- An Android phone with Google TV mobile version 4.27.8.93 or later, or an iPhone running iOS 14.0 or later.

Using an iPhone or Google Home instead
Google lists iPhone with iOS 14.0 or later and the latest Google TV or Google Home app as supported for phone-remote use. However, the documented Google TV app connection sequence is written for Android. On iPhone, you can use Google Home as an alternative, and should follow the labels shown in the current app rather than assume Android’s Connect TV steps are identical. Connecting the phone app is a separate process from setting up Google TV Streamer for the first time and from pairing its physical Voice Remote. Google’s setup guide covers initial device setup through Google Home and the Voice Remote separately; neither is required to follow the app’s virtual-remote pairing sequence.
