test a representative project: large assemblies, dense meshes, section views, shadows, transparency and multiple displays.
- Record viewport frame time, redraw glitches, crashes and export behavior rather than relying on synthetic graphics scores.
- Confirm remote-desktop, virtual-workstation and Linux requirements if those are part of deployment.
If your organization treats ISV certification as mandatory, RTX PRO 4000 is generally the safer starting point because Nvidia documents a mature certification program. If certification is not required and your CAD software runs reliably on Intel’s driver, the B70’s extra memory may help with unusually large scenes, but that is a project-specific conclusion rather than a benchmarked advantage.
Which GPU is better for Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and video work?
Why RTX PRO 4000 is the lower-risk video choice
Nvidia documents dual ninth-generation NVENC encoders, dual sixth-generation NVDEC decoders and professional 4:2:2 video support for RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell. The company says ninth-generation NVENC accelerates encoding and improves quality for professional video applications, including 4:2:2 encoding. Those dedicated engines can support simultaneous decode, effects and export workloads in established editing and broadcast pipelines.
That documented feature set makes RTX PRO 4000 the lower-risk recommendation when you use Adobe applications, broadcast codecs, 4:2:2 source media or streaming software whose Nvidia path is already validated. Verify the exact codec, bit depth, chroma format, effects and application version: hardware support can differ between decode, encode, preview and final export.

What the B70 documentation establishes
Intel positions Arc Pro B-series for content creation and lists modern graphics and media APIs. However, the supplied specifications do not provide a controlled Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or encoder comparison against RTX PRO 4000. Do not assume that a larger VRAM pool or a higher API version automatically produces faster exports.

Software ecosystems and portability
Intel: oneAPI, OpenVINO and cross-API graphics
Arc Pro B70 supports oneAPI, OpenVINO, OpenCL 3.0, OpenGL 4.6, Vulkan 1.3 and DirectX 12 Ultimate. This mix can be useful when your software is designed for portable compute or relies on OpenVINO inference. Linux driver support is part of Intel’s workstation positioning for scalable AI deployments.
Portability does not mean every application exposes every feature. Confirm the backend, supported operating system and acceleration path for each program. A project that runs through a generic API may not match the performance or feature completeness of a CUDA-specific implementation.
Nvidia: CUDA, Tensor and professional application support
RTX PRO 4000 uses CUDA compute capability 12.0 and combines CUDA cores with Tensor and RT Cores. CUDA’s long-established library and plug-in ecosystem reduces integration risk for software that assumes Nvidia hardware. Nvidia also emphasizes professional application certification, which matters in managed CAD, visualization and post-production environments.
The trade-off is memory capacity: 24GB can be a hard ceiling for models or scenes that fit in 32GB. Offloading to system memory may work, but it usually adds complexity and can reduce responsiveness.

Physical system requirements and deployment checks
Both cards use a PCIe 5.0-class x16 interface (Intel specifies PCIe Gen 5 x16). Interface compatibility alone does not guarantee a practical installation. Before purchase, verify the workstation’s slot spacing, power connectors, power-supply capacity, airflow and operating-system support.
- Slot clearance: professional cards can occupy more than one slot; check adjacent expansion cards and cable access.
- Cooling: sustained AI, rendering or encoding loads require unobstructed intake and exhaust.
- Power: use the manufacturer’s current board-power and connector requirements for the exact card revision.
- Displays: RTX PRO 4000 documentation lists four DisplayPort 2.1b outputs; confirm adapter and monitor requirements.
- Fleet management: standardize driver versions and test updates before broad deployment.
Prices, stock, board dimensions and driver versions change frequently. Obtain those values from the manufacturer or authorized seller at purchase time rather than relying on an old listing.

How to test before committing to a workstation fleet
- Freeze the software stack: record application versions, plug-ins, operating system and GPU driver.
- Use real files: select a representative CAD assembly, AI model and video timeline, not only synthetic tests.
- Measure the bottleneck: log VRAM use, system-memory spillover, viewport frame time, inference throughput, playback drops and export duration.
- Check correctness: inspect rendered images, encoded files, color handling and CAD geometry for errors.
- Test failure recovery: restart after crashes, suspend/resume, reconnect remote sessions and repeat exports.
- Document support: capture certification status, driver branch and vendor responses for the exact versions you will deploy.
Run the same procedure on both cards if you need a defensible procurement decision. A result is meaningful only when the workload, precision, settings and software versions are held constant.
Bottom line
Buy Intel Arc Pro B70 when 32GB VRAM is the deciding requirement—especially for local AI models, long contexts or large resident datasets that cannot fit in 24GB. Buy Nvidia RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell when CUDA compatibility, certified professional applications or documented NVENC/NVDEC and 4:2:2 workflows are more important than maximum capacity. For CAD without a certification requirement, neither card can be declared universally faster from the available evidence: validate your exact application, project and driver before you standardize.
