Short answer: The Samsung Galaxy A26 5G is the safer buy today because it is a retail phone with official specifications, a 50MP optically stabilised main camera, a 5,000mAh typical battery and a published six-generation Android/One UI and six-year security-update policy. The Infinix Note 70 Pro could be more interesting for battery capacity and display hardware, but it remains an unreleased product as of 20 October 2026. Its reported 7,000mAh battery, 50MP OIS camera and other specifications have not been confirmed by Infinix.
“Galaxy A-series” is a family, not one model. This comparison uses the Galaxy A26 5G as the fully documented benchmark, then places it against Samsung’s broader A17–A57 range so you can see how the choice changes with price and camera hardware.

What is actually confirmed about the Infinix Note 70 Pro?
An October 2026 Eurasian Economic Commission filing identifies Infinix model X6766 with the marketing name Note 70 Pro. The filing concerns encryption paperwork. It does not establish a launch date, retail availability, price or hardware specification. Therefore, the Note 70 Pro should be treated as an upcoming device rather than a phone you can reliably buy today.
A separate hardware-database readout associated with X6766 has been reported with the following values: a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4-class platform, a 6.78-inch 1208×2644 display capable of up to 144Hz, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), and a 7,000mAh battery. These are reported or leaked values, not an Infinix specification sheet. The processor identification is particularly uncertain because hardware-database matching can mistake a renamed chip or a special-edition variant for another model.

That distinction matters throughout this comparison. The Note 70 Pro’s figures are useful for judging its potential, but they are not promises about the final retail phone. Until Infinix publishes specifications and independent reviewers test a production unit, claims about its camera quality, endurance, charging, performance or software support remain unverified.
Which Samsung Galaxy A-series phone is the fair comparison?
Samsung’s A-series includes several phones with different displays, cameras and prices. Samsung’s US lineup accessed in 2026 lists the Galaxy A17 5G, A27 5G, A37 5G and A57 5G. All four are listed with 5,000mAh batteries, but their camera arrays and prices differ. Comparing an unreleased Note 70 Pro with “the A-series” as if it were one handset would produce misleading conclusions.
The Galaxy A26 5G is the most useful concrete baseline because Samsung publishes a complete specification and support statement for it. It has a 50MP OIS main camera, an 8MP ultrawide, a 2MP macro camera, a 13MP front camera, a 5,000mAh typical battery and a 120Hz Super AMOLED display. Samsung also states that the A26 5G receives six generations of operating-system upgrades and six years of security updates from global launch, subject to regional timing and availability notes.

Camera: what can be compared now?
Infinix Note 70 Pro: a reported 50MP OIS main camera
The X6766 hardware report lists a 50MP primary camera with OIS. If that specification reaches retail unchanged, the sensor will have the same headline resolution and a similar stabilisation feature to the Galaxy A26 5G’s official main camera. Resolution alone does not determine image quality: sensor size, lens aperture, autofocus behaviour, image processing, HDR tuning and low-light algorithms can produce large differences between two 50MP cameras.

There is no confirmed Note 70 Pro camera sample set or controlled review available in the supplied material. It is therefore not possible to say that the Infinix takes better photos, has cleaner night images or records superior video. Treat “50MP OIS” as a hardware possibility, not as a quality verdict.
Galaxy A26 5G: documented camera hardware
Samsung specifies a 50MP OIS main camera, an 8MP ultrawide, a 2MP macro camera and a 13MP front camera for the Galaxy A26 5G. OIS can reduce blur from hand movement during still photography and help steady video, but it cannot freeze a moving subject or compensate for poor lighting by itself. The 8MP ultrawide provides a wider field of view than the main camera, while the 2MP macro unit is intended for close subjects and has lower resolution than the primary sensor.
The A26’s camera list is official, but a specification sheet still cannot establish which phone produces better photographs. A fair verdict requires matching retail units, the same scenes, comparable software versions and controlled testing across daylight, indoor, night, faces, moving subjects, ultrawide shots and video.
How the higher A-series models change the camera comparison
The Samsung A-series page lists a 50MP + 12MP + 5MP rear combination for the A57 5G, giving it a higher-resolution ultrawide than the A26’s 8MP unit and a more capable-looking rear array on paper. The A17 5G and A27 5G are listed with 50MP + 5MP + 2MP combinations. Those figures do not automatically rank photo quality, but they show why naming the exact Samsung model is essential.
| Camera question | Note 70 Pro (reported) | Galaxy A26 5G (official) | What the evidence supports |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main camera resolution | 50MP | 50MP | Equal headline resolution; image quality is untested for the Note 70 Pro. |
| Optical stabilisation | Reported OIS | OIS | Both are described with OIS, but only Samsung’s specification is confirmed. |
| Ultrawide | Not stated | 8MP | The Note 70 Pro value is unknown. |
| Macro | Not stated | 2MP | The Note 70 Pro value is unknown. |
| Front camera | Not stated | 13MP | The Note 70 Pro value is unknown. |
| Independent image testing | Not available | Retail reviews may exist, but no controlled head-to-head result is established here | No winner can be declared from the listed hardware alone. |
Battery: the Note 70 Pro could be much larger, but capacity is not runtime
Reported 7,000mAh capacity versus the A26’s 5,000mAh typical rating
The reported Note 70 Pro battery is 7,000mAh. Samsung gives the Galaxy A26 5G a 5,000mAh typical capacity. On the numbers alone, the reported Infinix pack is 2,000mAh larger, or 40% above the A26’s stated typical capacity. That is a meaningful potential advantage for long trips, heavy navigation, hotspot use and gaming sessions.

Capacity does not translate directly into hours of use. Runtime also depends on display size and refresh rate, processor efficiency, modem behaviour, signal strength, camera use, game workload, background applications and thermal management. A 144Hz panel can draw more power than a 60Hz mode, although adaptive refresh and software tuning can reduce the difference. The Note 70 Pro’s reported 6.78-inch display and up-to-144Hz mode therefore need to be evaluated together with its chipset and firmware.

Samsung labels the A26 battery as 5,000mAh typical, which is the standard capacity description used on the official specification. It is not a guarantee of a particular screen-on-time figure. Two A26 owners can see different results because of mobile reception, brightness, refresh-rate settings, app synchronisation and usage patterns.
What must be tested before calling the Note 70 Pro a battery winner
- Continuous video playback at a defined brightness and refresh-rate setting.
- Web browsing over Wi-Fi and mobile data with the same display settings.
- A mixed-use day including cameras, navigation, messaging, social apps and standby.
- Gaming endurance and sustained performance after the phone heats up.
- Idle drain overnight with comparable accounts, radios and notification settings.
- Charging time, charger compatibility and heat during charging, none of which are established for the Note 70 Pro.
Until those tests exist, the accurate conclusion is conditional: the Note 70 Pro has a potentially large capacity advantage, while the Galaxy A26 has a confirmed 5,000mAh typical battery and known retail behaviour.
Display and performance: reported advantages versus documented specifications
Note 70 Pro display and chipset reports
The hardware-database readout associated with X6766 reportedly shows a 6.78-inch display with 1208×2644 resolution and a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. It also identifies a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4-class platform, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. “Class” is important: the processor matching is not confirmed and may reflect a renamed or special-edition chip. The database values should not be used as a definitive performance ranking.
If the 144Hz figure is accurate, scrolling and supported games could look smoother than on a 120Hz panel. Higher refresh modes can consume more energy, and many apps do not render at the maximum rate. Resolution, brightness, panel technology, touch sampling and adaptive-refresh behaviour are also unknown for the reported Infinix display.

Galaxy A26 5G display and the limits of an apples-to-apples claim
Samsung officially lists a 120Hz Super AMOLED display for the Galaxy A26 5G. Super AMOLED indicates the panel family, while 120Hz describes its maximum refresh rate. The A26’s complete display specification is documented; the Note 70 Pro’s reported panel remains subject to change. Without verified brightness, colour, refresh behaviour and processor benchmarks for both retail devices, no reliable winner can be declared for screen quality or speed.

Galaxy A26 5G’s published commitment
Samsung states that the Galaxy A26 5G receives six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates from global launch, with regional timing and availability conditions. That gives buyers a defined support horizon for Android and Samsung’s One UI, rather than relying on informal expectations.
Samsung separately says the Galaxy A27 5G receives “up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades, as well as six years of security updates from the initial global launch date.” The wording confirms that this support approach extends beyond one model, although the exact delivery schedule can vary by market and carrier.
Note 70 Pro update policy is not published
No Note 70 Pro software-support policy is established in the available information. Infinix has not published a confirmed update count, security-update duration or delivery timetable for this model. That does not prove the phone will receive poor support; it means buyers cannot currently compare a documented promise with Samsung’s six-year statement.

For a phone you plan to keep through several Android releases, this evidence gap is more important than a small difference in benchmark speed. Security updates protect against newly discovered vulnerabilities, while OS upgrades affect app compatibility, features and resale value. If you buy the Note 70 Pro after launch, check the retail box, official regional product page and written support policy rather than assuming that another Infinix model’s schedule applies.

Availability, price and purchase timing
Note 70 Pro: no confirmed retail date or price
The EEC listing identifies the X6766 model and Note 70 Pro name, but it does not announce when the phone will go on sale. There is also no official price. A certification or encryption filing is not the same as a retail launch, and reported database hardware can change before production.
Do not pay a reseller a premium for an alleged Note 70 Pro specification based only on the reported listing. Before ordering, verify an official Infinix announcement, the exact regional model number, warranty coverage, network-band compatibility, storage configuration and return policy.
Galaxy A26 5G: an available reference point
The Galaxy A26 5G is the practical choice for someone who needs a phone now and wants specifications that can be checked before purchase. Samsung’s US A-series page lists starting prices from $249.99 for the A17 5G to $549.99 for the A57 5G; the amount for an A26 5G can differ by country, promotion and storage option. Use the price shown by Samsung or an authorised local retailer on the day you buy.

Which phone should you choose?
Choose the Galaxy A26 5G if certainty matters
- You need a phone available through normal retail channels now.
- You want an official 50MP OIS camera specification and a known 5,000mAh typical battery.
- You plan to keep the phone for years and value Samsung’s published six-generation OS and six-year security commitment.
- You need an ultrawide and front-camera specification you can verify before purchase.
- You prefer a documented 120Hz Super AMOLED display over an unconfirmed higher-refresh report.
Wait for the Note 70 Pro if its potential hardware fits your priorities
- A very large battery is your top requirement and you are willing to wait for independent endurance testing.
- You want to see whether the reported 6.78-inch, up-to-144Hz display and 8GB/256GB configuration reach retail unchanged.
- You accept that the launch date, price, chipset identity, camera results and update policy are currently unknown.
- You can verify official regional warranty, network compatibility and software-support terms after launch.
Consider another Galaxy A model only after naming your priorities
The A17 5G is the lowest-priced listed Samsung option at $249.99 on the accessed US page, while the A57 5G is listed at $549.99 and has the broadest rear-camera combination shown there, 50MP + 12MP + 5MP. The A27 and A37 sit between them in the lineup, but exact prices and some specifications depend on region. If you are comparing camera hardware, use the exact model’s official page rather than generalising from the A-series name.
Questions to check when the Note 70 Pro launches
- Does Infinix publish a complete specification sheet for the exact regional model X6766?
- Is the battery really 7,000mAh, and is that typical or rated capacity?
- Which Snapdragon chip is installed, and does the retail software identify it consistently?
- What are the camera sensor sizes, ultrawide and selfie specifications, video limits and OIS behaviour?
- How bright is the display, and does it support adaptive refresh below 144Hz?
- What charger is included, what charging standard is supported and how long does a full charge take?
- How many Android upgrades and security-update years are promised in writing for your country?
- Do independent tests confirm battery endurance, thermal behaviour, modem reliability and camera quality?
- What are the exact storage, RAM, network-band, warranty and repair options in your market?
Verdict
The Galaxy A26 5G is the stronger recommendation for a purchase decision today: its 50MP OIS camera, 5,000mAh typical battery, 120Hz Super AMOLED display and six-generation/six-year support policy are documented by Samsung. The Infinix Note 70 Pro is a watch-and-verify proposition. Its reported 7,000mAh battery and 50MP OIS camera could make it compelling, but the phone has no confirmed launch date, price, official specification sheet or published update policy as of 20 October 2026. Camera quality and real battery life cannot be awarded to either side until comparable retail testing is available.
