Install the Prime Video app from the App Store, then sign in with the Amazon account that has access to the title you want to watch. You can stream over the internet or download eligible titles in the app for offline viewing. Amazon lists iPad among its supported iOS devices.

Find a title and start watching
Browse or search in the app, open a title, and select play. Check the title’s details before watching: availability and whether it is included with a membership, offered for rent, or available to buy can vary by title, account, and market. A Prime Video membership does not mean every title in the catalog is included.
Download titles for offline viewing
The Prime Video iOS app supports downloads for offline viewing, but the option depends on the title. Amazon’s download instructions describe these routes:

Downloads are useful when you expect limited or no internet access, but they require enough free space on the iPad and are not available for every title.
What to expect from iPad playback
Amazon lists iPad under supported iOS devices. Its mobile-device support information says iOS streaming is up to HD with stereo audio. It also lists features such as subtitles, audio description, profiles, live streaming, and channel support. The exact features can vary with the iPad model and configuration, and some require the latest Prime Video app. Amazon’s cited support information does not establish a minimum iPadOS version or a complete list of compatible iPad models.

Using Prime Video while traveling
The selection available to stream can change when you are outside your home country. Amazon’s travel guidance says compatible devices can download titles before a trip for offline viewing. If you plan to watch on the way, check that the title is available and download it in the app before leaving.
Can you AirPlay downloaded Prime Video from iPad?
No. Amazon says downloaded Prime Video content cannot be played through AirPlay or Chromecast. This restriction applies to downloaded content; it does not establish that all streaming playback is blocked on every external-display setup. Amazon’s AirPlay and Chromecast help explains the restriction.
