The Intel SSD 670p 2TB is a single-sided M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe drive built around QLC flash. Its rated sequential speeds—up to 3,500 MB/s read and 2,700 MB/s write—make it look capable on paper, but those peak figures do not describe how it performs during long, continuous writes. It is most compelling for capacity-focused everyday use in a compatible system; buyers who regularly write large amounts of data should weigh its sustained-write trade-off and 740 TBW endurance rating carefully.
Intel 670p 2TB specifications
The 670p is an older PCIe 3.0 drive, not a PCIe 4.0 SSD. The 2TB model uses the M.2 2280 form factor, connects over PCIe 3.0 x4 with NVMe, and uses 3D QLC NAND. Solidigm’s product brief lists 740 TBW endurance for the 2TB model; Tom’s Hardware reproduces maximum sequential ratings of 3,500 MB/s read and 2,700 MB/s write.

How it performs: burst speed versus sustained writes
Tom’s Hardware found the 670p strong in burst performance, but weaker than its comparison-set peers in sustained writes and endurance. That distinction matters more than the headline write rating for a workload that continuously copies large files, captures or edits high-bitrate video, or frequently writes large datasets. A short transfer can benefit from burst performance; a much longer one may not maintain the rated peak.
#1 Best Overall
- 2B Storage Capacity
- M2. 2280 Form Factor
- PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4 Interface
- Up to 3500 MB/s Sequential Read Speeds. Up to 2700 MB/s Sequential Write Speeds. Intel QLC 3D NAND
The available review evidence does not establish a precise post-cache write speed, so it would be misleading to promise a particular rate once the drive’s burst behavior is exhausted. Treat 2,700 MB/s as a rated maximum, not a sustained-write expectation.
Is the Intel 670p good for gaming and everyday use?
For ordinary client use—such as launching applications, loading games, and general file access—the drive’s capacity and burst performance can make it a reasonable fit, provided the host supports it. PCWorld described the 670p as an improved QLC NVMe option and noted the usefulness of the single-sided 2TB configuration for small-form-factor upgrades. That is a reviewer’s assessment, not proof that it fits every compact computer.

- M2. 2280 Form Factor
- PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4 Interface
- Up to 3000 MB/s Sequential Read Speeds. Up to 1600 MB/s Sequential Write Speeds. Intel QLC 3D NAND
For gaming, the practical question is less whether the drive reaches its peak sequential rating and more whether the capacity, host interface, and price suit your system. The sources do not establish game-specific benchmark results or compatibility with a particular console. If your use includes frequent, lengthy writes as well as gaming, give the sustained-write and endurance trade-offs more weight.
QLC flash and the 740 TBW endurance rating
QLC is part of the 670p’s capacity-versus-write-workload trade-off. The 2TB model’s rated endurance is 740 TBW, meaning the manufacturer specifies a total written-data endurance rating of 740 terabytes. It is a rating, not a prediction of the drive’s exact lifespan in a particular computer. Compare it with the endurance figures and warranty terms of alternatives if your workload writes heavily; warranty duration and current servicing terms are not established by the cited material.

- Trusted Micron Quality: Built with advanced G8 NAND and thermal control for reliable Gen4 performance trusted by gamers and home users
Compatibility: check the socket, length, and clearance
Before buying, confirm the system has an M.2 socket that supports NVMe over PCIe and accepts a 2280-length drive. M.2 describes the physical connector and form factor; an M.2 socket limited to SATA may not support this NVMe SSD. Performance also depends on the host’s PCIe capability, so a compatible connection does not mean the drive will run at its rated maximum in every system.
The 2TB model’s single-sided design may help where space is constrained, but it is not a universal fit guarantee. Check the computer or motherboard documentation for supported drive length and physical clearance. The cited sources do not verify compatibility with any specific laptop, motherboard, console, or enclosure. They also do not establish that a separate heatsink is mandatory; follow the host manufacturer’s thermal and clearance guidance.

- Host and interface: Check whether your system supports the drive’s PCIe generation and NVMe protocol.
- Long writes: Look for evidence about sustained behavior, not only burst or peak sequential speeds.
- Endurance: Compare the rated TBW alongside the warranty terms for the exact model.
- Physical fit: Confirm 2280 support and clearance for a single- or double-sided module.
- Price and seller: Compare current listings, condition, return terms, and seller reputation.
In Tom’s Hardware’s historical comparison, the ADATA XPG Gammix S50 Lite was judged a better value, with higher endurance, slightly higher sequential performance, and an included heatsink. That review-era comparison is not a current market ranking: prices and competing models change, and no current price or stock status for either drive is established here.
What to check before buying the 670p 2TB
- Verify the exact model and capacity: SSDPEKNU020TZX1, 2TB.
- Confirm that the host supports M.2 NVMe over PCIe and the 2280 length; check physical clearance in the system documentation.
- Match the drive’s PCIe 3.0 x4 interface and QLC workload trade-offs to your expected use, especially if you make repeated large writes.
- Check the listing’s new or used condition, seller reputation, return terms, current price, and applicable warranty before ordering.
Specifications and independent reviews identify the product, but do not establish today’s retailer price or availability. A buying decision therefore depends on the listing and alternatives available when you shop.
