The Samsung Galaxy M47 5G stands out for microSD expansion and a clearly stated software-support commitment. A dated price snapshot showed the Samsung offer ₹6,000 above one Motorola listing, but that is not a stable or like-for-like market-wide price gap.

Where Motorola has the advantage on paper
Display resolution and refresh rate
Motorola lists a 2772 × 1272 panel with a refresh rate up to 144Hz. Samsung lists a 1080 × 2340 panel with up to 120Hz. Those figures give the Edge 70 Fusion the higher stated resolution and refresh ceiling; they do not establish which screen looks brighter, more accurate or better in everyday use. Motorola’s 5200-nit peak-brightness claim is also a manufacturer specification, not an independently verified comparison.

Battery capacity and charging
The Edge 70 Fusion’s listed 7000mAh capacity exceeds the M47’s 6000mAh typical capacity, and its 68W charging rating is higher than Samsung’s 45W. Motorola says its phone can last “up to 52 hours”; that is Motorola’s claim, not an independent endurance result. Capacity and wattage alone do not tell you actual battery life or charging time. Motorola lists a 68W USB-C charger in the box, while Samsung says its fast charger is sold separately.
Front-camera resolution
Motorola lists a 32MP front camera and Samsung a 12MP one. Megapixel count alone does not establish selfie quality, so this is a specification difference rather than proof of a better camera.

Where Samsung has the advantage on paper
Expandable storage
The Galaxy M47 supports a MicroSD card up to 2TB, according to Samsung. That gives buyers a documented expansion path beyond the phone’s listed 128GB built-in storage. Motorola’s reviewed page lists 128GB and 256GB configurations but does not state a comparable MicroSD option.

Samsung says the M47 will receive six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates from its first global launch date, and notes that the policy may change. Motorola’s reviewed specifications page lists Android 16 but does not give an equivalent support duration. That silence is not evidence that Motorola has no support policy; it means the two reviewed pages do not provide comparable commitments.

Galaxy software and ecosystem
The M47 is listed with One UI 8.5 on Android 16. If you already use Samsung services or devices, that may be a practical reason to stay with the Galaxy ecosystem, but the specification listings do not establish a general performance advantage.

Price listings are time-sensitive and differ by seller, configuration, color and offer. On October 7, 2026, 91mobiles displayed the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion at ₹29,999 on Flipkart and the Samsung Galaxy M47 5G at ₹35,999 on Amazon: a ₹6,000 difference between those particular displayed offers. On the same date, Gadgets 360 listed the Edge 70 Fusion starting at ₹30,999 on Flipkart and showed other color or configuration prices that differed. The Motorola listings therefore do not establish one fixed price, and the ₹6,000 gap is not a guaranteed current or like-for-like difference.

Check the exact RAM and storage tier, color, seller, bank or exchange discount, and delivery terms before comparing totals. The Samsung listing used for the ₹35,999 snapshot was an Amazon offer, while the cited Motorola offers were on Flipkart; do not treat them as a same-retailer comparison. Which phone should you choose?
Choose the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion if
- You prioritize the larger listed battery, higher wired-charging wattage or included charger.
- You want the higher listed screen resolution and refresh rate.
- You prefer its 32MP front-camera specification.
- You want the option of a 256GB built-in storage variant.
Choose the Samsung Galaxy M47 5G if
- You want MicroSD expansion, with Samsung listing support up to 2TB.
- A manufacturer-stated six-generation OS and six-year security-update policy is important to your buying decision.
- You prefer One UI or already use Samsung devices and services.
These are specification-based decision points, not findings from hands-on tests. The listed camera hardware does not establish photo quality, chipset details do not establish which phone is faster, and battery capacity does not predict your personal runtime.
Launch dates and source scope
Samsung’s India page gives June 29, 2026 as the Galaxy M47 launch date. 91mobiles reports March 6, 2026 as the Edge 70 Fusion launch date and March 12 as its release date; those Motorola dates are attributed to 91mobiles, not Motorola. The product specifications in this comparison are manufacturer-listed for India, and Motorola cautions that market specifications can vary.
