To watch cricket on a TV without casting, first confirm which broadcaster has the rights to the specific match in your country, then use that service’s app on a supported smart TV or streaming device. If you do cast from a phone, the app must support it and both devices usually need to be on the same Wi-Fi network. A TV’s screen-mirroring feature alone does not guarantee that a cricket-streaming app will work with it.
Start with the match and your location
Cricket streaming rights vary by tournament, match and country. A service that carries one event—or carries it in one territory—may not offer the match you want where you live. Check the organizer’s current event page or the local rights holder’s schedule before troubleshooting your TV.

The ICC’s broadcaster list shows how services can be assigned by territory, but the published list is dated 22 February 2022. Use it as an illustration of regional rights, not as a current guide to where a new match is available: ICC broadcaster list.
Keep two checks separate: whether the service has rights to show the match in your location, and whether its app supports your TV or streaming device. A compatible app cannot make an unlicensed match available.

Choose a way to watch on the TV

These are options to compare, not interchangeable guarantees. Check the broadcaster’s device list and the match schedule before choosing a route or buying hardware.
Use the broadcaster’s native TV app first
When available for your exact TV or streaming device, the broadcaster’s own app avoids relying on the phone to discover and connect to the television. Services name different device families: Cricbuzz lists Android TV/Chromecast, Amazon Fire Stick and Apple TV, while Willow by Cricbuzz lists Android TV/Chromecast, Fire TV, Apple TV, Samsung TV and Roku. These are examples from their support pages, not proof that every model or generation is supported.

Willow by Cricbuzz says its service is available exclusively in the United States and Canada. Its support page says the latest Samsung app targets 2022–2026 models, with version differences; 2021 and older models may not yet have it. Check the exact model and the current app listing before relying on that route: Willow by Cricbuzz FAQs.
Consider a streaming device only after checking support
A streaming stick or box can provide a native app route when the TV itself is unsupported. Confirm that the chosen broadcaster supports the exact device family and that the match is available in your country. A listed family name does not establish compatibility with every model, and adding a device does not fix regional restrictions.

Use Cast or AirPlay only when the service supports it
For Google Cast, Google’s guidance is to keep the sender and Cast receiver on the same Wi-Fi network and use a current Cast-enabled app. The control’s position can vary between apps. On newer Apple operating systems, check that the app has the local-network permission it needs to discover devices. Guest networks, separate Wi-Fi networks and network isolation can prevent discovery: Google Cast troubleshooting.
ICC.tv’s FAQ says Android supports Chromecast and iOS supports AirPlay, and instructs users to connect the phone, tablet or computer and TV device to the same Wi-Fi. That FAQ is dated 10 June 2021; confirm current support and match availability in the app rather than assuming it carries a particular event: ICC.tv FAQ.

Set up casting when you choose that route
- Confirm service support. Check that the broadcaster’s app supports Google Cast or AirPlay for your devices. A TV’s own screen-mirroring feature does not prove that the streaming app supports it.
- Update the app. Install the current version of the broadcaster’s app on the sending device.
- Put both devices on the same Wi-Fi. Connect the phone, tablet or computer and the TV or receiver to the same network, not separate guest or isolated networks.
- Allow device discovery. On applicable newer iOS or macOS versions, allow the broadcaster app to access the local network if prompted or if casting cannot find the receiver.
- Open the match and use the app’s Cast or AirPlay control. For Google Cast, the control’s location varies by app. Select the intended TV or receiver.
- If the receiver is missing, check the network again. Make sure both devices remain on the same Wi-Fi, then restart the app and receiver and retry.
Fix common TV and casting problems
The Cast button is missing
- Check whether the specific cricket app supports casting at all.
- Update the app and check local-network permission on applicable Apple systems.
- Confirm the sender and receiver share the same Wi-Fi network.
The TV appears, but the connection fails
- Make sure the devices have not switched to different networks, such as a guest network or an isolated access point.
- Restart the app and the TV or receiver, then try again.
- Follow the chosen broadcaster’s own troubleshooting guidance if the failure continues.
The app opens, but the match is unavailable
- Check the service’s current match or series schedule for your country. Cricbuzz says live streaming varies by region and event; its series page is the place to verify a specific match: Cricbuzz series.
- Check the device’s region setting and whether a VPN or proxy is affecting the location the service detects.
- Do not treat an unavailable match as a casting fault until you have checked local rights.
The stream loads indefinitely or flags a VPN or ad blocker
- Check your connection and confirm that the match is available in your location.
- If the service identifies a VPN, proxy, ad blocker or DNS filter as a problem, disable it and retry, or test a less restrictive network.
- Update the app, then sign out and back in if the service’s troubleshooting advice recommends it.
The broadcaster’s TV app is missing
- Search the TV’s app store and check the support page for the exact TV model and year.
- If the TV is not supported, check whether the broadcaster has an app for a streaming device you already own or are considering.
- Verify the exact app and match before buying hardware; compatibility varies by service and device generation.
Check the service before settling on ICC.tv or a regional app
ICC.tv describes its live coverage as selected and subject to geographic restrictions. Its FAQ lists web, iOS and Android access as well as Chromecast and AirPlay support from mobile devices. Because both rights and coverage can change, check the current ICC.tv schedule and your territory rather than assuming a particular match is included.
