The Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max has a three-camera system built into the phone, while its more unusual photography option is a separate add-on: the Ruiying Z10 camera module. Huawei unveiled the Mate 90 series in China, according to launch reports published on 1 October 2026; those reports do not establish international availability or independently tested image quality.
What Huawei announced in China
GSMArena reported on 1 October 2026 that Huawei unveiled the Mate 90 series in China, with the Pro Max at the top of the lineup. The same report describes the phone’s built-in rear cameras and a Collector’s Edition configuration that supports the Ruiying Z10 module. These are launch-reported specifications, not results from independent camera testing. GSMArena’s launch report

What cameras are built into the Mate 90 Pro Max?
The reported standard rear-camera system consists of three cameras. The 200MP telephoto’s stated 4x optical zoom is distinct from the Z10 module’s claimed 10x continuous optical zoom; the two figures describe different hardware.

What is the Ruiying Z10 camera module?
The Ruiying Z10 is an external camera module, not one of the three cameras built into the handset. GSMArena reports that the Mate 90 Pro Max Collector’s Edition supports it, and lists a 1-inch RYYB sensor, a 24–240mm focal range, 10x continuous optical zoom, and an f/2.0–f/4.5 aperture. Those are reported specifications, not a guarantee of results in real-world shooting.
9to5Google reproduces a translated statement attributed to Huawei describing “a multi-lens optical system” with that focal range, zoom, aperture and sensor size. The outlet also reproduces Huawei’s translated description of a “HyperClick” mount that attaches with a click and enables sharing after shooting. Standard phone or Collector’s Edition Pro Camera Kit?
The key distinction is whether you want the phone’s built-in cameras alone or the separately configured Collector’s Edition kit that supports the attachment. The cited coverage does not establish that the module comes in every Mate 90 Pro Max box, so buyers should check the exact package and compatibility before ordering.

What the camera setup does—and does not—tell you
The Z10 gives the Mate 90 Pro Max a reported detachable-camera option with a longer stated zoom range than the built-in telephoto. That makes the kit a notably different hardware proposition from buying the phone alone. It does not, by itself, prove the module takes better pictures: neither cited launch report supplies comparative image tests, sample analysis, or independent measurements of speed and reliability.
The reports establish a China launch as of 1 October 2026. They do not establish a release date or retail availability elsewhere, nor do they verify Amazon listings or affiliate eligibility. If considering a listing, confirm both the precise Collector’s Edition compatibility and what is included in the package.
